Dawson Racing’s D3+Transformers Driver Trio Introductions

Theodor Olsen, driver of the No. 84 D3+Transformers LMP3

HOUSTON, Texas, June 25 – As the Dawson Racing team prepares for the upcoming races at Watkins Glen, all three drivers are ready to step back into the cockpit at a track with deep racing history. Theodor Olsen, Dominic Cicero and Ben Devlin will co-drive the No. 84 D3+Transformers LMP3 for this weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen, June 25-27.

“We are very happy to have these three drivers come together and add some history to the iconic Watkins Glen circuit associated with the Dawson name,” said Ian Dawson, CEO of Dawson Racing and long-time sports car entrant. “Being here for an IMSA race again with all these impressive machines is what sports car racing is all about. Introducing Hasbro with their TRANSFORMERS brand and Chevron Technology Ventures to sports car racing is a great honor. All three of these drivers bring a great deal to the table for this effort and the choice of drivers from the U.S., UK and Norway represent our work and vision on sustainable energy development. Although they have not raced together before, they are all keen to jump right in and I’m certain will work together like the pros they all are and produce some good results.”

Theodor Olsen may be a new name to many in the IMSA paddock as the 21-year-old Norwegian will be making his IMSA debut. Coming through the karting ranks in his native country since the age of 12, he soon graduated to car racing in the 2015 Citroen DS3 Cup Norway and then started making a name for himself in the Radical Cup Masters and Radical Cup Scandinavia, where he won the championship in 2016. The young man was awarded the 2018 Norway Athlete of the Year for his outstanding racing abilities and caught the eyes of Ian and Simon Dawson, who owned the Radical America outlet. They started working with the young talent in both Radicals and LMP2 and LMP3 cars for testing projects and with an eye on future drives. Additionally, as the Dawsons started their D3eSports business as the pandemic hit, Olsen was part of the esports family.”

Theodor Olsen, driver of the No. 84 D3+Transformers LMP3
“I’m super excited to finally be in the U.S. and racing again after being stuck home for the past year and a half,” said Olsen, of Moelv, Norway. “The Dawson have been planning this awesome D3+Transformers race program for a while and it’s a real honor to be here with them launching it to the world at Watkins Glen. Being part of bringing the sustainability focus on innovative technologies in Norway as part of my association makes me proud. Ben and Dominic and I are already getting on well and will be great teammates behind the wheel.”

Ben Devlin knows his way around a race track, Watkins Glen included. His most recent race at Watkins Glen was a fifth-place finish in the No. 70 Mazda Prototype factory team in 2016. His 20+ year team history competing in IMSA and the former American Le Mans Series reads like a who’s who of sports car racing in the U.S., as he’s driven for the likes of Dyson Racing, Intersport, Dempsey and SpeedSource before joining Mazda. After returning to his home country of England, his most recent race outing was the British GT Championship GT4 with Multimatic Motorsports Europe in a Ford Mustang GT4.

Devlin’s association with the Dawson family goes back to grade school in England at the age of 12. The Norwich, England-born Devlin first met Simon at school in Quidenham, Norfolk, which is nearly in the backyard of the historical Snetterton Race circuit. With the Dawson family history in racing, soon the young boys were inseparable at the race track.

Ben Devlin, driver of the No. 84 D3+Transformers LMP3
“Simon and I have talked about racing together for so long I can’t remember,” said a jubilant Devlin. “We’ve spent so much of our lives planning to race together but timing had just not worked out previously, so it truly is a dream come true to be launching the D3+Transformers race team with them at The Glen. When Simon asked me to come drive with he and Ian, I thought I was dreaming. I’m very proud to be part of a family friend program with such diversity, especially as a father now. And being back racing in IMSA, which I just love, is fantastic. We can’t wait to get on track and kick off this amazing TRANSFORMERS program. It is going to be incredible!”

Dominic Cicero, who was introduced to the team by Ligier North America, is ready to step back into the cockpit at a track with which he has a fond connection. Having competed in both the Daytona Prototype and GTD classes at The Glen in years past, he feels that knowledge will play well driving the LMP3 entry with Olsen and Devlin.

Dominic Cicero, driver of the No. 84 D3+Transformers LMP3
“I’ve had some great memories of this beautiful place and absolutely love the track,” said Cicero of La Quinta, Calif. “My experience in multiple classes will fit well with the five classes racing together at the Six Hours at the Glen race. Having driven in both the fastest and slowest cars on track provides a unique perspective that not everyone will share as we navigate the circuit together.

“The rhythmic flow, both mental and physical, of this circuit reminds me of the tracks I’ve competed on in Europe. Some tracks you simply connect with and feel more comfortable behind the wheel and this is one of those tracks for me and my past results here show it. I hope to carry that on with this exciting racing program with the Dawsons.”

Dawson Racing partners for the No. 84 entry include Hasbro and Chevron Technology Ventures.

TeamSLR Eyes Opportunity in Buckeye State

Mid-May Test at Mid-Ohio has Connor Mosack Ready to Race This Weekend

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (June 25, 2021) – Only once this season has Connor Mosack buckled into his No. 28 Nic Tailor Custom Fit Underwear/Interstate Foam & Supply Chevrolet Camaro and ventured onto a racetrack where he had prior experience in the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli.

That lone race was back on March 28 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia, where Mosack finished a solid fourth. At every other Trans Am venue this season, Mosack has arrived with a clean slate, seeing tracks in the flesh for the very first time.

