SEBRING, Florida (December 2, 2021) – A rapid-fire run of three-straight Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) feature races kicked-off the competition schedule Thursday at Sebring International Raceway for the HSR Sebring Historics and this weekend’s sixth running of HSR Classic Sebring 12 Hour, Pistons and Props, presented by the Alan Jay Automotive Network.

The undeniable star or the day was Todd Treffert who continued his recent reign over Sebring International Raceway with two feature race wins Thursday in his Speedconcepts 1974 No. 141 Porsche 911 IROC prepared by the 901 Shop.

Treffert scored the overall and GT Classic (GTC) victories in the B.R.M. Endurance Challenge race and backed it up less than an hour later with another flag-to-flag triumph in the HSR Classic RS Cup race.

Combined with the season-opening HSR Spring Fling, Treffert has amassed a run of six-straight overall B.R.M. Endurance Challenge victories at Sebring the last few years. His Classic RS Cup win today was also his third straight victory at the Sebring Historics in the all-Porsche class series for 1970’s era 911 RS/RSR and IROC models.

Yves Scemama finished second overall and in GTC in the B.R.M. race in his 1974 No. 52 Porsche 911 IROC while Damon DeSantis and David Hinton completed the overall and GTC podiums in the 1974 No. 82 Porsche 911 RSR. Both the Scemama and DeSantis Porsches are prepared by Heritage Motorsports.

The Vintage class victory went to the family team of Tom McGlynn and his son Jimmy McGlynn in their No. 181 Porsche 914/6 prepared by the 901 Shop.

The McGlynns crossed the finish line just behind the GTC top-three and joined the other Vintage podium finishers in securing overall finishing positions four through six in the 31-car field.

Travis Engen finished second in Vintage and rounded out the overall top five in his GMT Racing 1962 No. 1 Lotus 23B. John Deford completed the Vintage podium while also taking sixth overall in his 1970 No. 57 Porsche 914/6 prepared by the 901 Shop.

Thursday’s other feature race winner was Pierce Marshall who topped a fast field of recently retired GT cars for the HSR Stoner Car Care Global GT victory in his Matador Motorsports 2016 No. 3 Corvette C7.R.

A pair of Porsches from Hairy Dog Grrrage secured the final two Stoner Car Care Global GT podium positions.

Cody Ware finished second in his 2017 No. 412 Porsche 991 Cup ahead of the team’s similar sister entry of Jason Krikorian in the No. 36 Porsche 991 Cup.

Thursday wrapped up with the season-ending Classic RS Cup race that saw Scooter Gabel and Mike Banz chase Treffert to the finish. Gabel finished second in the Alegra Motorsports 1973 No. 122 Porsche 911 while Banz came home third in his Heritage Motorsports 1974 No. 13 Porsche 911 RSR

Chase Elliott Wins Fourth Straight NMPA Most Popular Driver Award

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Chase Elliott continues to follow his family tradition, both on the race track and in the eyes of NASCAR Cup Series fans.

For the fourth straight year, Elliott has been named NMPA Most Popular Driver present by Hooters, the only major NASCAR award determined solely by the vote of race fans. Elliott easily outpolled the competition to win the 2021 honor.

Since 1990, drivers named Elliott or Earnhardt have monopolized the award. Chase’s father, Bill Elliott, won the honor a record 16 times, with Dale Earnhardt Jr. a close second as a 15-time NMPA Most Popular Driver.

Now Elliott is building his own tradition as the decisive winner of the award.

Historically, the NMPA Most Popular Driver presented by Hooters has honored the giants of the NASCAR Cup Series, from seven-time champion Richard Petty to David Pearson to Bobby Allison to Cale Yarborough to Darrell Waltrip—all Cup champions and all early selections to the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

The award was first presented in 1953, with Lee Petty earning the honor for the first of two consecutive years.

Historic Stock Car #MoreDriven by Goodyear Racing Award Concludes this Weekend at Sebring

Three-Race Battle Within HSR Group 8 Stock Car Championship Concludes Inaugural Season this Weekend at HSR Sebring Historics

SEBRING, Florida (December 2, 2021) – The inaugural edition of the Historic Stock Car #MoreDriven by Goodyear Racing Award wraps up this weekend at Sebring International Raceway where a strong field in the Group 8 Stock Car division has turned out to compete in the season-ending HSR Sebring Historics on the legendary 3.74-mile road course.

Goodyear Racing and Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) entered into the “MoreDriven by Goodyear Racing partnership earlier this year as a three-race battle awarding top Group 8 race finishers at select 2021 HSR race events.

The #MoreDriven Award began at last April’s 43rd HSR Mitty at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, continued with the HSR Fall Historics at Road Atlanta in September and now concludes at Sebring where two more Goodyear Racing winners will be crowned.

