Spire Motorsports to Showcase Peacock Aboard No. 77 in Season Finale

CONCORD, N.C. (November 2, 2021) – Spire Motorsports announced today that Peacock – NBCUniversal’s streaming service – will serve as the primary sponsor of the team’s No. 77 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE with driver Justin Haley in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway.

“We’re thrilled to close out the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season with our friends at Peacock with an absolutely incredible paint scheme,” said Spire Motorsports co-owner T.J. Puchyr. “NBC has provided robust and compelling NASCAR coverage since picking up its portion of the schedule in June at Nashville Superspeedway. Given all NBC does for the sport, we’re proud to fly the Peacock flag in Sunday’s season finale. Spire Motorsports prides itself on bringing exciting and vibrant paint schemes to the track and I think our design team knocked it out of the park with this one. We can’t wait to unload and finish out the season with a solid run at Phoenix.”

Haley earned his lone Cup Series victory in stunning fashion behind the wheel of Spire Motorsports No. 77 Chevrolet on July 7, 2019 at Daytona International Speedway. Over the last three seasons, the Winamac, Ind., native has made 35 starts on NASCAR’s senior circuit, tallying one top-five and trio of top-10 finishes.

In NASCAR Xfinity Series competition, he has earned four wins, 22 top-five and 64 top-10 finishes in 100 starts, including an appearance in the 2020 Championship 4. The 21-year-old is sixth in the series’ point standings heading into the final race of 2021.

While Sunday’s start will be his last for Spire Motorsports, Haley’s presence will be felt across the organization indefinitely.

“Justin Haley has been a staple with Spire Motorsports since we began this adventure and we’ll never forget celebrating our first Cup win with him at Daytona,” added Puchyr. “He’s done everything we’ve ever asked of him, and then some. Justin has an amazing opportunity in front of him with Kaulig Racing in the Cup Series next year. My business partner Jeff Dickerson and I are beyond proud of him and grateful for all he has done to help our team grow. We’ll always be close by and wish him only the very best as he moves into a full-time Cup ride next season.”

Peacock offers a massive catalog of current season hits, iconic movies and TV shows, as well as live news and sports including Sunday Night Football, Premier League, NASCAR, INDYCAR and Nitro Rallycross. Peacock also streams daily sports programming on the NBC Sports channel, including Peacock Original ”Brother from Another” with Michael Smith and Michael Holley, and staples like “The Dan Patrick Show,” “Pro Football Talk Live” and ”The Rich Eisen Show.”

Spire Motorsports collaborated with Peacock earlier this season when Corey LaJoie’s No. 7 entry featured “Boss Baby: Family Business” in the Quaker State 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race from Phoenix Raceway will be televised live on NBC Sunday, November 7 beginning at 3 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). The 36th and final race on the 2021 NCS schedule will be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.

About Spire Motorsports …
Spire Motorsports was established in 2018 and is co-owned by longtime NASCAR industry executives Jeff Dickerson and Thaddeus “T.J.” Puchyr. Spire Motorsports earned an upset victory for the ages in its first full season when Justin Haley took the checkered flag in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway on July 7, 2019.

BRODY ROA SET FOR THIS WEEK’S OVAL NATIONALS AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY

(Cypress, CA, November 1, 2021) Brody Roa will be making his last 2021 Southern California racing appearances this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the “25th Anniversary Oval Nationals” at Perris Auto Speedway.  Spectator gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with racing at 7:00 all three nights.

The Garden Grove, California driver will return to the popular Riverside, County racetrack just two weeks after he turned a dramatic drive from the back of the pack to finish fourth on October 23rd.  After running in the top five most of the first half of that race, Roa took evasive action to stay out of a wreck in front of him on lap 16.  As he stopped on the track to try and avoid hitting a flipping car, he had to go to the rear for the restart.  From there he drove forward and had come all the way back to eighth in 10-laps.  In dramatic fashion, he picked off four more cars in just two laps to take a hard fought and well deserved fourth place finish.

Perris Auto Speedway was also the site of the biggest win thus far in Roa’s career.  On November 9, 2017, Roa finished third in the opening night preliminary for the “Oval Nationals” which features the best drivers from the West Coast vs the best from the Midwest.  Twenty-four hours later he started on the pole in the “Evelyn Pratt Memorial” and led every inch of the way for not only his first ever win at Perris, but also his first USAC National Sprint Car victory.