Simulations, in-car camera footage and race replays have helped bridge the gap, but real-world experience is best. That’s why Mosack is so keen to go racing this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course in Lexington, Ohio.

The Mid-Ohio SpeedTour will mark Mosack’s seventh TA2 race of the 2021 season. In preparation for it, Mosack and TeamSLR tested at the 2.258-mile, 13-turn road course in mid-May.

It will be Mosack’s 11th career Trans Am start, and the 22-year-old racer from Charlotte, North Carolina, aims to make the most of it. Nothing beats seat time, and Mosack has augmented his Mid-Ohio test with races outside of Trans Am.

In the month-long break since the last Trans Am race at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut, Mosack has kept his skills sharp. The aspiring NASCAR driver wheeled a Super Late Model at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida, the weekend after Lime Rock. Prior to Lime Rock, Mosack competed in the ARCA Menards East Series race at Dover (Del.) International Speedway, finishing seventh and completing all 125 laps at the aptly named Monster Mile.

Mosack is also a recent college graduate. On May 8, he walked across the stage and accepted his diploma from High Point (N.C.) University. With his degree in business entrepreneurship in one hand and his helmet in the other, Mosack is juggling two careers. He began fulltime work earlier this month at Interstate Foam & Supply, focusing on the company’s business development.

While a business suit is now a part of Mosack’s regular wardrobe, it’s a firesuit that he likes best. With his briefcase back at home, a helmet on his head and experience in his pocket, Mosack is ready for Mid-Ohio.

Connor Mosack, driver No. 28 Nic Tailor Custom Fit Underwear/Interstate Foam & Supply Chevrolet Camaro:

“Since we last raced at Lime Rock, I competed in a Super Late Model race the following weekend at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. Unfortunately, we had some bad luck and ended up not running very well. I also started working full time for Interstate Foam & Supply during the week helping with business development.

“I’m definitely looking forward to Mid-Ohio. We’ve had the speed to run up front all year. I feel like I’m the most familiar and comfortable going into the Mid-Ohio weekend than any other track we’ve gone to so far. We were able to go test there a couple weeks back. We felt like we had really good speed and we will carry that into this weekend.

“Mid-Ohio is a tough place because every corner on the track it’s easy to give up speed. Every corner has a tradeoff between entry, center and exit speed to get the best total of the three, and it really can be tough to know which way is best and to do it every time. Knowing where to place the car is also key because of the blind corners and bumps that are scattered around the track. Of course, you know the best places to pass are at the end of the straightaways, into the keyhole and turn four but, as a racer, you also know you might have to be able to make a pass in the closing laps wherever you can make it happen. Some corners are definitely tougher than others, but it’s always possible and you can even catch some guys by surprise in some spots.”

Scott Lagasse, Jr., owner of TeamSLR and driver coach:

“Mid-Ohio is a very technical track that is a lot of fun and enjoyable from the driver’s seat. The elevation and the uniqueness of some of the corners makes you always feel like you just need one more lap to accomplish the perfect lap.

“We marked the Mid-Ohio race on our calendar way in advance for Connor. This should be a good track for him. We tested here a few weeks ago to be properly prepared for this weekend. Turn two, turn five and turn nine are all corners that Connor will excel in because of his consistency and attention to detail.”

About TeamSLR:

TeamSLR competes fulltime in the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli in a multifaceted effort that includes dedicated entries in the TA2 division, customer programs, driver coaching and car construction. Its history dates back to 1985 and covers a wide spectrum of motorsports, including NASCAR, IMSA, SCCA, ARCA and ASA. TeamSLR is a family-owned organization run by Scott Lagasse Sr., and Scott Lagasse Jr., The father-and-son duo have combined to win more than 100 races and seven championships across a variety of series and styles of racecars, from paved ovals to road courses to dirt tracks. What To Do When A Fatal Car Accident Occurs

Car accidents are traumatic incidents and if you have been in one, knowing what to do is the need of the hour. Injuries are common and property damage is expected. If someone has died, it means that the incident has gotten very serious. With severe accidents, medical care should be given to the injured passengers as soon as possible.

Death due to car accidents can devastate families and communities. The grief is palpable when such a thing happens. If you have been at the receiving end and someone close to you has died, getting legal assistance is important.

The Right Lawyer Can Do A Lot

The right fatal car accident lawyer can do a lot for you in your journey to get justice in your severe accident case. You should understand that each car accident is different and occurs under different circumstances. Some may involve irresponsible and negligent behavior.

  • Collect Evidence: As part of his job, the lawyer is going to collect all evidence that will hold in court. A ‘’Wrong Death’’ claim is common in such cases and to prove it, evidence needs to be collected.
  • Build A Case: The lawyer then works hard to build a case for you.
  • Financial compensation: Compensation does not lessen the grief, but it can lessen the stress the car accident has caused for the family of the deceased. It also serves as a reminder that a certain justice has been served. A great fatal car accident lawyer will be able to work at giving the next of kin fair financial compensation.

Finding The Right Fatal Car Accident Lawyer

The right lawyer can make a lot of difference to what life looks like after a loved one has been killed in a car accident. He will not just provide legal help, but will also find the ‘’at fault’ driver to be charged. Here are some pointers to keep in mind to find the right lawyer.