Top performers in Historic Stock Car #MoreDriven by Goodyear Award feature races receive a certificate for a set of Goodyear Racing vintage stock radials, which are already a premium tire of choice for HSR Group 8 competitors.

Among the highlight entries at Sebring is multiple Hall of Famer Bill Elliott who returns to the wheel of his 2014 No. 19 Chevrolet Camaro prepared by Vintage Race Car Restorations. Elliott has earned multiple HSR Group 8 wins the last few seasons at Road Atlanta in addition to reaching the top step of victory lane in his most recent appearance at Barber Motorsports Park in 2019.

Another NASCAR notable competing at Sebring this weekend is Joe Nemechek who makes his HSR debut with his own and established NEMCO Motorsports team that has been in operation for more than 30 years. Nemechek competes this weekend in an ex-Terry Labonte Kellogg’s Corn Flakes 2006 No. 5 Chevrolet Monte Carlo owned by Larry Hoopaugh.

Stock Car Group 8 has become one of HSR’s fastest growing and most popular divisions in recent years. This weekend’s Group 8 field at Sebring rivals the 20-car entry for the 43rd HSR Mitty, with entry lists comprised of primarily modern but retired stock cars from the last 20 years.

Historic Stock Car #MoreDriven by Goodyear Racing Award winners in the opening rounds at Road Atlanta include Brian Norman, Mark Furcini, Jack Finch and Elliott.

In addition to the Sebring Historics, the major on-track attraction this weekend is the HSR Classic Sebring 12 Hour, Pistons and Props, tribute race that takes place Saturday and Sunday. It begins with a symbolic 12 hours of non-stop competition Saturday before all four competing Run Groups contest a final round of races Sunday morning to bring the Classic Sebring 12 Hour to a finish.

Vintage airplanes join the celebration on Friday after arriving throughout that morning at nearby Sebring Regional Airport. The traditional “Parade of Planes” from the airport to the Sebring competitor paddock is scheduled for Friday at 4:30 p.m. EST.

As most of the new followers will be fake accounts and bots that can unfollow you too in some weeks. However, there is a different side to this as well. When you buy followers, you are gaining the trust of other potential profiles and this can enhance the probability of real people following as well. One key point to remember here is that make sure you aren’t going crazy with the purchases or gaining thousands of followers in a bit.

While you are having just a few posts on your account and followers in thousands, it tends to set off the alarm bells for potential followers and Instagram as well. 7 Ways to Ensure your Car Stays in Top Shape All Year

Photo by Malte Luk from Pexels

We all need to do what we can to keep our vehicles in tip-top running order, but it’s often the simplest tasks that are often neglected. For example, according to some estimates, as many as 18% of all vehicles have low brake fluids and other fluids.

While it’s easy to neglect proper car maintenance, you’re potentially compromising your safety. With proper maintenance, you’ll keep your car running smoothly, and it also saves you time and money in potential downtime and repair costs. Proper maintenance will also help to increase your fuel economy and will keep your car running a lot longer than without it.

Here are some of the ways to keep your vehicle in top shape all year.

Check & Change the Fluids

You can effectively prevent wear and tear by making sure that you carry out regular oil changes and check all your fluids to ensure they are at the appropriate levels. When you’re checking your fluids, you can also gauge the overall health of your vehicle. You may be able to discover potential issues and mitigate them before they become more severe.

In addition to changing your oil every 5,000 or 7,500 miles, you should change your transmission fluids every 30,000 miles. Check your coolants a few times every year and change the coolant levels every 2 to 3 years. It’s so important to make sure that all your fluid levels are properly maintained and changed.

Inspect the windows

Car glass is a safety and protective feature of your vehicle, so you need to be sure that it is undamaged. You should check your car windshield, all side windows, and the rear window and look for chips, breaks, cracks, scratches, or holes in the glass.

A glass repair shop will quickly fix the glass if you find any problems. In some cases, you might be able to repair the crack or prevent the scratch from getting worse. Even if you do need a complete glass replacement, you can usually rely on your car insurance to cover the cost.

Wash Your Car

When you keep your car vacuumed and clean, your vehicle will look great and last longer. Use the automatic car wash at your local gas station when you fill up your car tank. It’s a convenient way to keep your car fueled along with clean and sparkling at the same time.

When you regularly vacuum your car, you can keep the dirt and grime from working into the carpet and seats. Regular washes prevent long-term damage from sap and other damaging substances. When you clean and deodorize your car, you’ll be more comfortable when you drive. You can also wipe down the dash and leather seats with protective products to shield them from the sun.