“This is the biggest one by far,” the happy victor told the crowd after that win.  “To win a national is pretty incredible and to get our first Perris win after being so close  so many times, that just takes it to another level. I am almost speechless after this one.  I do not know how to react, what to do or what to say.”

Despite being plagued by a car issue the next night, Roa still started and finished sixth in the 40-lap finale.

Two years ago at the last “Oval Nationals,” Roa was not in his own car and his performance was not up to its usual standards.  In the preliminary mains he finished 13th and 14th.  In the Saturday night finale, a blown engine forced him out early with a frustrating 26th place finish.

Roa will arrive at this week’s “Oval Nationals” second in the USAC/CRA Series standings, 72-points out of the lead with five races to go in the season. This year at Perris he has wins in the “Salute to Indy” and the “California Racer’s Hall of Fame Night.”  In the other five races he has contested on the Riverside County oval this year, he has been in the top five four times with second, third, fourth, and fifth-place finishes.  The only time the 30-year-old finished out of the top five was when he broke while running second at the season opener on April 24th.  In the six races he has completed, he has an average finish of 2.66.

In addition to the three nights of racing, there will be a practice session for Oval Nationals entered cars that will be free for spectators on Wednesday, November 3rd.  The practice will begin at 5:00 p.m. and $2.00 pizza, beer and soda will be available to the fans.

Fans who would like to attend this week’s race can find Perris Auto Speedway on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds at 18700 Lake Perris Drive in Perris, California (92571).  Tickets will be available all three nights at the tracks ticket office.  The race will not sell out.  Fans who would like to purchase tickets in advance can do so 24 hours a day online at https://www.tix.com/ticket-sales/pas/7 or by phone at 1-800-595-4849.  The track website is http://www.perrisautospeedway.com/ and the office phone number is (951) 940-0134.

After this week’s Perris event, Roa and the crew will cross the desert for the final race of 2021, the “54th Annual Western World Championships,” at the Arizona Speedway on November 12th and 13th.

Brody Roa merchandise will make great Christmas gifts for his fans.  You can see it all in his online store that is packed with great items including t-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, beanies, baby onesies, plush blankets, jigsaw puzzles, stickers, notebooks, tote bags, wine tumblers, mugs, bandana pet collars and more.  To see check it out, please visit the following website https://www.brodyroa.com/shop/

Roa and the team would like to thank the following for being part of the 91R’s 2021 campaign.  HD Industries, Biker Bruce Fischer, Inland Rigging, Burris Racing, Sander Engineering, ALR Virtual Services, Caltrol, Competition Suspension, K-1 Race Gear, Molecule, Rod End Supply, Baldwin Filters and Jambo BBQ Pits.  In addition, the veteran driver offers thanks to Fastenal, Coopers Propane, Total Lubricants, Marina Pools, TJM Oilfield Distribution, Certex, and Biker Bruce for sponsoring the #8M.

How To Play Online Casinos In India With Minimal Risks?

Photo by Carl Raw on Unsplash

There are risks involved in playing casino games online. These risks are linked to online scam artists, which are lurking around every corner of the Internet. It is your responsibility to avoid online casino scams. With in-depth research, you will minimize your risk of becoming the next scam victim. However, you must first become familiar with the risks associated with online casinos. To help jumpstart your effort, a list of safety tips is provided in the content below.

Know The Laws

India has strict laws when it comes to online casino games. The Public Gambling Act of 1867 makes nearly all types of gambling illegal in India. While Indian officials continue to monitor for illegal online gambling, there is nothing that can be done about virtual casinos on offshore servers.

Enforcing the laws when Indian residents wager on offshore online casinos is impossible. Officials are only responsible for online casinos hosted on servers in India.

License Validation

The first step to avoiding online scams is license validation. Every legitimate online casino must have an active gambling license. Applying for a gambling license in India is not that difficult. However, the approval process may take a few weeks or months to complete. In the meantime, you can continue building your online casino, adding new games daily until the selection is enough to entice customers to keep returning.

The best online casino in India will be licensed as a game provider.

How Does India Classify Online Games?

Indian officials categorize casino games into two classifications – game of skill and game of chance. It is important to know how India categorizes different casino games. This will help keep you on the legal side of the law when playing casino games.

The game of skill classification includes all games, requiring some level of skill to play. Indian residents playing games that meet the criteria of a game of skill may not be breaking the law. The skills required to play these games include logical thinking, analytical decision-making, and special training.

Some Indian states consider games of skill games legal. However, you should validate the legalities before playing any type of casino game.