  • Enough Experience

A good number of years of experience will be necessary. The lawyer must have worked in several car accident cases before and must have won most of them. He should have adequate experience in collecting evidence and representing his client in court. If it’s already your 2nd DUI, it will be highly advisable to seek lawyers with relevant experience in DUI cases.

  • Personal Attention

The lawyer you choose must provide personal attention to the case. There are so many aspects of a fatal car accident and all of them need to be studied. This helps ensure that the wronged party gets a chance at winning fair compensation.

  • Fast Action

Your lawyer must also take fast action. Fatal car accidents are to be acted upon quickly. If evidence gets lost, it can be cause for concern. A good amount of evidence is needed to build a solid case. The lawyer thus must act quickly.

  • Trustworthy And Responsible

You are dealing with the death of a loved one. That is why a trustworthy and responsible lawyer is your best bet.

When you know your rights in a fatal car accident, it is the first step to claim them.

AUSTIN DILLON QUOTES:
Talk about Pocono Raceway. It’s an interestingly-shaped track…
“Pocono is a fun, fast track and I feel like we’ve been able to build a good notebook there so I’m excited to get there this weekend for a double-header. Good finishes will be important for us and the points battle. At Pocono Raceway, speed is definitely carried through turn two and through three to the start-finish line. I think those are the most important corners. Of course, every corner is important, but turns two and three are a little bit more important because it’s the flat end of the track.”

Seeing the power that Hendrick Motorsports has picked up, has it been a mutual situation where you’ve both been benefiting from the advances that they’re making right now?
“Yeah, I think Chevrolet, as a whole, is working better together than they ever have in the past. Obviously, it’s good to see Hendrick Motorsports running well. As far as from an engine standpoint, I know it’s good to see the ECR power running well each and every weekend. Chevrolet and Rick Hendrick, himself, have been adamant in helping us with whatever we need. So, it’s been nice working with all the teams, especially Rick and all the guys at Hendrick. I think it’s only going to make us better in the future working together and especially with the Next Gen car. We’re just doing everything we can to keep Chevrolet out front.”

Tyler Reddick and the No. 8 Kalahari Resorts Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE at Pocono Raceway… Tyler Reddick has two NASCAR Cup Series, two NASCAR Xfinity Series and three NASCAR Truck Series starts at Pocono Raceway. He has a total of two top-five and three top-10 finishes in all of his NASCAR national touring series starts at the “Tricky Triangle,” with his best finish of second coming in the 2019 Xfinity Series race.

TYLER REDDICK QUOTES:
This is the second consecutive year we’ll have a doubleheader weekend at Pocono Raceway. What are the keys to success for a doubleheader weekend?
“It’s important to take each race one at a time on a doubleheader weekend and not look too far ahead. We did not have a great doubleheader weekend last year at Pocono Raceway, so I’m looking for some redemption this time around. It’s going to be important to keep the front of the car rotating through all three corners for both races since Pocono is so flat. That can be a challenge since you get tighter the longer you run. Dirty air makes it really tough to get around here too, so being able to manage that well will be vital to having a good two races this weekend.”

This week you’ll be carrying the Kalahari Resorts and Convention Center colors on your No. 8 Chevrolet. Are you looking forward to some more time at their resort?
“I’m very excited for this weekend’s stay at Kalahari’s Resorts and Convention Center at Pocono, and I know my team is too. We got to stay at their new Round Rock facility in Texas during the COTA race weekend, and it’s just incredible what they do with these resorts. My teammate, Austin Dillon, and myself had a lot of fun at Tom Foolery’s in Texas and had a friendly competition going with the arcade games in there. My girlfriend, Alexa, and son Beau had a great time in the water park that weekend too. So, I’m excited to be headed back to their Pocono location this weekend with a little more time on my hands to join them in the water park and enjoy all the resort has to offer. It’s such a great family atmosphere. Todd Nelson, the owner of Kalahari, does a fantastic job, and I’m excited to catch up with him again and have him out to the track as well.”

Myatt Snider and the No. 2 Crosley Furniture Chevrolet Camaro at Pocono Raceway… Myatt Snider has one career NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Pocono Raceway. One season ago in June 2020, the Charlotte, N.C. native, piloting his No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet Camaro, started on the front row, led eight laps and finished in the fourth position. Snider also has one NASCAR Truck Series race (12th-place in 2018) and two ARCA Racing Series events under his belt (two top-10 finishes in 2016).

MYATT SNIDER QUOTE:
You’ve had solid results at Pocono Raceway in the past. What is your outlook for this weekend?
“Pocono Raceway is one of my strongest tracks personally. I’ve had good speed and success there in the past. In my ARCA debut at Pocono back in 2016, which was also my first race at the Tricky Triangle, I led a lot of laps and finished inside the top-10. Last season when our Richard Childress Racing team went to Pocono, we led laps in the No. 21 car and finished fourth. This weekend, we are going back with almost the same setup in our No. 2 Chevrolet Camaro, so I feel good overall about our chances on Sunday. It always helps to have another great looking Crosley Furniture Camaro to drive, and we will look to rock and roll once again in the Pocono mountains. We are even staying at the Kalahari Resorts, which makes the time away from home enjoyable and kicks off the summer fun.”

CR7 Motorsports returns to Truck Series action at Pocono Raceway

LONG POND, Pa.: After sitting idle for the last two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) races at Texas Motor Speedway and Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway, CR7 Motorsports returns to action with Grant Enfinger for Saturday afternoon’s CRC Brakleen 150 at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway.

