Zane Smith Heads to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course as Points Leader

Looks to Give Boot Barn First Win

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 5, 2022) – After enjoying an off-week from NASCAR Camping World Truck Series action, Zane Smith returns as the regular season points leader heading into the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Boot Barn, the nation’s largest western and work wear retailer, will adorn the No. 38 Front Row Motorsports (FRM) Ford F-150 for the second time this 2022 season. Coming off a third-place finish in Knoxville, they will join the program again at the end of July at the Indianapolis Raceway Park.

“We’ve been fortunate to have a lot of great partners come on board with us this year at FRM,” Smith stated. “Boot Barn has really embraced the NASCAR culture, because it also represents their culture. We gave them a third place on the dirt, hopefully we can deliver a win this weekend on the road course.”

With only two races left before deciding a regular season champion, Smith is looking for consistency to hold on to the points lead.

“This regular season championship battle is far from over,” said Smith. “We have a 21-point lead on second place, but we’ve also seen how drastically the points can swing if you have a bad day. Winning this weekend at Mid-Ohio would be great, but realistically we need to focus on a great finish and holding the points lead so we have a chance at the 15 playoff points that come with a regular season championship.”

Smith and the No. 38 Boot Barn team race the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. ET on FS1.

· Kevin Harvick leads all drivers with five series wins.
· Mark Martin has the most Ford wins with three while Jeff Burton and Carl Edwards have two each.

FORD IN THE CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES AT MID-OHIO

· This weekend marks the inaugural event for the series at Mid-Ohio.

BLANEY EYEING REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP

Ryan Blaney may still be looking for his first points win of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season, but he’s right in the thick of the regular season championship battle with only eight races remaining. This year’s All-Star Race winner currently sits second in the standings, 33 points behind leader Chase Elliott going into Sunday’s race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Blaney, who had a streak of three straight top-10 finishes end after an 11th-place run at Road America, is tied for the most stage wins among all drivers with five.

TOP 10 RUNS BECOMING THE NORM

Four Ford drivers have been on a variety of top 10 runs over the past few months, led by Michael McDowell, whose eighth-place finish at Road America marked his sixth in the last 10 races. Kevin Harvick, who is currently outside of the playoff field, has been knocking out top 10 finishes at a rate of seven in the last nine while Chris Buescher has posted a second at Sonoma and sixth at Road America in his last three starts. Currently, Austin Cindric has a streak of three straight top 10s after running fifth at Sonoma and seventh the past two weeks at Nashville and Road America.

HERBST CLIMBING IN THE NXS STANDINGS

Riley Herbst has been steadily moving up in the NASCAR XFINITY Series standings, entering this weekend’s race at Atlanta Motor Speedway in ninth place. Herbst had been as low as 12th following the road course race at Circuit of the Americas, but in the 10 races since then he has registered eight top 10 finishes, including three in the top five. As a result, he has a 136-point cushion above the cut line with 10 races remaining in the regular season before the 12-driver playoff field is set.

SMITH TAKES TRUCK SERIES POINTS LEAD

Zane Smith’s second-place finish two weeks ago at Nashville Superspeedway enabled him to take the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points lead with only two races remaining in the regular season. As the Front Row Motorsports driver heads to Mid-Ohio for Saturday’s inaugural race, Smith holds a 21-point lead over second-place John Hunter Nemechek and leads all drivers in top 10s (12), top 5s (8), wins (3) and laps led (339).

NASCAR CUP SERIES ATLANTA HIGHLIGHTS

KESELOWSKI GETS FIRST CUP WIN FOR MUSTANG

Brad Keselowski gave Mustang its first NASCAR Cup Series victory as he held off Martin Truex Jr. at the finish to win the Folds of Honor 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2019. Keselowski, who was battling an illness all weekend and had Austin Cindric standing by in case he needed relief, led the final 33 laps to post his 28th career victory. In all, Ford led 177 of the 325 laps and won for the third straight year at the 1.5-mile track.