The game of chance classification includes all games played at random. As the classification suggests, games of chance games is all about luck. If you are lucky, you will win. If you are unlucky, you will lose. These games can be played without special training or skills. Indian residents playing games of chance games may be doing so illegally.

Is Lottery Games Illegal In India?

This is a great question for someone who enjoys playing lottery games. No, Indian regulations do not bank lottery games. Residents can play various lottery games, including Punjab, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Assam, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Nagaland.

Is Online Gaming Legal In India?

Yes and no, as some states ban online gaming while others legalize online gaming. According to the Public Gambling Act of 1976, online gaming is legal in Daman, Sikkim, Goa, and Nagaland.

Only Nagaland and Sikkim have legalized e-gaming, which is classified as games of chance. Of course, you can bypass the restriction in your state with a VPN for gambling. Also, it will help to stay safe while playing.

NASCAR Top-10 Power Rankings: Martinsville

Photo by Ted Seminara for SpeedwayMedia.com.

Note: The quotes in this article are fictional.

1. Kyle Larson: Larson suffered a pit road speeding penalty and finished 14th at Martinsville.

“They call Martinsville’s half-mile track the ‘Paperclip,'” Elliott said. “And it’s a ‘staple’ on the NASCAR schedule.”

“My confidence is at an all-time high. I’m going to Phoenix with the intention of taking what is rightfully mine, which is the 2021 Cup championship. I hope my confidence doesn’t come off as arrogance. The last thing I want to do is say something I’m going to regret.”

2. Denny Hamlin: Hamlin was leading at Martinsville with six laps to go when Alex Bowman slid up into Hamlin’s No. 11 Toyota, sending it into the wall. Hamlin finished 24th, which was still good enough to advance him to the final round.

“I tried to block Bowman’s victory burnout,” Hamlin said. “But that’s not my final revenge. If he’s gonna steal a grandfather clock from me, I’m gonna ‘take my time’ and plan an elaborate revenge scenario. He won’t know what hit him. Well, actually he will.”

3. Chase Elliott: Elliott finished 16th in the Xfinity 500 and clinched a spot in the championship round.

“I actually clinched a spot after sweeping the first two stages,” Elliott said. “That has to be the first time I’ve said ‘my day is done’ with 240 laps left and I was happy about it.”

4. Joey Logano: Logano came home 10th at Martinsville, which wasn’t good enough to advance as a championship contender.

“As you would expect,” Logano said, “I feel ‘left out.’ Not necessarily left out of the playoffs, but out of these developing feuds that will almost certainly carry over into next year. I just don’t feel like myself when I’m not battling for a championship, and also don’t feel like myself when I’m not the object of hatred.”

5. Kyle Busch: Busch finished second at Martinsville, but it wasn’t enough to advance to the championship round. Busch tangled with Brad Keselowski on the final lap, and the two traded insults in interviews after the race.

“I know Brad’s going to Roush Fenway Racing next season,” Busch said, “but he’ll always be a big ‘No. 2’ in my book.”

6. Brad Keselowski: Keselowski finished third at Martinsville, and tangled with Kyle Busch on the final lap.

“Kyle and I talked trash back and forth after the race,” Keselowski said. “That’s pretty much what Cup Series feuds have become—drivers talking a lot of smack, but no actual smack ever occurring.”

7. Alex Bowman: Bowman spun Denny Hamlin from the lead and went on to win the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville.

“Not only did I cost Denny the win,” Bowman said, “I prevented Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski from advancing. I don’t deserve criticism; I deserve praise, for keeping two a-holes out of the championship round.”

8. Martin Truex Jr.: Truex eked out a fourth-place finish at Martinsville despite a damaged car that tagged the wall on lap 471 after contact with Aric Almirola. Truex nabbed the final playoff transfer spot.

“When you put 40 cars on a half-mile track,” Truex said, “there’s bound to be 20 that don’t belong there. One of those was Aric Almirola. He put me into the wall in the car with ‘IHOP’ on it. Luckily, for him, I still advanced. I just might go to IHOP and have myself a ‘Breakfast Of Potential Champion.’ Aric can just ‘eat it.'”

9. William Byron: Byron finished fifth at Martinsville, posting his 12th top five of the season.

“It was Halloween,” Byron said, “and a lot of drivers experienced scares. But if you really want a Halloween scare at Martinsville, then ask for the ingredients list of a Martinsville hot dog.”