The two-race sabbatical allowed the team led by general manager Codie Rohrbaugh and crew chief Doug George to prepare for an upcoming stretch of races beginning with the 60-lap battle at the “Tricky Triangle.”

Rohrbaugh will return to Truck Series competition in the next event at Knoxville Raceway on Fri., July 9, 2021.

In their most recent race at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway nearly four weeks ago, Enfinger delivered a solid 14th place effort – keeping him nestled inside the top-10 in the championship standings.

After two races with another organization and two podium finishes to boast, Enfinger returns to the No. 9 Grant County Mulch Chevrolet Silverado looking to continue that same pace and keep the Statesville, N.C.-based team pointed in the right direction.

“We are always thankful to have Grant in our race trucks and we’re glad to be back in action this weekend at Pocono,” said Rohrbaugh. “We’ve spent the last several weeks working hard to make sure we’re doing our part as an organization to be ready for the rest of the season.

“Pocono is a demanding race track, but I think it’s a track that fits Grant’s style well and I think his statistics prove it.”

Enfinger, a native of Fairhope, Ala. is no slouch when it comes to racing at the 2.5-mile triangle.

In four previous Truck Series starts, he has delivered two top-10s and four top-13s with an average showing of 10th. Both driver and team hope they can improve on that statistic.

“Grant always has tremendous feedback, and he has certainly done his part to help make our intermediate program better,” added Rohrbaugh. “Doug (George, crew chief) and him have an executed plan of what they want to on Saturday and I think they will easily be able to deliver.”

“We aren’t starting near the front, but I don’t think it will take longer for our No. 9 Grant County Mulch Chevrolet to get there.”

Overall, looking at the team’s program, Rohrbaugh is satisfied with the direction of the team heading into the summer stretch.

“Whether it’s me or Grant behind the wheel, you can see that there has been progress in 2021,” he said.

“We’re getting there but there’s still work to be done. We want to be competitive week in and week out. Eventually, we’d like to take our team from contenders to winners.

“Everyone is working hard to achieve that goal; we just have to keep ourselves focused and humble and we will get there soon.”

Enfinger’s hood will adorn a decal remembering CR7 Motorsports general manager Mark Huff who passed away in February after a brief illness. Huff was responsible for launching CR7 Motorsports’ Truck Series program in 2018.
It’s a busy weekend at Pocono for CR7 Motorsports. In addition to Saturday afternoon’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, the organization will field an ARCA Menards Series entry for the General Tire #AnyWhereIsPossible 200 with Jason Kitzmiller behind the wheel.

Enfinger, a six-time NCWTS winner has eight prior ARCA Pocono starts, including a win in 2016. Rohrbaugh also competed in four ARCA Menards Series races with a best finish of
seventh in the 2018 edition.

CR7 Motorsports has 36 NCWTS starts to their credit with a career-best finish of third at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway (February 2020). Additionally, the team owns six other top-10 finishes including two this season at Circuit of the Americas (fourth | Grant Enfinger) in May 2021 and Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway (seventh | Grant Enfinger) in March 2021. An 11th place qualifying effort at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway (Oct. 2019) is the team’s best time trials effort to date.

With 10 races remaining, Enfinger despite missing one race is sixth in the championship driver standings, just one point from fifth.

CR7 Motorsports holds a respectable 22nd in the championship owner standings after 12 races.

In 20 career ARCA starts, Rohrbaugh has a best finish of seventh twice at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway (July 2018 and Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway (February 2019). He has qualified a career-best fourth on four different occasions, most recently at Kansas Speedway (Oct. 2018).

Marketing partnership(s) opportunities are also available for the No. 9 Grant County Mulch Chevrolet in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, as well as the team’s ARCA Menards Series No. 97 A.L.L. Construction | Grant County Mulch Chevrolet program with driver Jason Kitzmiller for the 2021 seasons and beyond. Interested inquiries are encouraged to contact tonya@gcmulch.com or 304.257.8783.

The CRC Brakleen 150 (60 laps | 150 miles) is the 13th of 22 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races on the 2021 schedule. The 40-truck field will take the green flag on Sat., Jun. 26, 2021, shortly after 12:00 p.m. ET with live coverage on FOX Sports 1, the Motor Racing Network (Radio) and SiriusXM Satellite Radio NASCAR Channel 90. All times are local (ET).

Greg Van Alst plans to conquer Pocono Raceway

LONG POND, Pa.: Set to make his fifth ARCA Menards Series start of the season in Friday afternoon’s General Tire #AnyWhereIsPossible 200 at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway, Greg Van Alst is eyeing to conquer the track dubbed “The Tricky Triangle” and record his first top-five of the season.

The 2019 ARCA CRA champion has certainly made a lot of noise this season in his own No. 35 CB Fabricating Chevrolet SS – but Van Alst is hungry to finish what he started last month at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway.

In his Charlotte debut, the Anderson, Ind. native contended early inside the top-five before electrical setbacks ruined their performance and left the Greg Van Alst Motorsports team with a 14th-place result.

“I can’t wait to get to Pocono Raceway this weekend for a lot of reasons,” said Van Alst. “Not only because it is a new race track – but it’s an opportunity to bounce back from a good Charlotte performance that was overshadowed with an OK finish.

“I believe we have corrected the gremlins that stole a top-10 finish from at Charlotte and look forward to Pocono and the challenges the track presents.”

