MBS MOTORSPORTS ENTERS NASCAR PINTY’S SERIES

(December 20, 2021) MBS Motorsports is taking a bold step kicking off their motorsports program. For the 2022 season the #31 MBS Motorsports Chevrolet will compete in select events in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series with driver Daniel Bois as the driver. Don Beatty along with partners Jeff Murphy and Dominic Scrivo will make up the ownership group.

The decision to enter such a high level of racing was not taken lightly by all involved. Beatty, Murphy & Scrivo have a deep-rooted passion for racing that continues to grow. Meeting highly sought-after driver coach Daniel Bois years ago and developing a relationship with him are the perfect combination of blended skills and experience along with a work ethic that’s second to none.

Another important member of the MBS Motorsports effort will be Jay Fredericks who will be the Crew Chief. Fredericks brings many years of experience including time as Car Chief in the Pinty’s Series and in the Trans Am TA2 Series as Crew Chief.

“We’re really going back to the beginnings of grassroots stock car racing,” said Don Beatty. “We don’t have one big sponsor; we have a number of very enthusiastic smaller partners. Everyone involved with our team, whether it’s the crew that works on the car, our graphic designer, truck driver, they’re all volunteers. They’re all passionate about racing and they want to be involved in a culture that takes pride in everything they do” he added.

Don’t think for a minute though that the #31 MBS Motorsports Chevrolet team will be using inferior equipment. “Our #31 Chevy was purchased from Scott Steckly and 22 Racing,” said Beatty. “Scott himself has been involved in helping us get up to speed with everything from seat fittings to building out the infrastructure for our team. We can’t thank him enough for his assistance, he really wants us to succeed”.

Driving the #31 MBS Motorsports Chevrolet will be full-time high-performance driving instructor Daniel Bois who does have a couple of Pinty’s Series starts to his credit. “I’m excited and honoured to be part of this group” stated Bois. “Connecting with this group of outstanding individuals and working with them improve their driving skills was the start of a special relationship and now we’re looking to begin this new adventure” he added.

All those involved at MBS Motorsports understand what this big step into the NASCAR Pinty’s Series entails. “We are all big fans of the series and the wonderfully talented people that have been involved in this elite level of motorsports for the last 15 years. Our plan is to participate in the two races at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for sure and as we learn and gain experience, we’ll consider additional races.

In the coming weeks and months, the preparations for the #31 MBS Motorsports Chevrolet will ramp up. Driver seat fittings, preparing the car with road course set-up, test days and much more will keep the team busy prior to their first race, May 22, 2022.

Race fans are encouraged to follow the progress of MBS Motorsports channels during the off season.

What Should I Know About Off-roading?

Photo by Robson Hatsukami Morgan on Unsplash

The off-roading hobby is among the most popular motorsports. It’s not hard to see why many people like it. It’s fast, exciting, and exhilarating, faces you with challenges you have to overcome, is satisfying, and more than flashy enough for the ladies.

Many people who consider themselves off-road enthusiasts, however, haven’t even been inside an off-road vehicle. Not that they’re to blame, since not everybody has as much exposure as people from other parts of the world.

Live in Kentucky, and you’re much more likely to be acquainted with the idea of huge 4×4 rigs compared to someone who grew up somewhere in Bordeaux, France.

However, if you did grow up in Bordeaux, then welcome to off-roading and it does not discriminate. This article will ideally help explain a couple of core off-road concepts for you to kickstart your future passion.

Basics of Off-roading

There are a lot of differences between driving off-road and driving on a road. The term “going off-road”, technically does not specifically imply going through the wilderness. As long as you’re driving on anything that is not a road, you’re off-roading.

However, it’s important to realize that this is generally damaging to the environment, and should be avoided if you can. This is why most areas in which off-roading is prevalent have established trails that are cared for and maintained by an organization that has an interest in keeping the motorsport’s good reputation.

While off-roading has its own aesthetic and culture, you theoretically don’t need a vehicle designed for the off-road to be an “off-roader”. That is because, by the time you get out of the trail you’re driving through, your average Sedan is going to come apart.