HARVICK SWEEPS 2018 WEEKEND

Kevin Harvick led eight times for a race-high 181 laps in winning the Fold’s of Honor 500 in 2018 and completing a sweep of the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR XFINITY races. After winning all three stages the day before in his Ford Mustang, Harvick took the first stage in the Cup race and then led the final 25 laps to post his 38th career victory and third with Ford. Brad Keselowski finished second and Clint Bowyer third to give Ford a 1-2-3 sweep. Ford dominated from start to finish as four drivers combined to lead 272-of-325 laps. Harvick became the first Ford driver to sweep a Cup/XFINITY weekend since Joey Logano did it in 2015 at Watkins Glen International.

SNOW DAYS

Morgan Shepherd captured Ford’s 400th series victory in 1993 when snow delayed the Motorcraft Quality Parts 500 for nearly a week. The original race date was Sunday, March 14, 1992, but a blizzard that would eventually be called the ‘Storm of the Century’ pounded the Atlanta area with 6-8 inches of snow. An estimated 82,000 fans came back the following Saturday, where they were greeted by souvenir rigs that sports t-shirts proclaiming ‘I Survived the Atlanta Blizzard 500.’ When the race started, Mark Martin had the dominant car as he led 140 of the first 225 laps, but engine problems put him out of the running and Shepherd took advantage as he stretched his fuel mileage to the finish, leading the final 12 laps and winning by a whopping 23.50 seconds. The win for Shepherd, who was 51 at the time, was his fourth and final victory in the NASCAR Cup Series.

SWEEP DREAMS

Marvin Panch was the first driver to sweep both AMS races in a single season when he did it in 1965 with the Wood Brothers. Georgia native Bill Elliott posted a pair of season sweeps (1985 and 1992) and won five times overall while Carl Edwards registered the first win of his career at the speedway in 2005 and matched it later that fall.

LORENZEN LAPS THE FIELD

Ford went to victory lane at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the first time in 1961 when NASCAR Hall of Famer Fred Lorenzen captured the Festival 250 on July 9 while driving for Holman-Moody. He did it in dominating fashion as well by lapping the field. Lorenzen, who led 52 laps on the day, beat runner-up Bob Welborn by one lap in his 1961 Ford. Richard Petty finished third that afternoon, but was three laps down. That victory served as a springboard for Lorenzen’s future success at AMS, which included becoming the first driver to win the Atlanta 500 three straight years (1962-63-64).

Round 3 Racing Heads to Road Atlanta

The team looks for a repeat of last year’s triple podium despite facing temperatures expecting to be in the 90s.

Braselton, Ga. (5 July 2022) – With a high-speed, high-commitment turn one, a pair of key braking areas into slower technical sections, a long back stretch, and one final fast corner making up every lap at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, the drivers and crew of Round 3 Racing (R3R)are eager to take to the track this weekend for the sixth event of the World Racing League powered by Hagerty (WRL) season.

The weekend will mark a double-header, with a nine hour race on tap for Saturday and followed by a seven-hour enduro to close out the weekend on Sunday.

Round 3 Racing (R3R) is going into the double-header weekend with the momentum coming off a second-place finish at Daytona International Speedway. Last year, the R3R No. 701 Porsche Cayman and the R3R No. 605 Porsche Boxster both scored podiums at the hilly circuit in rural Georgia, and the team will look for more this weekend.

No. 401 TEAM HAGERTY MOTORSPORTS BMW M4 GT4 (GTO)

The No. 401 Hagerty Motorsports team will take on the heat of Atlanta in the double-header weekend. Friday’s practice and qualifying session will be the first time the BMW has seen the esses or the fast downhill right-hander known as Turn 12, but the stout driver line up of Brad McCall, Sarah Montgomery, and Cole Loftsgard all have their share of laps at the track.

The three teamed up last season at Road Atlanta in the No. 702 Porsche Cayman and will look for a little bit of redemption as the 2021 visit ended early for McCall, Montgomery, and Loftsgard following an engine issue.

All three teammates enjoy the track; it’s hot and tough but fun to drive with the longer straightaways and fast corners. This one is close to home for Montgomery, who hails from Midtown, a suburb of Atlanta, just an hour southwest of the track. She has been maneuvering Road Atlanta since 2014, starting with Skip Barber. Montgomery has been behind the wheel of open-wheel cars, Porsche Caymans, BMW M4, and Mazda MX-5, to name a few.

“Road Atlanta is one of my favorite tracks,” said Montgomery. “I’m so excited to be back! This track is special for me because it’s so close to home, and I’ve been lucky to drive several different cars here. We have a real shot at getting a podium this weekend as my teammates, and I have been qualifying well and running up front for most of the races. The only trick this weekend is to try and stay cool in this heat!”