Van Alst turned his first laps on Thursday partaking in an open test session at the Lond Pond race track.

Throughout the session, Van Alst’s lap times continued to improve before landing eighth quickest overall.

“The test was very productive,” sounded Van Alst. “The track is certainly unique but also very technical. I learned a lot at the test that should help for practice, qualifying and the race on Friday.”

When it comes to Pocono, Van Alst is determined to put his team inside the top-five when the checkered flag waves.

“I believe Pocono is one of those places we can make it happen,” he continued. “It’s a place where some strategy could fall into our hands. A top-five would certainly feel like a win for us, so that is what we are chasing.”

CB Fabricating, a longtime partner with Greg Van Alst Motorsports has boosted its commitment to the team and will continue its role as the primary marketing partner of Van Alst’s No. 35 Chevrolet.

Headquartered in Anderson, Ind., CB Fabricating offers a complete list of fabricating from design, laser cutting, CNC punching, forming, welding, powder coating, and assembly.

Their 26,000 square foot facility allows them to service the needs of many different industries. Everything from the Automotive, agricultural, aquatic, medical, transportation, electrical enclosures, and much more.

For the second consecutive race, not only is Van Alst racing for his second top-10 finish of the year on Friday but awareness too.

CB Fabricating president Chris Barkdull was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and will utilize the ARCA event through the in-car camera to bring attentiveness and awareness to the disease as Barkdull begins treatment soon.

“We would not be racing at Pocono – heck any of these ARCA races this season without Chris,” added Van Alst. “He’s just not an investor or a partner in this thing – he’s family. When he was diagnosed he was determined to do his part to educate the public and that is exactly what he is going to do.”

In addition to CB Fabricating, Top Choice Fence, Norton Transport, KRJ Race Products and Lintz Creative will serve as associate marketing partners for Van Alst’s eighth career ARCA start.

Should Van Alst leave Pocono cleanly, he plans to add the upcoming ARCA Menards Series race at Winchester (Ind.) Speedway to his summer schedule on Jul. 31.

Additional specifics on Greg Van Alst Motorsports’ 2021 ARCA Menards Series program are forthcoming, including a detailed series schedule.

For more on Greg Van Alst and Greg Van Alst Motorsports, please stay tuned for a new website, but like them on Facebook (Van Alst Motorsports) and follow him on Twitter (@GregVanAlst35).

For more on CB Fabricating, please visit CBFabricating.com and like them on Facebook (CB Fabricating).

The General Tire #AnyWhereIsPossible 200 (80 laps | 200 miles) is the eighth of 20 races on the 2021 ARCA Menards Series schedule. A quick forty-five practice session begins on Fri., Jun. 25 from 2:15 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. General Tire pole qualifying is slated for 4:00 p.m., with the green flag set to wave shortly after 6:00 p.m. The event will be televised live on FOX Sports 1 (FS1), while ARCARacing.com will stream live timing and scoring throughout the entire weekend festivities. “I am looking forward to building on our last couple of races this weekend at the Pocono Raceway. We had a fast No. 25 Rackley Roofing Chevrolet Silverado at the Nashville Superspeedway for the Rackley Roofing 200, but just needed to clean up some of our mistakes to have a better result. We are going to try to do just that on Saturday and take the Rackley W.A.R. Chevrolet Silverado to the front.”

● Three-time Global Rallycross champion (2015, 2016 and 2017).

● Won inaugural American Rallycross Series Championship (ARX) in 2018.

● Three-time X-Games gold medalist in Rallycross.

THE CREW CHIEFS: ONE LOCAL ALL-STAR and THREE VETERANS

Keith Kunz is the local all-star crew chief. Over the past two decades, Kunz has built one of the most formidable teams in USAC Midget racing, and the native of Springfield, Illinois, has become known for giving young drivers their first big breaks, most notably with Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell who are now winners in the NASCAR Cup Series. Kunz won his first USAC National Midget championship with the late Jason Leffler behind the wheel in 1997, earned his second with driver Cole Whitt in 2008, his third with the late Bryan Clauson in 2010, his fourth with Bell in 2013 and his fifth with Rico Abreu in 2014 before scoring three consecutive titles from 2016 through 2018 with youngsters Tanner Thorson, Spencer Bayston and Logan Seavey, respectively. The team is also a perennial favorite to score victories in short-track racing’s most iconic events, including the Chili Bowl and Turkey Night Grand Prix.

With a combined 77 NASCAR Cup Series victories between them, Mike Beam, Jeff Hammond and Todd Parrott bring decades of race-winning experience to the Camping World SRX Series. All have won some of the biggest races in NASCAR, from Beam winning the 1994 Southern 500 at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway with Bill Elliott, to Hammond helping score Darrell Waltrip’s long-coveted victory in the 1989 Daytona 500, to Parrott’s powerhouse 1996 performance that saw Dale Jarrett win three of NASCAR’s biggest races – the Daytona 500, the Coca-Cola 600 and the Brickyard 400.

Beam is a veteran of more than 600 NASCAR Cup Series races over 22 seasons, a run that began with Kyle Petty’s first fulltime season in 1981. Beam scored his maiden Cup Series victory with Elliott in the fall 1990 race at Dover (Del.) International Speedway, one of the duo’s 12 top-five finishes en route to fourth in the season championship. The two were victorious again in the 1994 Southern 500 at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway, and Beam’s most recent Cup Series victory came with driver Ricky Craven in the fall 2001 at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. After working his last Cup Series race in 2004, the Hickory, North Carolina-native continued as a crew chief in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series through 2014, highlighted by 10 Xfinity Series victories with Carl Edwards in more than 39 races together at Roush Fenway Racing in 2010 and 2011. In the Truck Series, Beam scored six wins in 14 races with Mark Martin in 2006, and four wins with driver Travis Kvapil in 2007.