Passenger vehicles aren’t made for off-roading. You can take them off-road, and many people have, and will, but they do so because of necessity, not because it’s fun. If you’ve ever been a young child in the backseat of your parent’s car, you probably remember them groaning in annoyance whenever they had to drive through mud.

Harsh terrain conditions are not pleasant for vehicles, making it likely to damage them. Not only that, but there are several key characteristics between cars designed to brave the worst of what Mother Earth has to offer, and cars made to drive calmly and carefully over designated roads.

How Are Off-road Cars Different?

Off-road cars are mainly different in gear, equipment, and car parts, You can purchase a car that has been made to perform in off-road conditions since manufacture, or if you’re feeling adventurous or experimental, can try and modify a normal passenger car.

My recommendation would be to avoid that. Since you’re reading this article, odds are you’re probably not a mechanic or a particularly experienced engineer. Therefore, any modifications you make to your vehicle without proper knowledge or education are liable to damage it and make you lose out on a lot of money.

Don’t let me stop you, though. Want to turn a Toyota Prius into an off-road beast? Please do – it’s probably going to be one of the most entertaining things to come out of the hobby! Make sure to speak with a mechanic that can understand and follow your vision, though.

There are four main differences between car parts when it comes to off-road cars and normal ones.

  • Suspension – A good off-road vehicle needs good suspension. Otherwise, you’re going to be shaken and stirred.
  • Wheels – What makes or breaks an off-road car. A solid pair of wheels is an absolute necessity.
  • Bumpers – A lot of people buy aftermarket bumper upgrades for their cars after purchase.

Learn Even More

This article explains only the very basics and should only serve to give you background information on off-roading. If you’d like to learn more, find out everything about off-road cars here.

Otherwise, I hope you’ll be happily joining us whenever the next gathering or even competition takes place. There’s nothing better than spending time with your community!

Step by Step Guide to Tinting your Car Windows

Photo by Teddy Österblom on Unsplash

You may have considered getting your car windows professionally tinted only to find out that it was too expensive to fit into your budget. If this is the case you might be looking for an affordable alternative that can teach you how to tint car windows in an easy step by step guide.

Tinted windows in your vehicle can provide several benefits. While the most obvious advantage is that it gives you and your passengers an added sense of privacy, there are other benefits as well including a reduction in the interior heat of your car, protection from upholstery fading and less glare.

Window tinting can also protect you from the side effects of ultraviolet rays. There are two types of ultraviolet rays — UVA which stands for Type A ultraviolet and UVB which stands for Type B ultraviolet.

Both UVA and UVB rays can cause sunburn and they can be contributing factors in the formation of skin cancer.

UVA rays can also accelerate the skin aging process which can cause signs of premature aging such as skin wrinkles. Exposure to UVB rays are known to cause various skin cancers, including melanoma.

Before you begin the process of tinting your windows, research the different brands to find the one that is best for you. Some brands are better suited for professionals and may require professional installation to satisfy their warranty requirements.

Before you begin, there are several items you need to have on hand to complete the installation process. You will need window cleaner, a spray bottle of hot water, a tape measure, a flat-edge razor, a small squeegee, the window tint film, and the application solution that was included with the window tint film.

Once you make the decision to tint your windows, the first step and the most important, is to prepare your windows by properly cleaning them. It is best to do this in an enclosed space such as a garage to prevent any dust from settling on your windows. Take the time to clean your windows thoroughly and clean them a minimum of three times to make certain the glass is completely clean.

Window tint or film usually comes in rolls. Measure your windows a few times to be sure you have the exact measurement and then cut the sheet of film for each window, leaving an excess of at least 2 inches on each end. You can cut off the excess when you apply the tint.

Apply the application spray that was included with the window film and pull off the adhesive backing. Make sure the adhesive backing is facing the window and apply it by beginning at the bottom of the window and smoothing it out as you go to prevent bubbles from forming underneath the window film. Cut off the excess using a flat-edge razor.