10. Ryan Blaney: Blaney finished 11th at Martinsville and failed to advance in the playoffs.

“Penske Racing won’t have a car in the Final 4,” Blaney said. “That’s sad, but I expect a Penske car will have an ‘impact’ on the championship round, probably when Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch continue their feud at Phoenix and take out a championship driver.”

Notes of Interest

● When Kevin Harvick hits pit road for four tires and fuel, he always pits like a boss. Sunday at Phoenix Raceway, Harvick’s fans can pit like a boss, too. Bush Beer has partnered with Pit Boss Grills to give away a custom Busch Beer grill and smoker. All fans have to do is log into their Twitter feed, follow @BuschBeer, turn on their notifications, and then every time Harvick makes a pit stop during the race, tweet #BuschPitBoss and #Sweepstakes and they’ll be entered for a chance to win a Pit Boss 850G Navigator Series grill and smoker. Tailgates will be lit with its eight-in-one cooking versatility, allowing the winner to smoke, bake, braise, roast, grill, barbecue, char-grill and sear. It’s a boss move when you bring this kind of heat, and it can all be had with a tweet.

● Who owns Phoenix Raceway? NASCAR or Harvick? NASCAR owns the facility, at least on paper, but Harvick owns the track. The driver of the No. 4 Busch Light #BuschPitBoss Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) has won a record nine NASCAR Cup Series races at the 1-mile oval. No other active Cup Series driver has won more than three races at Phoenix. Former Cup Series driver Jimmie Johnson is the closest to Harvick with four wins at the track.

● Harvick hasn’t finished outside the top-10 in his last 16 starts at Phoenix. The last time he finished outside the top-10 was March 3, 2013 when he finished 13th. That was nearly nine years ago when “Harlem Shake” by Baauer was the No. 1 song on the Billboard music charts thanks to the meme it inspired. Don’t remember it? No problem. Let the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes show you how it was done back in 2013 by clicking here.

● Of Harvick’s nine NASCAR Cup Series victories at Phoenix, he won four straight between November 2013 and March 2015. The streak ended when Harvick finished second at Phoenix in November 2015, but when the series returned to the track in March 2016, Harvick won again. Harvick is the only driver to win four Cup Series races in a row at Phoenix. Johnson was next best with three straight wins between November 2007 and November 2008. Only five drivers have won consecutive Cup Series races at Phoenix, but Harvick is the only driver to win consecutive races twice, as he also swept both races in 2006.

● In 37 career NASCAR Cup Series starts at Phoenix, Harvick has earned an average finish of 8.8, the best of any active Cup Series driver. Denny Hamlin is next best with an average finish of 10.8 over 32 Cup Series starts.

● To finish first, one must first finish. Proving this mantra is Harvick’s lap completion rate of 99.8 percent at Phoenix. In fact, of the 11,551 laps available to Harvick at Phoenix, he has only missed 21 of those laps. Harvick’s first career NASCAR Cup Series start at Phoenix came on Oct. 28, 2001 when he started 37th and finished 17th.

● With the Estrella Mountains as its backdrop, Phoenix is a picture-perfect racetrack. Harvick has also been perfect at the desert oval. He has scored a perfect driver rating (150.0) at Phoenix on three occasions – November 2006 when he started second, led 252 of 312 laps, and won; November 2014 when he started third, led 264 of 312 laps, and won; and March 2015, when he started first, led 224 of 312 laps, and won.

● Harvick has also proven to be successful at Phoenix outside of the NASCAR Cup Series. He owns a NASCAR Xfinity Series win (April 2006) and four NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victories (November 2002, October 2003, November 2008 and November 2009).

● Harvick is not a part of the Championship 4, but he’s still competing at a championship-caliber level. The 45-year-old racer from Bakersfield, California, comes into Phoenix with 10 top-five and 23 top-10 finishes this season. There are only two other drivers who have more top-10s this year than Harvick – Championship 4 participants Kyle Larson (25 top-10s) and Denny Hamlin (24 top-10s).

Kevin Harvick, Driver of the No. 4 Busch Light #BuschPitBoss Ford Mustang

How would you assess this season?