Hammond is perhaps best known over the past two decades for his work as a NASCAR television commentator, but he is one of the winningest crew chiefs in Cup Series history. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, and former cornerback at East Carolina University under coach Pat Dye, Hammond broke into NASCAR in 1974 as a tire changer and then a jackman at Junior Johnson & Associates and played a role in driver Cale Yarborough’s three consecutive Cup Series titles from 1976 to 1978 before Waltrip’s 1981 championship. Hammond was promoted to crew chief in 1982 at the encouragement of Waltrip, and the duo quickly rose to prominence, winning the series title in their first year together and becoming one of the most prolific driver-crew chief combinations of the 1980s. They scored 43 wins together, added the 1985 championship, and finished runner-up in the 1983 and 1986 title chases. In 1987, Hammond joined Waltrip midseason at Hendrick Motorsports and were winners once again in September at Martinsville. Eight more wins followed, a run that included the 1989 Daytona 500.

Parrott, another Charlotte native, embarked on a remarkable seven-year run with Jarrett in 1996 that featured 26 wins and culminated with the 1999 Cup Series championship while at Robert Yates Racing. This combination finished in the top-three in the title chase for four consecutive seasons from 1996 through 1999 and added a fourth-place finish in 2000 and another top-five in 2001. The duo was victorious one last time at the fall 2005 race at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. In his 14-year tenure at Yates, Parrott also worked with drivers Ernie Irvan, Elliott Sadler and David Gilliland, scoring a pair of wins with Sadler in 2004. Parrott began a three-season run at Richard Petty Motorsports in 2010, where he was reunited with Sadler before joining forces with Marcus Ambrose for a run that included back-to-back wins at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International in 2011 and 2012.

Atlanta Speedwerks Brings Championship Contending Two-Car Honda TCR Team To Watkins Glen For Four-Hour Michelin Pilot Challenge Race

Mid-Ohio 120 - IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge - Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course - 84 Atlanta Speedwerks Honda Civic TCR, Brian Henderson, Robert Noaker

Ryan Eversley Joined by Todd Lamb in No. 94 Honda Civic TCR, With Brian Henderson and Robert Noaker Teamed Again in No. 84 Honda Civic TCR

WATKINS GLEN, New York (June 24, 2021) – Atlanta Speedwerks’ two-car IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge TCR effort returns this week to Watkins Glen International for the four-hour Tioga Downs Casino Resort 240 at The Glen, running second in the team and driver’s championship.

The four-hour race, an endurance race on the Pilot Challenge schedule, begins at 2:35 p.m. EDT on Saturday, June 26 and can be seen live via TrackPass on the NBC Sports app. Ryan Eversley and Todd Lamb will drive the No. 94 Dinner With Racers/Lemons of Love Honda Civic TCR, with Brian Henderson and Robert Noaker piloting the No. 84 Sabelt/Pagid Honda Civic TCR.

Eversley has driven the to the podium in two of the opening three races to put himself second in the Driver’s Championship and boost the No. 94 Atlanta Speedwerks Honda Civic TCR to second in the team championship, as well as a boost to Honda’s manufacturer championship standings. Eversley has done it with a host of co-drivers, however, including Lamb (Daytona International Speedway), Greg Strelzoff (Daytona and Sebring) and Scott Smithson (Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course). Eversley is a multi-time winner at Watkins Glen in a variety of disciplines, including what is now Michelin Pilot Challenge.

Lamb climbs back behind the wheel for the team he also owns for this weekend’s race, though Smithson will be back for his select event schedule at the second of two Watkins Glen races in a week’s time on July 2nd. Like Eversley, Lamb has had success at Watkins Glen in a variety of race series.

Henderson and Noaker are due for a little bit of luck in the No. 84 machine. The car has been quick each and every race, including turning the quickest qualifying lap in each race so far this year. Poor luck and circumstance have not translated into results, however, but the tide may turn this weekend.

Just 17 years old, Noaker is making his first professional racing start at Watkins Glen International. On the other end of the spectrum, Henderson is the wise, old veteran of the car at the age of 24. Henderson’s biggest news since the Mid-Ohio round is his marriage to Alli on May 26.

Drivers and the Atlanta Speedwerks crew will be well-fed at Watkins Glen during the weekend thanks to Roaming Bison Tavern. The Buffalo, N.Y.-based barbecue restaurant will be providing meals for the team throughout the event.

This weekend’s race is a two-day event, with practice at 8 a.m. EDT and 11:35 a.m. EDT on Friday, June 25, followed by qualifying the same day at 3:25 p.m. EDT. Saturday’s four-hour Tioga Downs Casino Resort 240 begins at 2:35 p.m. EDT and can be seen through TrackPass on the NBCSN app.

Brian Henderson, Driver, No. 84 Honda Civic TCR: “It’s been a busy few weeks off, but I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of our No. 84 Atlanta Speedwerks Honda Civic TCR! What a privilege to get to race at The Glen back-to-back. It’s such a fun track to driver, with its massive elevations change and very small margin for error. I know Robert and I will be extremely competitive going into this ‘doubleheader’ and I can’t wait to see how it goes. It’s going to be great to have the fans joining us once again in the paddock, too, and I can’t wait for them to stop by and say hi!”

