NTT INDYCAR SERIES Returns to Iowa Speedway for 2022 Doubleheader

Hy-Vee To Sponsor NTT INDYCAR SERIES Races on July 23-24, 2022, in Newton, Iowa

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021) – The NTT INDYCAR SERIES and Hy-Vee, a grocery chain based in the Midwest, have announced a new multiyear agreement, which returns the excitement of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES to the Iowa Speedway. Hy-Vee will provide broad support for next year’s doubleheader event set for July 23-24, 2022, through a wide-ranging partnership that will bring INDYCAR racing back to the 0.875-mile oval after a one-year hiatus.

The NTT INDYCAR SERIES was among the first to race on the D-shaped layout when it made its debut in Newton, Iowa, in 2007. Quickly known as a favorite of fans and drivers alike, the NTT INDYCAR SERIES has held 15 races at the track known as “The Fastest Short Track on the Planet” since it opened in 2006.

Drivers will now have another chance to race at Iowa Speedway as Hy-Vee and the NTT INDYCAR SERIES announced that the Hy-VeeDeals.com 250 will take place Saturday, July 23, and the Hy-Vee Salute to Farmers 300 will occur Sunday, July 24.

“We’re extremely pleased to return Iowa Speedway to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES calendar,” said Roger Penske, founder and chair of the Penske Corporation and owner of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. “Over the years, Iowa has proven to be a fitting showcase for North America’s premier open-wheel series. A key oval and a hallmark on our schedule, we deeply missed seeing our fans in Iowa this year and look forward to what’s ahead.”

Plans for the 2022 NTT INDYCAR SERIES event include several additional entertainment activities, making for a festival-like atmosphere throughout the weekend.

“With our strong connection to local communities and involvement in the state, we plan to host an event that will receive national attention and make Newton an annual destination for racing fans,” said Randy Edeker, chairman, CEO and president of Hy-Vee. “The weekend will be filled with multiple attractions and events that celebrate everything that is great about Iowa and NTT INDYCAR SERIES racing.”

West Des Moines, Iowa-based Hy-Vee was first involved in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES when the supermarket chain was the primary sponsor for Rahal Letterman Lanigan (RLL) Racing’s No. 15 car in Race 2 of the 2020 Iowa Speedway doubleheader. Driven by Graham Rahal, the Hy-Vee Honda finished third. It later sponsored the team’s No. 45 car driven by Spencer Pigot in the 2020 Indianapolis 500. In 2021, Hy-Vee provided primary sponsorship of RLL’s No. 45 car, driven by 2019 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year Santino Ferrucci, for the Indianapolis 500 and other selected events, and was the primary sponsor of Rahal’s entry at Road America as well as this Saturday’s race in Madison, Illinois.

“The state of Iowa made a commitment to the sport of racing when the Iowa Speedway was built, and today’s exciting announcement of Hy-Vee’s partnership with the NTT INDYCAR SERIES reaffirms that,” said Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds. “Iowa is well suited to be an INDYCAR destination for racing fans nationwide, and I encourage Iowa businesses and organizations to support the success of this event in whatever way they can.”

“The state is rich with racing history and has a strong appreciation for INDYCAR and its terrific drivers and teams,” Penske said. “The fantastic addition of Hy-Vee and their commitment to our sport underscores the added value. Thanks to Hy-Vee and the State of Iowa for welcoming the return of INDYCAR racing to Iowa Speedway.”

Two-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Josef Newgarden is a three-time winner at Iowa Speedway and the most recent to celebrate in victory lane. Other champions at the track include four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves along with “500” and NTT INDYCAR SERIES champions Simon Pagenaud, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Tony Kanaan and Dario Franchitti.

The entire 2022 NTT INDYCAR SERIES schedule will be announced at a later date. For more details about this event and to sign up for ticketing information, visit www.INDYCARatIowa.com.

Toyota Clinches 2021 ARCA Menards Series Manufacturer’s Championship

PLANO, Texas (August 19, 2021) – Toyota captured its sixth manufacturer’s championship in the ARCA Menards Series and its fifth-consecutive ARCA title following Corey Heim’s fifth victory of the season at Watkins Glen International on August 6.

