Wright Motorsports Finishes Second in GT World Challenge America Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., (October 9, 2022) – The 2022 season for the Fanatc GT World Challenge America powered by AWS came to a close this weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The three-wide battle for the championship title in the Pro/Am class concluded with Wright Motorsports finishing the endeavor in second place, narrowly missing the top honors by one position.

“The competition in this year’s battle was as strong as ever, and it was an honor to be amongst such a tight field,” said Team Owner John Wright. “This crew and these drivers performed flawlessly again and again, and it really shows. For Charlie Luck to be fighting in the championship in the final race, in his rookie season in the Pro/Am class is really something to be proud of.”

The Porsche customer racing team entered the season finale with the points lead, fully prepared for a tight battle in Saturday’s Indianapolis 8 Hour. The No. 45 Porsche, piloted by Charlie Luck, Jan Heylen, and Elia Erhart showed strong pace all weekend long, but a rare mechanical issue sent the team back to the garage for lengthy repairs just two hours into the race. Though the crew brought the No. 45 back out and into the race in impressive time, valuable ground was lost.

While the team reentered and ran several laps down, the No. 45 Porsche remained ahead of the No. 04 Crowdstrike with Riley Motorsports program as needed, and within just one position of the eventual winner, Racers Edge Motorsports. The team’s perseverance paid off, as other cars would suffer from mechanical issues and retire or also run several laps down from the competition. Of the cars racing for points in the GT World Challenge America championship, the Wright Motorsports entry finished in sixth place in the Pro/Am class.

Father and son-in-law Charlie Luck and Jan Heylen concluded their 2022 race season with seven podiums, four wins, and 10 top-five finishes. The pair started the season off with back-to-back wins and remained championship contenders all the way to the season finale in Indianapolis.

The team will make announcements for future racing plans in the coming months.

Charlie Luck // No. 45 Porsche 911 GT3 R

I’m incredibly proud and feel mighty blessed that we are in second in the championship. This is such a complicated, challenging, extremely difficult journey that we’re on for seven weekends and countless test days and there’s so much incredible talent here at Wright Motorsports. We have nothing to be but grateful and thankful and really, proud.

Jan Heylen // No. 45 Porsche 911 GT3 R

It has been an awesome season, but I’m disappointed with how the day went. Out of all races, today is where we have a mechanical. The car was really good all season long and everybody did a good job, we just came short. I am thankful for the really good job by the team all year and to Charlie for putting this program together. I’m so happy to be part of this. Hope we can go back next year and try for one better.

Elia Erhart // No. 45 Porsche 911 GT3 R

The race was okay. We had a small issue at the start but then we had a good speed all race and were able to push hard. It’s a shame to lose the championship, because of one point. The team did an amazing job. The car was very, good and very fast. It was a pleasure for me to drive for Wright Motorsports, and I’d like to thank everyone who made that possible. Maybe we’ll try it again.

“I felt like the guys did a really good job getting our Open Eyes/Nic Taylor car up to speed. It was really good in qualifying. I was a little worried about how our long-run speed was going to be, but I felt like it was there in the race and I was just riding along once we got the lead. I thought we were in a really good position when that last caution came out with just six or seven to go. We fired off good and I thought we were in a good spot, but it just didn’t work out. I think we have the speed to win this next race and, hopefully, win the championship.”

Chris Liesfeld, Driver No. 96 Fields Racing/M1 Racecars Chevrolet Camaro:

“I struggled a little bit even though this is a track I’m familiar with. Nonetheless, I had a great race with Tom Sheehan. We swapped positions a couple of times in the race, but we kept it clean and that’s the way to do it. I had a good time doing that.”

The track sits a little more than an hour northeast of the team’s headquarters in High Point, North Carolina, and just four miles as the crow flies from the Waukegan Farms property in Semora, North Carolina, the second home of Hull and his wife and team co-owner, Laura.