No. 609 TEAM SENTINEL BMW M4 GT4 (GTO)

The No. 609 Sentinel BMW will see race action at Road Atlanta for the first time this weekend. The team made up of James Candelaria, Brian Ghidinelli, and Ron Hugate will team up to battle a field of 65 cars through the esses and the quick turns of 10a and 10b. This weekend will be the first weekend the three have teamed together as they look to compete for a podium.

This season the team has competed in all five race weekends, with a best finish of second place at New Orleans Motorsports Park in February. The No. 609 has faced battles, including a motor blowing up while competing for a podium with just two hours remaining in the race. The Sentinel team is out for redemption.

“It’s been a while since I’ve raced Road Atlanta, but it is one of my favorites,” said Candelaria. “Road Atlanta has a little bit of everything; it really requires perfection and commitment to be fast through the downhill esses and Turn 12. It’s a fantastic racetrack. I’m looking forward to being back in the car; we have a stellar lineup with Ron Hugate, Brian Ghidinelli, and myself. We are looking to run out front.”

No. 701 TEAM COOPER TIRES PORSCHE CAYMAN (GP1)

The No. 701 Cooper Tires team is excited to return to Road Atlanta after the podium finish last year. The team overcame a few challenges from the previous year’s races, making the third-place finish even more satisfying. This year the team is made up of Mo Dadkhah, Loni Unser, and Zack Ping, ready to pick up where they left off last year.

Ping will enjoy the home turf advantage, having grown up just 30 minutes down the road. He has spent hours at the track driving various cars, including spec racer fords, DP02 prototypes, and Radical Cup cars.

Dadkhah and Unser, on the other hand, will return to the semi-familiar track ready for the challenging elevation. Unser will be coming off a Pikes Peak International Hill Climb run where she finished second. Dadkhah has competed at Road Atlanta twice before, both with Round 3 Racing.

“I’m excited to be back at Road Atlanta,” said Dadkhah. “I’ve been here two times prior with Round 3 Racing and we ended both years on the Podium! I love the elevation changes at Road Atlanta, it makes the track more challenging. There is also no room for error at this track. Turn 12 is one of the fastest corners here and if you go off track you’re hitting one of two cement barriers. Sadly, I am intimately aware of those barriers after being hit in turn 12 last year. We are going to try not to repeat that part of last year. We have a great car and I believe Zack, Loni and myself have a great chance at making the top step of the podium this year!”

No. 605 TEAM HAGERTY DRIVERS CLUB PORSCHE BOXSTER (GP3)

Dennis Neel, Carter Pease, Buz McCall, and Hannah Grisham are looking to repeat last year’s double victories at Road Atlanta. After starting on pole for both races last season, the team led the GP3 field to win. This season they have started on pole for the three races they have competed in and have brought home two podium finishes in that same time frame.

Grisham, originally from California, moved to Rome, Georgia in 2020, making Road Atlanta her home track. The young driver has tested many times at the raceway, but her first time racing the track was last year with R3R. Grisham was able to help bring home both wins last season with the team.

“I’m excited to be back at Road Atlanta, especially after last year’s double win,” said Grisham. “The No. 605 team has had a great season so far and coming off a second place finish at Daytona, I think we will be competing for the win again this year. Road Atlanta has more recently become a home track of mine, making it that much more special to get another set of wins this weekend!”

The Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta weekend will start on Friday, July 8, with practice and qualifying before heading into the double-header weekend on Saturday. Live streaming will be available on WRL’s Youtube or follow along on our social media channels.

McDowell Ready to Apply Lessons Learned in Spring

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 5, 2022) – The last time Michael McDowell and Fr8Auctions.com/Brave Like Wyatt partnered, they finished off the longest race of the season with a top-10 finish at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. It will be interesting to see what the track gives us this weekend, given the much warmer weather.”

A new option to bet on sports is using cryptocurrency

Photo by Art Rachen on Unsplash

Cryptocurrencies are currently regarded as the most advanced and trustworthy means of interparty settlements. Each coin owner can stay anonymous and have complete confidence in the security of their money thanks to blockchain technology. These two requirements are what have made cryptocurrencies so well-liked and in demand in the online betting and casino industry.