Toyota began the season with nine consecutive wins and has won 12 of the 13 races completed this season. In 2020, Toyota clinched the title with 13 victories in 20 ARCA Menards Series events.

“Everyone at Toyota is pleased to have clinched our fifth-consecutive ARCA Menards Series manufacturer’s title,” said Paul Doleshal, Group Manager, Motorsports and Assets, Toyota Motor North America (TMNA). “We have witnessed thrilling racing throughout the ARCA season with the future stars of NASCAR. Ty (Gibbs) and Corey (Heim) are delivering a great championship battle and we look forward to watching them compete for the title over these last seven events.”

Toyota supports four ARCA Menards Series teams, including Venturini Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing, Hattori Racing Enterprises and Bill McAnally Racing. All season it has been an exciting title race between two teenagers – Heim and Ty Gibbs – for victories and the championship lead. Gibbs currently has the upper hand with seven wins, but Venturini Motorsports’ Heim closed the championship battle to just two points with his victory in his Toyota Camry at Watkins Glen.

Toyota first entered the ARCA Racing Series in 2007 and has captured six manufacturer’s titles (2013, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021) and six driver’s titles (2009, 2010, 2013, 2017, 2018, 2019). Heim also delivered Toyota’s 100th ARCA Menards Series victory last fall at Kansas Speedway. Toyota now sits at 112 national ARCA Menards Series wins.

Chevrolet heads to final oval race of season with momentum
Team Chevy drivers look to score maximum points under the lights

DETROIT (Aug. 19, 2021) – Minutes after securing a hard-fought fifth-place finish Aug. 14 on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, Pato O’Ward was already looking forward to the next race.

The second-year NTT INDYCAR SERIES driver’s confidence is brimming heading into the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway.
O’Ward, driver of the No. 5 Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet, is 21 points out of first place in the Driver Standings with four races left in the championship hunt.

“We gained a lot of ground in the championship. I think this is the start of the momentum we wanted. I think (the oval race) will be great for us,” said O’Ward, whose NTT P1 Award last week gave the 21-year-old a field-high three for the season. “We are ready for these last four races.”

Practice, qualifications and the green flag for the 260-lap on the 1.25-mile egg-shaped oval in Madison, Illinois, occur in less than an eight-hour span Saturday, Aug. 21.

O’Ward placed second and third in the doubleheader last August at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway. He picked up his first NTT INDYCAR SERIES victory May 2 on the 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway oval and has added two other top-five finishes on ovals, including fourth in the Indianapolis 500. Team Chevy drivers have registered seven top-five finishes in the three oval races.

“Pato winning the pole and finishing fifth on the Indy road course in a tight race boosted his confidence along with his chances of winning the championship,” Chevrolet INDYCAR program manager Rob Buckner said. “He’s had success this season in the oval races, and was certainly impressive in his rookie season of 2020 at World Wide Technology Raceway.

“Our focus is to see that every Team Chevy driver has the best opportunity to win the remaining four races, starting with the final oval race of the season.”

Two-time Series champion Josef Newgarden, who is 21 points out of third place in the standings, is a two-time winner at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway in his Chevrolet-powered Team Penske machine since the NTT INDYCAR SERIES returned to the facility in 2017 after a 13-year absence. He won the second race of the August 2020 doubleheader, leading a Chevrolet sweep of the top four positions.

Teammate Will Power, who drove to his 40th career victory last week on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course in the No. 12 Verizon 5G Team Penske Chevrolet, won at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway in 2018.

Four Team Chevy drivers, including Rookie of the Year leader Scott McLaughlin in the No. 3 Team Penske Chevrolet, tested July 27 at the track. Team owner/driver Ed Carpenter returns to the seat of the No. 20 US Air Force Chevrolet for the first time since placing fifth in the Indianapolis 500 on May 30. Conor Daly, who drives the No. 20 Chevrolet on road/street courses, moves to the No. 59 Gallagher Carlin Chevrolet for this race in place of Max Chilton.

NBCSN will telecast the 260-lap Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at 8 p.m. ET Saturday, Aug. 21. Same-day practice and qualifications will stream on Peacock Premium. The race, qualifications and practice will also be broadcast live on INDYCAR Radio Network affiliates, Sirius 211, XM 205, Indycar.com, and on the INDYCAR Mobile app powered by NTT DATA.