Maurice Hull, Driver No. 57 Hanes Asphalt & Paving/Carter Bank Silver Hare Racing Chevrolet Camaro:

“It was just a super weekend to be at our home track. To win the Masters with some great local sponsors – Hanes Asphalt & Paving, Carter Bank, and Davis Roofing – all of whom are partners in our real estate ventures that are subcontractors and do work for all of our properties, it’s nice to be with them and share a victory here. It’s nice to have most of our family here – had two kids, one niece and two grandchildren, neighbors, friends. If you’re at home, everybody comes and it’s a wonderful thing to have a good run, so I’m really tickled and I’m proud of all of them. I’m proud of the effort of our team. The Silver Hare guys did a superb job. It was a long, hard race. It wasn’t really hot – the weather was good – but there was a lot of close racing. So it was a good race weekend, but I really hate that Connor (Zilisch) went off. He’s an exceptionally bright, young talent and he’s got a super future ahead of him. He’s just had a string of bad luck, but we’re going to get that behind us so when we start next year, he’s going to smoke them every time.”

Connor Zilisch, Driver No. 5 Davis Roofing Silver Hare Racing Chevrolet Camaro:

“Another tough race. I just got stuck on the outside and nothing good ever happens out there. It was just a mistake and I’ll learn from it, learn to be more patient. Can’t hang our heads for too long, just have to get prepared for the last race in the championship at COTA and be ready to go when we get there. I’m looking forward to it. Good job by Maurice for getting the Masters win. That’s great for him. He was picking it up all weekend and it’s good to see all of his hard work pay off. We’ll move on to COTA and see what we’ve got there.”

Taylor Gray – ARCA Menards Series Recap: Toledo Speedway

Saturday, October 8th
Track: Toledo Speedway, 0.5-mile paved oval
Race: 20 of 20
Event: Shore Lunch 200 (200 laps, 100 miles)

Taylor Gray, No. 17 Factory Canopies Mustang

Start: 4th
Finish: 4th

Taylor Gray started on the second row of the Shore Lunch 200 at Toledo Speedway, swiftly capturing a spot on the initial green flag lap. The Ford Performance driver found himself in a heated battle for the podium spots early on, as the first five drivers atop the leaderboard sat within half a second of each other. As the stint wore on, Gray continued to gain on the leaders. Surviving a tire rub late in the run, the No. 17 Mustang crossed the line in third at the end of stage one. The three-time ARCA Menards Series winner radioed to Crew Chief Chad Johnston that he was too tight in turns one and two during the mandatory break, hoping to improve the car’s handling. Following a minor adjustment to loosen its condition, Gray took two additional places in the second stage, outlasting numerous restarts to hold onto second for the entirety of the 75-lap stint. Continuing to search for more grip as the race winded down, Gray slid down to fourth — eventually losing the handle entirely on his Factory Canopies Ford Mustang. As the sun set on Toledo, the 17-year-old finished fourth in the final race of the 2022 ARCA Menards Series season.

RCR NXS Post Race Report: Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL

Late-Race Bump Spoils Solid Run by Sheldon Creed and the Whelen Chevrolet Team at the ROVAL

Finish: 16th
Start: 4th
Points: 14th

“We had good speed and would have been third at worst and that’s a good thing to take away from today. I felt like we did our job all day. We ran no worse than fifth the whole race. The strategy played out awesome and we were able to lead laps in our Whelen Chevrolet. We struggled on the short runs today but I thought after like five laps I settled in and the lap times leveled out with the 54 (Ty Gibbs) and 16 (AJ Allmendinger). We just never got green flag runs at the end and then we get turned running third (Lap 58 of 72). I went to the back but we had fresh tires and came back up to 16th. All those guys in the back lose their minds at the end. You’re trying to make passes without tearing your race car up but it’s a mess and it’s so hard to get by them. Some of those guys back there are racing for points too, so you’re trying to keep that in mind because you don’t want to ruin their season. We’ll go to Las Vegas and look to get ours.” -Sheldon Creed

Austin Hill and the No. 21 Bennett Transportation & Logistics Chevrolet Team Advances to Round of 8 in the Playoffs