“That’s a good question. For us as a group on the 4 car, I think we’ve worked through things pretty well. We’ve been in position to win two or three races, but one thing or another didn’t let that happen or didn’t make it happen, however you want to look at it. But I’ve had a lot worse seasons, I know that for sure. I’ve lived through a whole bunch that were way worse than this one. This one has been a bit of a struggle to get the finishes that we have, but in the end, I’ve raced like that for years in my career. You know, a lot of people that watch and cover the sport in this particular period forget about 20 years ago. It’s hard to explain to people some of the things that you’ve been through. I feel like my first press conference was the biggest one I’ll ever do, the first year was the most stressful I’ll ever have, 2002 was a horrendous year, and somehow we won a race that year playing the track-position game and put ourselves in the right spot. I’ve personally been through some pretty tough years and this one has just been a struggle because you had to work so hard to get everything you have. I think from a team standpoint, we’ve also learned a lot about the other side of the fence as far as having to dig your heels in and do things that you haven’t had to do. And whether you like it or not, that race is coming up next week and you’re going to have to participate, whether your car is slow or fast, and you’ve got to figure out how to make the most out of that. For us, I know we have 23 top-10s, and you look at the top-fives, they’re not where we want them to be. But when you look at the overall picture and the grind that we’ve been through this year, I think everybody’s done a good job and I think a lot of that comes from the maturity and the experience of this Busch Light team and being together so long.”

After a nine-win season in 2020, was there added pressure to perform this year because of how high you set the bar last year?

“It’s really no pressure. We know what we can and can’t do, and we go out and do those things. The noise from the outside never really affects anything that we do just because there are so many things that everybody doesn’t know or understand about the situation, and I think that’s really what’s kept us in the game. You can’t take an eighth- or ninth-place finish and turn it into a 30th-place finish. That’s really, in the end, what’s kept us going and put us in the playoffs and put us in a points position to do what we need to do and put us through the first round and kept us in it the second round. You can’t exceed the limits of your racecar because it wrecks or put yourself in a position to get wrecked. That’s really by not listening to, ‘You need to go faster, or you need to do this or you need to do that.’ You do what you know you can do and that’s really what our team has done well throughout the year.”

Twenty-three top-10 finishes so far this season, with seven of them coming in the last nine races. Have you been able to be more consistent as you return to tracks you competed on earlier this year?

“For sure. I think we had less problems with our cars than we really thought we had at the beginning of the season. I think a lot of it was just the process of making the right adjustments on our cars and getting the balance closer to where it needed to be. We have made the cars better, but our guys have done a good job of just really putting everything together to make sure we’re not in right field to start these races. We’ve been able to adjust on our car to make it better because we’re closer at the beginning of the race. And just getting what you can out of the day and going to the next one. It’s not the way we usually race, which is you’re always on offense and going forward and trying to do those things. You have moments and time periods during the race that you can do that, but you have to be very methodical about the things that you do on pit road with changes on the car. We’ve all done a good job of that.”

Did the team’s development of the racecar get curtailed this year because there was a parts freeze as teams began the transition to the NextGen car in 2022?

“I think our team is good enough to where we could’ve alleviated some of the headaches we experienced if we would’ve had practice and those types of things throughout the year, just because of the fact we would’ve known, ‘Whoa, our balance is way off on where we need to be this weekend.’ And I can relate to Rodney (Childers, crew chief), that it’s not just off a little bit, it’s off a lot, and we need to have a massive reboot in the trailer to get the car closer for the race. You get to a certain point where you’re so far off that when you start adjusting on things like we were in the beginning of the year, you’re never going to get it right until you put it back on the scales and set the heights and do the things that it takes to get it close. Last year, it was the opposite. You had everything where you wanted it and didn’t have any issues and it didn’t matter if you practiced. This year, you wish you had practice and you wish you had some of the things to alleviate the stress of the start of the races and where we’ve been on the balance at different times. That’s been a lot better the last couple of months. We’ve made ground on it, but we’d have made ground on it a lot faster if we’d have been on the racetrack. We always do well at development stuff and making changes, but you couldn’t do that this year. We all knew that game going in. Unfortunately, we were on the wrong side of it and had to grind away at it and do the best that we could.”

What has carried the No. 4 team this year?

“It’s really been a group effort and, honestly, the group that’s carried us the most this year has been the pit crew. Those guys have been just on point all year and helped with gaining track position while making huge changes to the racecar. It’s really been a combination of a whole bunch of things. I feel like I’ve made a couple of mistakes in the seat, but I think overall in the car, we’ve done a good job. Rodney’s made some great pit calls. All those things just add up, and I think the pit crew has been the shining element of our season and has really helped us stay in a lot of races.”

Your crew chief, Rodney Childers, announced a few weeks ago that he had re-signed with SHR. How important it to have him locked up longterm to where you know he’s going to be your crew chief?