Robert Noaker, Driver, No. 84 Honda Civic TCR: “This will be my first time racing at Watkins Glen, but I have done testing here in the past. The track is super fun with the elevation change, blind turns, and there isn’t very much room for error with the close walls. Brian has been here before and has been fast. I’m excited to see the difference with the car now that is has the upgrade package applied. The key will be to just take our time and save our equipment to be there for the end of the race.”

Ryan Eversley, Driver, No. 94 Honda Civic TCR: “This is our first time back at Watkins Glen since 2019 and I didn’t even get to drive in that race due to an issue so believe me when I say, I’ve missed Watkins Glen! This weekend also marks the first time we’ll have fans back in the paddock and I’m very happy about that. Todd and I were on the podium together at Daytona and I think our Honda Civic TCR will be even more suited for this track’s layout. We’re sitting second in points so we’re definitely thinking big picture this weekend.”

Todd Lamb, Driver and Team Owner, No. 94 Honda Civic TCR: “Personally, I’m looking forward to getting back in the car with Ryan this weekend. I was able to knock some of the rust off in an SCCA race last here last weekend and feel like we can be competitive and keep the championship hopes moving along. Robert and Brian are also hoping for a result to boost their season and start some momentum, so this really is a chance for a positive weekend for our Honda Civic TCR cars.”

CHEVY NCS AT POCONO: Team Chevy Advance

TEAM CHEVY ADVANCE
POCONO DOUBLEHEADER
POCONO RACEWAY
LONG POND, PENNSYLVANIA
JUNE 26-27, 2021

RACES #18 AND 19 – POCONO
The three NASCAR national series will head to Pennsylvania to tackle the 2.5-mile track known as the ‘Tricky Triangle’: Pocono Raceway. The venue, steeped in stock car tradition, is the host to four races in two action-packed days, including the return of the must-anticipated NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) doubleheader. Chevrolet drivers will aim for the Bowtie Brand’s sixth consecutive NCS victory on Saturday, June 26, in the 130-lap Organics CBD 325. The NASCAR premier series returns to the track on Sunday, June 27, for the 140-lap Explore the Pocono Mountains 350.

Kyle Larson, driving the No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE for Hendrick Motorsports, dominated at Nashville Superspeedway to give Chevrolet its fifth regular-season victory in a row, which it last accomplished between May 10 and June 15 of the 2014 season. Chevrolet last strung together six wins in a row between October 7 and November 11 of the 2007 season, accomplished by Jeff Gordon winning the first two races and Jimmie Johnson claiming the next four on the way to winning the season’s Driver Championship.

In 87 NCS races at Pocono Raceway dating to 1974, Chevrolet drivers have recorded 32 victories, including six in a row at the 2.5-mile “Tricky Triangle” between August 2012 and June 2015. Pocono has hosted two NCS races per season since 1982, and this weekend will mark the second doubleheader.

Team Chevy NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) drivers will compete in the 90-lap Pocono Green 225 Recycled by J.P. Mascaro & Sons on Sunday, June 27. AJ Allmendinger, who was among three Chevrolet drivers to finish in the top-five at Nashville, is second in the Driver Standings. Heading into the Pocono race weekend, Chevrolet continues to lead the Manufacturer Standings.
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) drivers will race in the 60-lap CRC Brakleen 150 on Saturday, June 26. Zane Smith, who led Team Chevy with a fourth place at Nashville, sits fourth in the Driver Standings.

SEEKING TO TIE JOHNSON
At Nashville Superspeedway, Kyle Larson registered his third successive points-paying victory and sixth consecutive top-two finish in regular season races. He also won the non-points NASCAR All-Star Race in middle of the streak.

In NASCAR’s modern era (dating to 1972), drivers have won three in a row 27 times. The last to win four points races in a row was career Chevrolet driver Jimmie Johnson, who accomplished the feat in 2007.

BOWTIE REMAINS TOPS IN STANDINGS
Chevrolet remains atop the NCS Manufacturer Standings. Team Chevy drivers have recorded a field-high eight victories and earned three of the four poles in the 17 regular-season races.

Kyle Larson remains second in the Driver Standings, but has closed to just 10 points of the lead. Hendrick Motorsports teammates William Byron moved to third, and Chase Elliott sits in fourth, to give Chevrolet three of the top-five in the Driver Standings heading into the doubleheader race weekend. Austin Dillon, Alex Bowman and Tyler Reddick remains in the top-13 with just nine races left in the NCS regular season.

ON THE WAY TO THE GREEN
With no practice or qualifying for the races, the starting lineup for the Organics CBD 325 will be determined by NASCAR’s metrics system that was introduced to the series last year and incorporates results from both individual races and season-long results. The lineup for the second race will be determined by the finishing order of the opener. The top 20 will be inverted and 21st to the rear will grid in order.

QUOTABLE QUOTES
KYLE LARSON, NO. 5 HENDRICKCARS.COM CAMARO ZL1 1LE – 2nd IN STANDINGS
LARSON ON POCONO:
“I’ve always enjoyed Pocono because of its uniqueness – every corner is different. I don’t know what to expect with this doubleheader weekend. I’ve done Xfinity and Cup races on the same weekend before, so I don’t think it will be much different. Physically, I won’t prepare differently. We’ll do a lot of preparation looking at data in advance of the first one, then I’m sure there will be a lot of discussion in the debrief Saturday of what went right and what went wrong as we prepare for Sunday’s race.”