Harrison’s Partners with JR Motorsports and Josh Berry

Berry to Drive No. 8 Harrison’s Chevrolet in Eight NXS Events in 2022

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Aug. 19, 2021) – Today, through a social media video, JR Motorsports announced that Harrison’s will join Josh Berry and the No. 8 team as primary partner for eight races during the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. A long-time supporter of regional short track racing in the Carolinas, this marks Harrison’s debut in one of NASCAR’s top three series.

Headquartered in Spartanburg, S.C., with locations across North and South Carolina, Harrison’s is a family-owned chain of retail stores serving as the Southeast’s largest Ariat and Carhartt dealer. For the last 30 years, the company has offered a wide variety of clothing and footwear with the most in-stock casual and safety boots in the area.

“We’ve always felt a lot pride in having a family-owned business,” said Kelley Earnhardt Miller, JRM general manager. “Danny [Harrison] and his family share those same values. They’ve seen and believe in Josh’s potential. We’re looking forward to helping Harrison’s expand its brand next year and into the future.”

On Monday it was announced that Berry will enter his first full-time NXS season in 2022 on the strength of one win (Martinsville Speedway), four top-five and six top-10 finishes during a 12-race stint in the No. 8 Chevrolet in 2021.

“For the Harrison’s brand and family, this was just a perfect combination,” said Kevin Harrison, vice president of Harrison’s. “As we looked for new and engaging ways to expand our brand and footprint, working with JR Motorsports and helping Josh with the next chapter in his career were ideal scenarios. This isn’t just sponsorship, we see this as the beginning of a long relationship with Josh, the Earnhardt family and all of JR Motorsports.”

Berry is a veteran of JRM’s Late Model program, where he has notched 89 wins. He is the only driver in team history to have earned multiple championships for the organization, claiming the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series championship in 2020, a CARS LMSC driver title in 2017, the CARS owner title in 2016 and the track championships at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway and Motor Mile (Radford, Va.) Speedway.

“I’ve known the Harrison family for a while now,” said Berry. “I’ve raced against Late Models carrying the Harrison brand many times over the years. Now, it’s great to finally have them on our racecars. Family is very important to them, so it’s a great fit. I can’t thank Danny [Harrison] and his son, Kevin, enough for believing in me and giving me the chance to represent them.”

Additional details on specific races for the No. 8 Harrison’s Camaro, will be announced at a later date.

Larson Continues Dirt Domination with Stoops Pursuit Victory at IMS

INDIANAPOLIS (Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021) – In an action-packed, elimination-style exhibition race, NASCAR Cup Series star Kyle Larson captured the lead late Wednesday and won the Stoops Pursuit race at The Dirt Track at IMS on the opening night of the Driven2SaveLives BC39 Powered by NOS Energy Drink.

Larson passed 15 cars in the 25-lap race and won $3,000. It’s the second consecutive Stoops Pursuit race that Larson has won at IMS. He captured the event in 2019 by prevailing after getting tangled in a thrilling, last-lap, last-corner collision.

The victory also continued a year of domination of short-track racing’s biggest events by Larson, who also has won the Knoxville Nationals, Chili Bowl, Kings Royal and Prairie Dirt Classic in 2021.

“There’s a lot that happens in that race,” Larson said. “It’s hard to keep track of where you’re running and where you need to finish and stuff like that and trying not to be too aggressive in those earlier rounds. (Justin) Grant was really good. I knew that if he just passed people, he was going to eliminate cars in front of us. It kind of worked out, and a couple mistakes in front of me allowed me to get the win.”

Larson lurked all race long, slowly making his way toward the front in the race that rewarded passing and punished those who lost their spot. The Stoops Pursuit format splits the 25-lap race into five five-lap segments. Every five laps, USAC threw a competition caution, and cars with a net loss in position were removed from the race.

Larson started 16th, and by the start of the final segment, he was third behind leader Kyle Cummins and Justin Grant. As Larson inched his way closer to Grant’s No. 7 midget, Grant tapped the wall exiting Turn 4 and allowed Larson to advance to second.