Finish: 29th
Start: 8th
Points: 6th

“I’m going to be sore tomorrow, that’s for sure. It was a long day for my Bennett Transportation & Logistics team. I knew something was off at the end of Stage 1 and could feel that it was getting harder to make the turns. I was able to make it to the end of the stage but I had a feeling it was a power steering issue. My team took a look at it on pit road under caution and tried to add fluid to the power steering pump. When I got back on track, I could tell it wasn’t fixed. I was able to make it to the end of Stage 2 but it was really difficult and the steering got even tighter. On a positive note, I found out that I clinched a spot in the Round of 8 which definitely lifted my spirits but it just got worse. We had to replace the entire power steering pump and lost a lot of laps but there was no way for me to make it through the turns anymore. My guys busted their tails all day to fix my car and I’m proud of everyone at RCR and ECR for never giving up. We finished 29th and we’re ready to put this one behind us and dive into the next round of the Playoffs. Las Vegas is a really good track for me so I’m looking forward to it.” -Austin Hill

TOYOTA QUOTES

TY GIBBS, No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota GR Supra, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 2nd

What did you need to get to AJ Allmendinger in the closing laps?

“We had a very fast Monster Energy GR Supra. We got in the wall a little bit there on both of the restarts and never could get back to the 16 (AJ Allmendinger). We had great speed. I just want to thank my team. I had a great time in the race today and happy that we’re moving onto the round of eight.”

BRANDON JONES, No. 19 Menards/Fisher Toyota GR Supra, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 7th

How do you feel about making it into the next round by only two points? How was your race overall today to be able to execute what you and your team needed to do in order to transfer?

“It was one of those days where everyone just did their job. I think we had a goal in mind today. We always want to come in and win these races, but our goal today was to come in and move onto the next round. Whatever we had to do to do that was what we decided on. Knew we needed some stage points. That first one threw me for a loop, didn’t start off as good as I wanted it to for this race. Jeff (Meendering, crew chief) made a really good call on the first stop to do an adjustment and got some really good adjustments in there and once we got track position, we were fast enough to maintain it. It was just that we weren’t really fast enough to drive up to that point. So we did a really good job flipping that stage and getting the stage win. Then at the end, they did as really, really good job of letting me know where everyone was points-wise. That’s what I told them what I wanted to hear all day so I knew how hard I needed to push for that next position or if I can ride in that area and not have to push. There was no reason to go for that next spot if you didn’t have to and end up taking yourself out over something crazy. We were just really solid. We didn’t spin out, didn’t have any lockups. Everyone did their job on pit road. That’s really what we need to do these next couple of rounds to get to Phoenix.”

Check the procedure of making your personal custom coin – 2022

What is a custom coin?

A custom coin is a metal coin that you can personalize and customize with your picture or brand logo for personal interests and advertisement of your company, respectively. You can get your coin customized from StationeryXpress. Such a coin implies the membership of a certain company. The Military uses these custom coins and provides their soldiers to indicate their soldiers.

History:

The 3d print custom coin was just used as a money coin in the past. Kings, emperors, and rulers were used to make their custom coins to use as money. The photographs of the rulers were carved on the coins. It was an ordeal to be carved on a coin. But as the world evolved, so did the coins. It wasn’t even a simple task back in the ’80s or early ’90s. You can easily make your 3d print custom coin. You can also advertise your company by making these custom coins.

Making a 3d print custom coin:

When you are making a custom coin, you need some basic things, which are given below:

  • CNC milling machine, 3D modeling software, 2D picture editing software, engraving cutter, sandpaper, Camera

Make your 3D head by methods below.

There are two methods for making a 3D head.

Methods:

There are two methods involved in making a 3d print custom coin.

SCANNING — scan your 3D model head with a high-quality 3D scanner.

MAKING DEPTH MAP — make your depth map from a photo to displace a 3D geometry to carve it on a coin. It is called the 123D catch method. (This feature is available in Autodesk software. You can use any alternative software)

This method is not specific to making a photo coin. You can carve any company on the custom coin.