Using cryptocurrency wallets for online betting has several advantages

Nowadays, practically all respectable brokers provide crypto betting. Gamblers can deposit and withdraw money in coins since it has the lowest commission for all transactions, is instantaneous, has the best security system, and all deposits in coins are credited commission-free!

It’s critical to realize that using cryptocurrency to transact money is legal. The purpose of blockchain technology was to eventually replace conventional banking institutions. At the legislative level, some nations already have plans for these settlements.

At the moment, bookmakers provide access only to the most popular currencies – bitcoin, ether, etc. But soon it will be possible to make crypto betting on other digital systems. For example, Near has recently been gaining momentum.

A free client-side interface called MyEtherWallet, or MEW, helps you interact with the Ethereum blockchain and will allow you to generate wallets, interact with smart contracts, and more.

How do I use cryptocurrencies for betting?

As an illustration, Near has recently been gaining ground. If you are unfamiliar with this type of digital currency, you must first create a digital wallet on one of the platforms, add funds to it using a credit card or a peer-to-peer exchanger, transfer coins to your personal broker account, place a wager, and then withdraw winnings to your wallet information.

On several exchanges, including Binance, you can create an account. Their decentralization is implicit in the technology itself. It is crucial to be aware that when you open it, you will receive a private key known as a “token.” Here, it must be kept in the strictest of confidence and, preferably, committed to memory.

Using a debit or credit card, you can purchase a cryptocurrency for fiat money. It is also possible to mine coins, but this is a highly expensive, drawn-out, and difficult procedure. With a bank card, purchasing is simpler. Additionally, you can swap cryptocurrency for dollars, euros, and other currencies using the exchange. Sports betting with cryptocurrencies is not only trustworthy and profitable but also incredibly advanced.

Photo by Tory Bishop on Unsplash

Car accidents can be emotionally and financially burdensome, regardless of whether you were there when it happened or if you only heard about what happened after. Despite our best efforts to make sure that the roads are safe, there is always a slight risk to driving or even just riding a car.

So if you are ever in need of a body shop that can restore your car to its former glory, it is crucial that you find someone. Here are some signs you can look out for to make sure that you are about to leave your beloved car at the best body shop in Madison WI.

Staffed by Certified Car Technicians

A body shop is only as good as the technicians who are taking care of its vehicles. You should never, ever allow someone to do collision or body repair work, or any sort of detailing on your car if they are not ASE and I-CAR certified.

ASE is the national agency that is responsible for certifying auto mechanics, while I-CAR is the industry organization that collision repair technicians go to for training and certification. If the body shop you are approaching knows what it is doing, then it should only be hiring technicians who are I-CAR and ASE certified.

3 Signs You’ve One of the Best Body Shops in Madison WI

A Track Record of Customer Satisfaction

Everything is online and easily verifiable these days. Most businesses will have some form of internet presence you can check to make sure that they are a reputable company.

On the off chance that they do not have any social media presence yet, you can look at their rating on the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The BBB has a list of body shops in their database and assigns ratings according to how satisfied customers are with the shop.

The Right Facilities for Your Ride

For this factor, we recommend going to the body shop and seeing how they work on-site for yourself. This will help you get the best reassurance. It’s the only way to find out whether they are strict with personal protective equipment, staff protocol, and vehicle maintenance under their care, to name a few.

Aside from the way they work, you can also look at the tools and equipment they have. If you need big vehicles like trucks, RVs, and trailers repaired, then it’s important for your body shop to have oversized booths to accommodate your needs. These big vehicles also need to be serviced by the right technicians.

How Far Their “Extra Mile” Goes

Lastly, body shops will usually have certain additional freebies for their customers. It is a part of their industry and it signals their dedication to customer service. For example, some shops offer a 24/7 drop-off and pick-up service. Others offer free pick-up and delivery of the vehicle.

Signs Your Body Shop Did a Good Job

Everything is in Writing

Before they even laid a hand on your vehicle, the technicians already wrote everything down on paper. This makes it possible for you to itemize each repair or detailing done to your car. After they are finished, you can return and check if the shop finished all the repairs correctly.

All the Repairs Were Discussed Upfront

Auto repair starts from the minute you drop off your vehicle. They should be able to set clear expectations with you and provide realistic timelines for your car. It is important that your body shop involves you in the communication process. After all, it is your car that they are working on.