Shortly thereafter, Larson closed in on Cummins. With a mirror full of Larson, Cummins slid sideways at the exit of Turn 4 coming to the white flag. The spin caused a caution, giving Larson the lead and erasing any chance Cummins had at scoring the win.

“It would’ve been tough to get by him with the line that he was running, but I put a couple good corners together there to track him down a little bit,” Larson said. “Then, he just over-rotated there. I got lucky, for sure.”

Following Larson’s No. 86x midget were Tanner Thorson in the No. 19T in second and 2018 BC39 winner Brady Bacon in the No. 21H in third.

The prestigious event attracted several NASCAR and INDYCAR stars to IMS for one of the richest USAC prizes of the season. NASCAR Cup Series rookie and Hoosier Chase Briscoe ran as high as second in the Stoops Pursuit but eventually finished eighth in the No. 5B.

Renowned USAC, INDYCAR and NASCAR driver J.J. Yeley finished seventh in the No. 51, while NTT INDYCAR SERIES driver Conor Daly finished 13th in the No. 47D. 2013 Brickyard 400 winner Ryan Newman finished 21st in the No. 6BC in what was his first USAC National Midget appearance in 22 years, and defending NASCAR Cup Series champion Chase Elliott finished 26th in the No. 9.

The race got off to an intense start in Turn 2 on the very first lap. Aiden Purdue got sideways off the right front tire of Briscoe and spun. The incident created an 11-car pileup that included Purdue, Corey Day, Kaylee Bryson, Spencer Bayston, Chris Windom, Elliott, Logan Seavey, Ryan Timms, Thomas Meseraull, Newman and Buddy Kofoid.

The Stoops Pursuit capped off an exciting first night of grassroots racing at the Racing Capital of the World. The evening began with hot lap sessions, followed by heat races, which help set the field for Thursday’s qualifying.

Heat race winners Wednesday night: Cole Bodine, Chase Randall, Tyler Courtney, Purdue, Grant, Timms, Day and Cummins.

The night was punctuated by NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Jeff Gordon, who served as the honorary starter for the Stoops Pursuit. Gordon also turned exhibition laps in a Clauson-Marshall Racing USAC Midget in front of the passionate short track racing fans, which he hadn’t done in 30 years, as well as waving the green flag to begin the Stoops Pursuit race.

“I’m just so thankful and thrilled for Clauson Marshall Racing and Driven2SaveLives for making this all happen, as well as IMS, and mainly all the fans for coming out and supporting dirt tracks and short track racing,” Gordon said. “That was a lot of fun.

“This is a challenging racetrack. I have a whole different perspective for these drivers right now. That cushion is real. That’s not a cushion; that’s a wall. I wasn’t going to leave here if I didn’t put that right rear on the cushion.”

Fittingly, Gordon was so excited about his role that he stayed for the entire event and waved the checkered flag to crown Larson the winner. Larson drives for Hendrick Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series, where he has five wins this season at the team with which Gordon earned 93 wins and four Cup Series championships.

Next year, Gordon will move into a leadership role at Hendrick Motorsports as the organization’s vice chairman. But before he does that, Gordon was surprised with a special announcement in front of the Shaw Grandstands after his exhibition laps.

Gordon, the 1989 USAC National Midget Series rookie of the year, 1990 USAC National Midget Series champion and 1991 USAC Silver Crown Series champion, was inducted into the USAC Hall of Fame Class of 2021. Other members of the Class of 2021 include all-time racing greats Dan Gurney, Jay Drake, Galen Fox, Johnny Vance, Doug Caruthers, Ray Nichels and Joe Shaheen.

The Driven2SaveLives BC39 Powered by NOS Energy Drink continues Thursday with another jam-packed day of racing at The Dirt Track at IMS. Public gates open at 4 p.m., with hot lap sessions starting at 5 p.m.

Qualifying races begin at 6 p.m., and Main races at 7:45 p.m. will whittle the massive field of 72 cars down to 26 starters for the 39-lap feature event honoring the late Bryan Clauson, which begins at 9:30 p.m.

Tickets are still available at IMS.com and at the gates. All Shaw Grandstand seats are reserved, and tickets start at $44.