Using the 123D catch feature for making a shape:

Take a sharp photo to cover an entire head. Make a side pose for a 3D print custom coin. Once you shoot everything, process the photos using 3D software. Now manipulate through 3D software.

3D Modeling to polish the shape prints:

Your 3D print custom coin model is ready. Polish this print and bisect it down to the middle. Now squish it down to fit your model on the coin.

Learn to make depth map:

Manually push and pull the photos to become the darker side brighter. Go back and forth between your 3D software to displace the geometry. If your picture has white pixels in the depth map, you’ll have to push it a lot.

Milling:

For milling, you need a 90-degree engraving cutter by a CNC mill. Don’t force too much because the vibrations will cause roughing of the material. Before milling, fix the points, so it doesn’t cause roughness.

Making rim and final finishing:

Give a final finishing by creating a rim around the coin on a belt sander by simply filling the rest of the material and painting it. Once the paint is dried, take a polish like Autosol to highlight the high spots.

Your Custom coin is ready!

What do Custom coins represent?

Custom coins represent achievement, teams, companies, and businesses. The member who works hard to achieve milestones for the company is often awarded these custom coins.

Is Polar Fleece a Warm Fabric? – Detailed Preview

When it comes to winter, the first thing that comes to mind when you hear about this season is cozy, windy nights and warm clothing.

In winter, we need to cover ourselves with warm items of clothing, and we need to keep our bodies warm. Particularly for the people who reside in the polar areas, who live in comparatively colder areas, think of our warmest sweaters and coats with warm boots. So they would keep themselves safe from the health hazards of winter. We need warm clothes that include cozy, thick woolen gloves, socks, hats, coats, etc. As far as wintertime is concerned, it is a lovely season — the snow, the snowman, and the fun. But ever think of the people who live in the Polar Regions? It is a harsh season for them. They need great protection from winter.

People traveling to colder mountain areas need to keep themselves warm as their bodies are not prone to the cold seasons. They think of the warmest clothes while packing their bags for traveling. So the query came to our minds: What is winter’s warmest clothing?

As far as warm clothing is concerned, we need to understand which phase of the season it is.

People who live in Alaska need the warmest clothes like wool weaved sweaters. But people living in temperate zones do not go through harsh winters. They can wear polar fleece fabrics, which are famous for their excellent insulative properties.

What is polar fleece?

Soft insulating fabric is known for its double-sided fabric.

The polar fleece is mostly made up of polyester with a napped surface, but it can also be made from rayon, hump, or cotton. The polar fleece is much lighter than wool but has excellent insulating properties. The polar fleece keeps the body warm with its soft, comfy fabric.

Properties:

It has many beneficial properties.

  • The polar fleece is hydrophobic, so it is resistant to water absorption. The thermal property of polar fleece remains constant even after absorbing water. It is famous for its breathing property and is a low-cost substitute for wool. Polar fleece is a flammable fabric, so it needs to be treated with a flame retardant and melts when exposed to the flame.
  • Polar fleece is a windproof fabric. Because of its windproof properties, it accumulates dirt and lint easily. It can easily hold static electricity.
  • Polar fleece will prove to be your best friend in cold temperatures, especially during a trip to mountain-hilly areas in winter. This fleece is available in a variety of thicknesses and the quality of warming properties. The thickness varies like100 micro, 200 micro, and 300 micros. The 300 microfiber is the thickest of all types. This is also the least flexible fleece.
  • Because of its double-sided fabric, it has excellent insulation. The polar fleece is warm yet lightweight, so it is easy to wear for people who don’t like thick clothes.
  • It breathes well, so athletes prefer to wear this fabric to keep their bodies warm during play.
  • This warmest and the softest fabric is durable yet prone to pilling and fraying.
  • Thus, polar fleece is the warmest of all types of fleece. This article has thoroughly enlightened the properties of polar fleece.