“Rodney is a key element of everything that we’ve done and the nucleus of the team. He’s done a great job and, as we go forward, it’s very comforting to know that you have the same voice and the same person with you, and I think the guys on the team feel the same way. Obviously, he and I talk about those things on occasion when they pop up and, as we go forward here over the next couple of years, I think he and I are definitely on the same page as far as where we’re both at. We’ll move forward and keep doing the things that we’ve been doing.”

Round 3 Racing Wins 24 Hours at Sebring

Sebring, Fla. (31 October 2021) – Round 3 Racing makes World Racing League history claiming victory in the inaugural 24 Hours of Sebring at Sebring International Raceway on Sunday. The No. 605 Hagerty Drivers Club Porsche Boxster claimed the top spot in the GP3 class with both the No. 701 Team Cooper Tires Porsche Cayman (GP1) and No. 601 Team Sentinel Porsche Boxster (GP2) standing on the podium in their respective classes.

12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Morning rain made for a damp start for the three R3R Porsche entries but the starting drivers were primed for the green flag. Mike Gilbert in the No. 701 Team Cooper Tires Porsche Cayman led the pack starting second in the GP1 category. The No. 601 Team Sentinel Porsche Boxster also started on the front row of the GP2 class with Cole Loftsgard at the helm.

Carter Pease in the No. 605 Hagerty Drivers Club Porsche Boxster rounded out the field from 15th in GP3. He made quick progress running in the top five of the GP3 class when the first yellow flag appeared on lap 10.

The team of three Porsche entries settled into race rhythm, clicking off laps and executing pit stops every hour and a half.

6:00 PM – 12:00 AM

As darkness began to appear, things started to heat up on and off track. With Jim Ptak piloting the No. 605 GP3 Porsche, teamwork was key as team strategist Steve Mason made a last minute call to bring the Boxster to pit lane for fuel as a full course caution appeared. The call allowed Ptak to take over the class lead with 14 hours remaining on the race clock. He took the restart making sharp passes around the 3.74-mile Florida course to put two laps between the No. 605 and second place.

Mo Dadkhah and the No. 701 Team Cooper Tires Porsche Cayman hit a stroke of bad luck as a punctured tire caused internal wheel well damage as it limped back to the garage for repairs. Quick work by the R3R crew got the No. 701 back on course in under one hour and still in contention for a podium.

12:00 AM – 6:00 AM

Taking the graveyard shift, Sarah Montgomery climbed aboard the No. 605 Hagerty Drivers Club Porsche Boxster in second but two laps down. She pushed through a double stint in the dark to return the No. 605 Porsche to the lead lap and within reach of the leader.

As over 12 hours of wear began to show in the handling of the car, the No. 601 Team Sentinel crew opted to switch out the brake pads on the Boxster. Maloof entered pit lane from second and just 13-minutes later rejoined the course. Minutes later, the No. 701 Team Cooper Tires Porsche Cayman made the same decision to replace their brakes. With fresh brake pads, Unser handed over control to Ghidinelli for a double stint.

6:00 AM – 12:00 PM

The sun rose brought new life in the hunt for victory. Each team of drivers executed hours of clean running in their Porsche entries.

With under one hour left on the race clock, adversity struck the No. 701 team again as a mechanical failure forced them to return to the garage while they ran in third. With a comfortable lead to fourth, the rear axle bearing was mended and Brian Ghidinelli nursed the No. 701 Team Cooper Tires Porsche Cayman to the checkered flag in third – the second podium appearance for the Team Cooper Tires lineup.

With 15 minutes remaining and 15 lap lead, Buz McCall strapped in the No. 605 Porsche Boxster for his first laps of the race. He completed five laps before crossing the finish line securing the GP3 class win. The win also clenched the Eastern Championship for the No. 605 Hagerty Drivers Club team.

Hannah Grisham brought the No. 601 Team Sentinel Porsche Boxster of Grisham, Christian Maloof, Cole Loftsgard and James Candelaria to the finish as the race clock expired in second place in the GP2 category.

“Wow, I am thrilled with these results,” said Brad McCall. “My dad (Buz McCall) and I actually had a dream that we would finish with a first, second, and third. It really is a dream come true. Every single driver and crew member contributed today and it was a team effort. We really didn’t know if these cars could last all 24 hours but they did. Trophies are nice but being able to celebrate and spend time together as not only a team but a family is the best part. A big congratulations are in order for the No. 605 team who secured their Eastern Championship and who are so close to securing a National Championship as well. It really was an amazing day.”

Round 3 Racing will close the 2021 World Racing League season at Circuit of the Americas December 3-5.