You may want to go to YouTube to find and watch a few videos about installing window tint. Search for videos with a large number of views and favorable comments.

Use a squeegee to smooth out any bubbles or creases. Use a spray bottle filled with hot water to apply to the film as you work from the center outward to the edges. Cut off any excess film.

Notes:

Your window tint film should include guidance on how to maintain it and which cleaning solutions to use. Most manufacturers of window tint film advise that you should not roll down your windows for a minimum of three days after installation.

Chris Hacker Partnering with Reaume Brothers Racing for 2022

MOORESVILLE, N.C.: Reaume Brothers Racing confirmed Friday that Noblesville, Ind. native Chris Hacker will return to the organization next season and compete in a limited NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule in 2022.

Hacker made his Truck Series debut for the Mooresville, N.C.-based organization at World Wide Technology Raceway in August, where his speed and finesse immediately captured the attention of his team, peers and other organizations in the series.

The 22-year-old Hacker began racing at the age of eight in quarter midgets, where he ranked second overall in his home state of Indiana.

From 2009 to 2011, he competed in the Bandolero bandits where he won the Indiana state championship back-to-back in 2010 and 2011.

After consecutive championship seasons in Bandoleros, he advanced to INEX Legend Car Series competition in 2012, where he captured the Indianapolis Speedrome Championship in the Young Lions category.

In 2013, he continued his racing resume acceleration moving from Legends Car to the Champion Racing Association Sportsman category, where he became the youngest driver to win a CRA event at age 13.

The following season, competing in the JEGS All-Star Series, he won the Sportsman of the Year award.

Hacker continued to turn heads in Late Model competition and positioned himself to move into the development ARCA Menards Series in 2020 before turning his attention to Trucks earlier this year.

In all, Hacker competed in four Truck Series races in 2021, including the season-finale at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway in November for Reaume Brothers Racing.

“I’m excited to be able to partner with Reaume Brothers Racing for 2022,” said Hacker. “Not only Josh (Reaume), but the whole crew was really supportive for my debut season. A lot of people underestimate how important the connection between a driver and team is.

“With the connection the RBR team and I have, I believe we are going to be able to accomplish a lot.”

Hacker is the first NASCAR driver known to have a brachial plexus injury (BPI), also known as a brachial plexus lesion. BPI is an injury to the brachial plexus, the network of nerves that conducts signals from the spinal cord to the shoulder, arm and hand.

Only able to have movement in his fingers at first, after three major surgeries, including nerve grafting and tendon transfers, Hacker has established mobility in his arm that is comfortable enough to drive.

Team principal Josh Reaume says the team is ecstatic to have Hacker return next season.

“We are happy to welcome Chris back to Reaume Brothers Racing in 2022,” he said.

“We are excited to continue with him and be a part of his journey in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Chris impressed a lot of people in our trucks last year and we believe he will continue to do so throughout the 2022 season.”

Hacker will begin his sophomore tenure with Reaume Brothers Racing at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway on March 19, 2022. The remainder of his schedule will be announced at a later date.

Sponsorship announcements for Hacker’s effort are forthcoming.

The continued partnership was orchestrated by fgrACCEL, a full-service sports marketing and management agency.

How to ride a motorcycle in the rain?

Photo by Sabda Rhamadhoni on Unsplash

Anyone who rides a motorcycle will tell you that riding in the rain is not enjoyable, particularly if you are not equipped for the limited visibility and slippery conditions that might occur.

Regrettably, most riders rarely give much attention to how to deal with losing control until it really occurs to them – and then they freak out and lose control.

Provided, on the other hand, poor weather forces you to travel on slick roads, however, you can reach your destination safely if you make the necessary preparations and consideration. The objective is to always retain traction and to keep the rubber side of the tire against the road at all times.

Motorcycle Rain Gear

According to Road Snug, a sturdy rain suit (pants and a jacket) and waterproof gloves will give basic protection against the elements for your top and bottom bodies, allowing you to stay dry and alert.