Greg Van Alst and team ride momentum to Michigan International Speedway

BROOKLYN, Mich: Still embracing the emotions of his career-best ARCA Menards Series finish at Winchester (Ind.) Speedway last month, Greg Van Alst and his Greg Van Alst Motorsports team head to Michigan International Speedway eager for a duplicate performance in Friday evening’s Henry Ford Health System 200.

An added race to his ARCA schedule at Winchester, Van Alst utilized the 200-lap race to improve the handling on his No. 35 CB Fabricating Ford Fusion and found himself second on the final restart behind Ty Gibbs hunting for his first career ARCA victory.

While Van Alst attempted to steal the win from the Joe Gibbs Racing powerhouse driver, Van Alst settled for a runner-up finish and added fuel to the team’s program and the mindset that a family-owned team can compete and challenge with ARCA’s finest.

“It has been a little more than two weeks since Winchester, but I mean the adrenaline and attitude around our team is that we won the race,” said Van Alst. “Everyone knows that I have a love and hate relationship with Winchester and still do, but our performance was a total team effort.

“We worked hard on a brand new race car acquired from Chad Bryant and had to really throw everything at it during the final break to put ourselves in that position. The finish is such a huge boost to this race team and something that we definitely want to build on at Michigan.”

Van Alst will make his ninth career ARCA Menards Series start Friday at Michigan’s two-mile oval and even though he doesn’t have any prior experience in the Irish Hills, the Anderson, Ind. native is still optimistic about the challenge that awaits him and interim crew chief Jeff McClure.

“I’m looking forward to Michigan this weekend,” added Van Alst. “Obviously, it’s another race track that I have never been to, but I am looking forward to getting on the track and getting some laps before the race.

“We have an incredibly short practice like two hours before the race on Friday, so it’s going to be important to dial in our No. 35 CB Fabricating Ford Fusion as best as we can and making good adjustments during the race. I’d like to think that we are capable of another top-five finish on Friday evening, but it has to be like Winchester where everything played out just right.”

The lack of track time doesn’t necessarily worry the 2019 ARCA CRA champion.

“It’s the same for everyone, so you have to feel comfortable with the balance in that,” sounded Van Alst. “I know Michigan is an incredibly fast track, but I am ready for that. I love how wide Michigan is and the ability to race multiple grooves. The draft will be a huge factor for much of the race, including the start and restarts.

“Taking advantage of that momentum on the track is going to be key to setting your pace. We’ll just see what happens.”
CB Fabricating, a longtime partner with Greg Van Alst Motorsports has boosted its commitment to the team and will continue its role as the primary marketing partner of Van Alst’s No. 35 Ford.

Headquartered in Anderson, Ind., CB Fabricating offers a complete list of fabricating from design, laser cutting, CNC punching, forming, welding, powder coating, and assembly.

Their 26,000 square foot facility allows them to service the needs of many different industries. Everything from the Automotive, agricultural, aquatic, medical, transportation, electrical enclosures, and much more.

For the third consecutive race, not only is Van Alst racing for third top-10 finish of the year on Friday, but awareness too.

CB Fabricating president Chris Barkdull was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and will utilize the ARCA event to bring attentiveness and awareness to the disease as Barkdull continues treatment.

“Chris couldn’t be at two races at once, so he wasn’t at Winchester, but he was the first person I talked too when I climbed out of the car,” remarked Van Alst. “I told him that none of this would have been possible without him. He’s just not an investor or a partner in this thing – he’s family.

“While we are focused on performance, we are fully invested in awareness too. This is important to Chris to do his part to educate the public and that is exactly what he is going to do, and we are happy to keep using the race car to our advantage.”

In addition to CB Fabricating, Top Choice Fence, Norton Transport, KRJ Race Products and Lintz Creative will serve as associate marketing partners for Van Alst’s ninth career ARCA start.

Following Michigan, Van Alst’s next ARCA Menards Series race with regular crew chief Jim Long is located in Thunder Valley at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway for the Bush’s Beans 200 on Thurs., Sept. 16, 2021.

For more on Greg Van Alst and Greg Van Alst Motorsports, please stay tuned for a new website, but like them on Facebook (Van Alst Motorsports) and follow him on Twitter (@GregVanAlst35).