Apply Wax

Wax is another way to protect your car and keep it in tip-top shape. It keeps your paint in good condition and helps to prevent cosmetic damage to your car’s body. We usually recommend that you wax anywhere from once every six months to once a year. But you can wax every three months if you prefer.

Change Your Tires & Keep Them Properly Inflated

Regularly examine your tire treads with a depth gauge to determine your tires’ level of wear and tear. Proper tire maintenance and care are safety concerns. You’ll need to change your tires as needed and also ensure that they are properly inflated.

As part of your tire check, you should check your belts and battery to ensure they don’t need to be replaced. You can make these maintenance items part of the checklist when you take your car in for regular maintenance to your mechanic as well.

Protect Your Car from the Weather

When it’s cold outside, start your car and let the engine warm up before driving. This will only take a few minutes out of your day, but it can help to protect your car engine from any damage and keep your car running strong.

If possible, park in the shade or inside a structure, such as a garage to protect your vehicle from damage and the elements. If you protect your car from the effects of UV and hot or cold weather, you will have a lot less damage to the interior and exterior of your car.

Maintain Insurance

There are many simple solutions for keeping your car in top shape throughout the year, but the easiest one is to make sure you’ve got appropriate car insurance for your needs. It’s easy to compare car insurance rates and find the one that fits into your budget. It’s also the best way to protect the investment that you already made in your car.

Car maintenance is easy, and it just takes a bit of time and commitment to a regular schedule. The benefits can outweigh any inconvenience when you know that your car is safe, comfortable, and secure. Better yet, it should continue to run, rain or shine, and be the reliable car that will take you to the places you want to go, when you want to go.

Hooters extends sponsorship of Chase Elliott for three more seasons

CONCORD, N.C. (Dec. 2, 2021) – With a new three-year contract, Hooters has extended its primary sponsorship of 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion Chase Elliott and his No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 team fielded by Hendrick Motorsports.

Hooters, the iconic American restaurant brand with a deep history in NASCAR, will continue to be a primary sponsor of Elliott for three races each season through 2024. The company joined 14-time NASCAR Cup Series champions Hendrick Motorsports as a two-race primary sponsor of Elliott in January 2017 and added a third race beginning in 2019.

In 2022, the No. 9 Hooters Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will appear June 5 at World Wide Technology Raceway and in the NASCAR Cup Series playoff races at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sept. 17 and Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Oct. 16.

“For five seasons, Chase has been a brand champion for Hooters both on and off the track, and we are thrilled to extend our partnership with him and Hendrick Motorsports,” said Hooters vice president of brand marketing Monica Fleury. “As the home of race fans, Hooters will continue to provide one-of-a-kind experiences fans can only get at our restaurants. Both Chase’s fan base and NASCAR fans are extremely loyal, and we plan to continue to feed this spirit and passion for years to come.”

Hooters, “The Official Home of Race Fans,” has made Elliott a cornerstone of its marketing efforts. The driver is consistently featured in the company’s national advertising with a variety of special offers and promotions tied to the No. 9 racing program.

“Hooters has been a fun partner to work with over the years,” Elliott said. “They’re a laid-back group that does a great job of promoting their brand and including our team as a big piece of their marketing. They do a lot with each of their three primary races but also make the most of the partnership throughout the entire season. The next several years will be exciting for our team and for the sport, and I’m glad to have Hooters back on board for the ride.”

Elliott, who turned 26 on Sunday, has never missed the Cup Series playoffs in his six full seasons at NASCAR’s top level. The Dawsonville, Georgia, native earned rookie of the year honors in 2016 and secured his first Cup championship in 2020. He has already won 13 career points-paying races, including two in 2021 when he appeared in the Championship 4 for the second consecutive season.

“Hooters does a terrific job maximizing the program with Chase and the No. 9 team,” said Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports. “To see our partnership deliver valuable results for them is very rewarding. Chase is a champion driver and tremendous spokesperson for the brand, and we look forward to building on that success in the seasons to come.”

  • Sixth Running of Classic Sebring 12 Hour, Pistons and Props, presented by the Alan Jay Automotive Network this Weekend at Sebring International Raceway
  • NASCAR Stars Bill Elliott and Joe Nemechek Among Diverse Lineup of Drivers and Legendary Cars Competing Through Sunday at Sebring

SEBRING, Florida (December 1, 2021) – The Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) Classic Sebring 12 Hour, Pistons and Props, moved off to a fantastic start Wednesday at Sebring International Raceway where near-perfect Florida weather provided the ideal backdrop for an all-day test session in advance of four days of vintage and historic racing competition on the legendary 3.74-mile circuit.