The options for designs and materials are many these days, as is the range of prices to be paid for them. One-piece suits provide more coverage than two-piece suits since there is no “seam” between your trousers and jacket. A two-piece suit, on the other hand, provides exceptional versatility.

You’ll discover that wearing only your jacket or your jeans will provide all of the coverage you need. The ventilation of higher-priced rain gear is often improved, which may make a significant difference whenever it’s rainy and warm outside.

Take it easy. Honestly, just take it easy for a minute. Not only would doing so put less strain on your tires and grip levels, but it will also offer you extra time to look forward, identify potential risks, and devise a strategy for avoiding or minimizing them. You’ll have more time to actually read traffic signs, as well as your braking distances will be shorter as a result.

It’s important to maintain a relaxed state of mind because when your arms and fingers contract, your reactions become jerky, more forceful, and far less accurate. All of the features that make low-grip conditions worse are present.

You must concentrate on riding very efficiently in order to succeed. Do you recognize the Mighty Ducks? In this situation, it’s all about the soft hands. Instead of using your arms to steer, use your feet. It’s best to use light pressure on the pegs in either direction to gently regulate your position and keep your focus up so that you can make gradual, deliberate adjustments to your course.

Handle Your Bike with Extra Care

Because of the reduced traction provided by slick roadways, you must use more care while accelerating, braking, and maneuvering. Allow for extra space and time to stop before performing turns or maneuvering between other cars.

Adjusting the brakes as well as throttle with smaller movements, as well as riding with less of a lean, can help you avoid an accident on slippery pavement. If you stop too suddenly, you may have to hydroplane, or your brakes may lock up. Both circumstances have the potential to result in a serious accident and harm.

Furthermore, it’s always important to check the tire pressure of your bike using a motorcycle TPMS that ensures your tires are safe all time during the ride.

When riding in the dryline from the tire tracks of the car ahead, one thing to keep in mind, particularly for inexperienced riders, is to keep your speed low. This section of the road will provide greater traction than the other sections of the route. Make sure, though, that you don’t ride too closely behind the person you’re following.

Find a dry line

As per the expert, if you find a dry lane that you can utilize, you should take advantage of the opportunity. Take advantage of any dry lanes or sections of lanes that are available for you to bike on. The traction and mobility of dry pavement will be significantly improved. If there is a possibility to avoid walking on wet pavement, take advantage of it.

Regardless of the weather conditions, riding a motorbike is regarded as a safety danger since it is challenging to be seen, and riding inside the rain will make it even more difficult for other vehicles to see you. In the event that you must drive in the rain, make absolutely sure that you have reflective or visible material on your jacket, trousers, helmet, and bicycle.

You want to be certain that other drivers would be capable of seeing you even in the most adverse weather conditions possible. Check that your bike’s lights are operational as well, since maintaining your visibility and the visibility of others ought to be a top concern at all times while you are out riding.

Stick to the Road

Keep in mind that the key to riding a motorbike in the rain is to retain traction in order to prevent hydroplaning. For a two-wheeled vehicle, wet, slick roads provide a greater risk of damage than they do for a four-wheeled vehicle.

Fortunately, whenever it comes to traction, today’s motorcycle tires are technological wonders of the twentieth century. In comparison to their older counterparts, they are far better at retaining a strong grip on the road surface. They’ll keep you standing erect in the rain if you take a few common-sense measures.

Conclusion

Riding through the rain can be incredibly beneficial – and even enjoyable – as long as you take good care of yourself and have your wits about you at all times. Just keep in mind that everyone’s visibility, grip, as well as comfort are reduced as a result of this. So take your time, help your muscles, and make the most of one of the most informative experiences you can now have while riding your bike.

It is always OK to take your time, and you should not feel forced to do otherwise. A wise rider incorporates a small amount of additional time into the ride itinerary to accommodate for the possibility of inclement weather. Avoid riding the maximum amount of miles every day unless you really want to continue riding in inclement weather as well as good weather. Well, if you wish to drive safe in the rain and keep your riding experience hassle-free you must consider these tips.