For more on CB Fabricating, please visit CBFabricating.com and like them on Facebook (CB Fabricating).

The Henry Ford Health System 200 (100 laps | 200 miles) is the 13th of 20 races on the 2021 ARCA Menards Series schedule. A half-hour group practice is set from 4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. The event will be televised live on MAVTV and aired on the Motor Racing Network (MRN Radio) beginning at 6:00 p.m. (MRN). ARCARacing.com will also stream live timing and scoring throughout the entire weekend festivities. All times are local (ET).

Now that you know a possible release date, let’s take a look at what you can expect when the new game becomes available.

Anticipated Gameplay

Fans awaiting information on the new game are wondering where it is set. Based on leaks from an ex-employee at Rockstar, it will most likely be based in Florida and includes a map that is much larger than the one in GTA 5. It covers three different cities and players will have the ability to control four different characters as opposed to the three main characters found in GTA 5. It is also believed that the game will include a first-ever female character.

Players are eagerly awaiting more details on GTA 6, especially those revolving around the casino. Will the Diamond Casino be available and will it allow players to engage in real money play just like at a casino online? That question has yet to be answered.

System Requirements

While the game should be available on a PC platform, it likely won’t be for a year or so after an initial release. When GTA 6 is launched, it is to be designed for play exclusively on PS 5 and Xbox Series X and S.

Over the years, gaming systems have evolved and you can expect GTA 6 to be playable on these popular devices and platforms devices using top-notch technology. Based on information from our Facebook expert, Khrystyna Przbylo, this new game requires the following for those playing on a PC:

  • Win 10 64 bit
  • Intel Core i7/AMD Ryzen R71700X
  • RAM 8GB
  • System memory 16 GB  RAM
  • Storage 55 GM hard drive space

Conclusion

While few details are available on this new game, you can expect this GTA title to be an amazing addition to the collection. With an amazing storyline, new characters, and an exciting set of missions, GTA 6 should be the most interactive and enjoyable release yet and is one that thousands of gamers are eagerly awaiting.

The Training and Preparation of Motorsport Drivers

Professional drivers, especially in motorsport, are expected to maintain not just their physical state but also their mental health.  For them to be able to achieve this, they have to undergo strict training and conditioning. From daily nutrition meal plans, workout regimes, sim racing, to timed sessions.

It is known to many that race car drivers are some of the fittest athletes in the world. Let us try to understand how they got this appreciation.

Meanwhile, for aspiring elite drivers, they should not compromise these routines as it periodically affects performance and endurance.

Nourished Diet Routine

The typical diet of a race car athlete is mostly to help them sustain their energy throughout the on-track training. Meal planning is a beneficial factor as part of their pre-season routine to improve performance and capacity.

One should understand that nourishment and a proper diet are vital for elite drivers. That is why there is no actual type of diet to apply. Personal preference and different eating behaviors are widely accepted. For example, Formula 1 race car drivers maintain high protein intake. It equates to almost 2g of protein per body mass each day. Lean protein sources like animal meats, nuts, and dairy products are recommended for a high-protein-dependent kind of diet

They generally avoid calories and prefer a sufficient amount of fats. They also encourage high-quality sources of carbohydrates.

Peak Physical Fitness

For them to perform at their best, elite drivers are expected to maintain their physical fitness. Whenever they’re behind their wheels, they subject their body to enormous forces and stress. In motorsports, accelerating the car, applying great force to the brake pedal, lifting the throttle, and cornering effects from tracks are just some of the examples of how it can be brutal and exhausting to the body.

To help them endure certain forces, professional drivers train and focus on gaining strength for their neck, arms, core, and legs. Their workout routine is designed to bring endurance and strength to each of these parts. Drivers are expected to be strong just to be prepared in handling strong impacts like a possible crash.

One example, in the NASCAR Cup Series, cars should only weigh 1,451kg, excluding the driver’s weight and fuel. These elements stipulate balance within the car racing experience. And in many types of racing, there are also numerous types of fitness including diet. The advantage to go fast lies in being light, but it is more beneficial for motorsport athletes to be lean and fit because it gives balance to their overall performance.