Your Car Comes Back Squeaky Clean

When it comes to body shop services, appearance is definitely an important consideration. Washing and cleaning your car is a part of the service. When you return to pick up your car, check the interiors to see if there are any old parts left in the trunk. If you had a paint job, check for spills, drops, or other indications that the service was not done properly.

Everything Looks Good Under Your Inspection

Finally, the most telltale sign to knowing the body shop you chose did a good job is to go and see the product for yourself. Look closely at all the repaired areas.

If you are not a car bugg, make sure that there are no gaps between the body panels. This is a clear sign that the panels were not aligned correctly. Open and close your doors. Turn on your headlights. If you notice anything off, you should definitely get a second opinion.

In the rare instance that a problem with the repair develops months later, you can return and have it checked. Find the paperwork and receipt, and explain the situation. A reputable body shop will acknowledge if it is connected to any repairs that they have done and fix it under warranty.

Note: The quotes in this article are fictional.

1. Chase Elliott: Eliott dominated early at Road America, but couldn’t overcome Tyler Reddick’s late surge and had to settle for second.

“Reddick just had too much for me there at the end in that No. 8 3CHI Chevy,” Elliott said. “Fittingly enough, he ‘smoked’ me.”

2. Ross Chastain: Chastain finished fourth at Road America, posting his Cup-series best of nine top-fives in a season.

“I thought I drove a great race,” Chastain said. “One, because I finished fourth, and two, because I didn’t get lectured by some veterans after the race.”

3. Ryan Blaney: Blaney won Stage 2, led 4 laps, and finished 11th in the Kwik Trip 250.

“Tyler Reddick was pretty darn excited to get his first Cup win and qualify for the postseason,” Blaney said. “I mean, maybe too excited. Heck, I think he started hyperventilating. I said, ‘Dude, take deep breaths.’ Then I thought, ‘He’s got ‘3CHI’ on his car.’ So then I said, ‘Dude, inhale.'”

4. Kyle Larson: Larson finished a distant third at Road America, as Tyler Reddick dominated late to win his way into the post-season.

“Congratulations to Tyler on such a huge win,” Larson said. “As the driver of the 3CHI Chevrolet, he’ll probably remember his first Cup victory with a ‘bowl.'”

5. Joey Logano: Logano finished 27th at Road America.

“I’ve had a pretty crappy year on road courses,” Logano said. “I’ve tried so hard to improve my driving on circuits, but apparently, I’m not making any progress. In other words, it looks like, ironically, I’m ‘going in circles.'”

6. Kyle Busch: Busch posted a disappointing 29th-place finish at Road America, finishing as the last car on the lead lap.

“‘Road America’ is such a fitting name for a race venue on July 4th weekend,” Busch said. “Chode America’ is such a fitting name for me.”

7. Kevin Harvick: Harvick finished 10th in the Kwik Trip 250 as Tyler Reddick won to become the 13th driver to clinch a playoff spot via a win.

“Reddick’s win knocked me out of playoff position,” Harvick said. “And judging by the lack of driver confrontations this season, it might be the only ‘knockout’ we’ll see this year.”

8. Martin Truex Jr.: Truex finished 13th at Road America, posting Toyota’s best finish on the day.

“It was just a sad day for Toyota overall,” Truex said. “But congratulations to Tyler Reddick. If you’re handing out grades, he gets an A-plus. And speaking of the ‘3CHI’ car advertising CBD oil, among other things, Toyota’s grade for the race was not a ‘C,’ nor a ‘B,’ nor a ‘D,’ but an ‘F.'”

9. Daniel Suarez: Suarez came home fifth at Road America.

“I know the elation Reddick feels,” Suarez said. “I too got my first cup win on a road course. And I know I couldn’t have done it without my team. So I, much like Reddick in his No. 8 3CHI Chevrolet, know it was a ‘joint’ effort.'”

10. Tyler Reddick: Reddick pulled away from Chase Elliott in the closing laps to win the Kwik Trip 250 at Road America. The win put Reddick in the playoff field.

“My No. 8 car was dialed in,” Reddick said. “The 3CHI Chevrolet was fast; you could even say it was ‘blazing.’ Now, my confidence is through the roof. In fact, it’s growing like a weed.”