The HSR Classic Sebring 12 Hour, Pistons and Props, honors the legendary 12 Hours of Sebring sports car race and the facility’s rich aviation history. Hendricks Field was a World War II era civil and military air field on which the famous 12-hour sports car race has been run for nearly 70 years.

Officially titled the HSR Classic Sebring 12 Hour, Pistons and Props, presented by the Alan Jay Automotive Network, the blockbuster event features historic and vintage sports car racing and a Friday “fly-in” and weekend display of equally awe-inspiring military and civilian aircraft from the last half century and World War II era.

Among the rare sports cars competing at the HSR Classic Sebring 12 is No. 5 Antigua Pro Racing 1968 No. 5 Bizzarini GT Competition (pictured at top) prepared by KMW Motorsports. The Ford-powered Italian exotic is one four owned by Carlo Falcone, who is entered to compete in both the HSR Classic Sebring 12 and the co-headline HSR Sebring Historics, which will determine the 2021 Champions of the full-season WeatherTech Sprint, Stoner Car Care Global GT, Sasco Sports International/American Challenge and B.R.M. Endurance Challenge series.

The Sebring Historics has attracted a strong entry of Stock Car competitors in Group 8 for the final bonuses of this year’s inaugural Historic Stock Car More Driven by Goodyear program, which awards four Goodyear D4920 vintage stock radials to the winners of select HSR Group 8 races.

The strong lineup of stock car competitors at Sebring includes NASCAR stars Bill Elliott, who was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America (MSHFA) in 2007 and the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2015, and Joe “Front Row Joe” Nemechek.

Elliott competes in his 2014 No. 19 Chevrolet Camaro while Nemechek wheels an ex-Terry Labonte Kellogg’s Corn Flakes 2006 No. 5 Chevrolet Monte Carlo owned by Larry Hoopaugh. Nemechek makes his HSR debut with his own and established NEMCO Motorsports team that has been in operation for more than 30 years.

Elliott, who competes at Sebring with Carlus Gann and Vintage Race Car Restorations (VRCR), also returns to the wheel of VRCR’s 1970 No. 9 Ford Mustang Boss 302. Elliott drove the Mustang to the overall victory in the 2019 Sasco Sports International/American Challenge race at Barber Motorsports Park and looks for another Sasco win in the Boss 302 at Sebring on Friday.

The major on-track part of the HSR Classic Sebring is the 12 Hours of Sebring tribute race that takes place Saturday and Sunday. It begins with a symbolic 12 hours of non-stop competition Saturday before all four competing Run Groups contest a final round of races Sunday morning to bring the Classic Sebring 12 Hour to a finish.

The vintage planes join the celebration on Friday after arriving throughout that morning at nearby Sebring Regional Airport. The traditional “Parade of Planes” from the airport to the Sebring competitor paddock is scheduled for Friday at 4:30 p.m. EST.

Gateway Dirt Nationals and Niece Motorsports Announce “Win & You’re In”

WINNER OF SATURDAY NIGHT SUPER LATE MODEL FEATURE TO WIN TRUCK RIDE

ST. LOUIS, MO. — Gateway Dirt is back on December 2-4 and the event has big news ahead of this weekend’s spectacle inside of the Dome at America’s Center. The Gateway Dirt Nationals has teamed up with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Team, Niece Motorsports, to present a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The winner of Saturday night’s Super Late Model feature will not only win the race’s $30,000 prize, but on top of that, one lucky driver will also be awarded the driver’s seat of a Niece Motorsports Chevrolet at Knoxville on June 18th, 2022, when the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series makes its stop in Knoxville, Iowa.

The “WIN & YOU’RE IN” program offers a unique opportunity for some of the country’s best grassroots racers. Niece Motorsports takes great pride in being a team of “racers” and the “WIN & YOU’RE IN” program is a clear example of giving back to grassroots racing.

“So many of us at this organization cut our teeth in racing at dirt tracks,” said Niece Motorsports General Manager Cody Efaw. “I truly believe that these drivers are some of the most talented in the country, so we’re excited to give someone another platform to showcase their abilities.”

Gateway Dirt Nationals promoter Cody Sommer is well known for unique promotions and feels this is something that continues to set this event apart from the industry.

“When we sat down and put this together it really got me excited to think about it,” said Sommer. “Imagine if Tyler Carpenter would have won this in 2019; this opportunity for that grassroots-level racer is truly once in a lifetime and it just feels great to be a part of something like this for this year’s event.”

The event takes place Thursday, Dec. 2 through Saturday, Dec. 4 at the Dome at America’s Center in Downtown St. Louis, MO. Tickets are available at www.GatewayDirt.com and those not attending can stream it LIVE at www.FLORacing.com.