CLIFF DANIELS, CREW CHIEF, NO. 5 HENDRICKCARS.COM CAMARO ZL1 1LE
DANIELS ON THE STRATEGY WITH THREE UNIQUE CORNERS:
“We’ve tried different approaches in the past, even picking a specific corner to optimize. The problem with that is it can really hurt you somewhere else. We’re really studying up on what would be the best blend in all areas. If you look at the races last year, the (No.) 4 and 11 teams certainly accomplished that. They weren’t bad in one corner and good in another – they were just overall good. That’s our target this year and hopefully we can hit it.”

WILLIAM BYRON, NO. 24 AXALTA COLOR OF THE YEAR CAMARO ZL1 1LE – 3rd IN STANDINGS
BYRON ON THE DOUBLEHEADER AT POCONO:
“I feel the doubleheader last year allowed us to learn a lot in that first race that we could then apply to the second one. I feel like Pocono is a track that we are good at and on track to be successful every time we show up, we just need to get a little bit better to close the gap on the top guys. It’s honestly a track that both Rudy (Fugle) and I have a lot of success at together and over our careers. I’m not too worried about it though. I feel like having two races there may be a great opportunity for us.”

BYRON ON IF YOU CAN BE GOOD IN ALL THREE CORNERS AT POCONO:
“I think with modern-day NASCAR, you have to be good in all three corners now. Before, it was always you had to pick and choose which corner to be good in and give up in the others. With the engineering we have now, it kind of throws that old thought process out the window. For us, we’re trying to focus on being really good in turn three and then carry that consistency through the other two corners. The hope is to be consistently balanced throughout all three, but I know I want my drive off of turn three to really carry me down the front straightaway and set me up for turn one with momentum into turn two.”

RUDY FUGLE, CREW CHIEF, NO. 24 AXALTA COLOR OF THE YEAR CAMARO ZL1 1LE
FUGLE ON THE NO. 24 TEAM’S CONTINUED SUCCESS HEADING TO POCONO:
“I know the No. 24 team won early in the year and have ran well since then, but I think that the last couple weeks have shown that this team is continuing to build and become a consistent contender to win every time we get on track. The organization as whole is a threat to win every week right now, but we’re trying to make sure that the No. 24 is constantly in contention. My goal this year was to build from a top-10 team to a top-five team and ultimately to a championship-contending team. I think we’re almost to that point. We’re heading to some of our best racetracks which definitely helps as well. We’ll be starting front row for the first of two races at Pocono and that’s one of this team’s best tracks already. This could be a big weekend for the No. 24 team, I can feel it.”

CHASE ELLIOTT, NO. 9 NAPA AUTO PARTS CAMARO ZL1 1LE – 4th IN STANDINGS
ELLIOTT ON STRATEGY FOR DOUBLEHEADER AT POCONO:
“Pocono is such a unique track and I have really enjoyed racing there in the past. It’s always a challenge to get your car balanced in all three corners and then you have to be spot on with your strategy because track position usually plays a big factor. Even though it’s a doubleheader, our approach doesn’t really change from other weekends. We always want to finish toward the front, and we will have our work cut out for us starting near the back on Saturday. I’m looking forward to this weekend and seeing what we can do.”

ALAN GUSTAFSON, CREW CHIEF, NO. 9 NAPA AUTO PARTS CAMARO ZL1 1LE
GUSTAFSON ON THE CHALLENGES OF A POCONO DOUBLEHEADER:
“The doubleheader at Pocono is a bit of a challenge with a lot of variables. You want to have a strong run on Saturday and perform well, while also making sure you take care of all your equipment. Even if it goes as planned, there will still have to be parts and pieces that have to be changed after the first race. It’s important that you go over everything on the car before Sunday. We learned last year that there isn’t a lot of time so you have to adapt pretty quickly and make the adjustments necessary to improve.”

AUSTIN DILLON, NO. 3 RICHARD CHILDRESS RACING CAMARO ZL1 1LE – 11th IN STANDINGS
TALK ABOUT POCONO RACEWAY. IT’S AN INTERESTINGLY-SHAPED TRACK..

ALEX BOWMAN, NO. 48 ALLY CAMARO ZL1 1LE – 12th IN STANDINGS
BOWMAN ON HIS TWO-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION:
“It’s really cool to know that Ally has faith in me and Mr. (Rick) Hendrick has faith in me. I think matching the length of my contract up to Ally’s was kind of the goal all around, and what was kind of expected and normal. The way the industry is today, there aren’t five-year contracts out there like there used to be. I’m not going to complain too much. I’m driving the 48 for Hendrick Motorsports – it’s not so bad.”

BOWMAN ON THE LOGISTICS OF POCONO RACEWAY:
“Pocono is a fun but tricky track. All three corners are completely different, which makes the track extremely technical. The track is also tough to pass at because of how the groove is and how it doesn’t widen out as much. We are typically really fast here and everyone back at the shop is building fast cars right now.”

GREG IVES, CREW CHIEF, NO. 48 ALLY CAMARO ZL1 1LE
IVES ON HIS STRATEGY FOR THE DOUBLEHEADER:
“The goal is to come out of that first race with a win. The only thing we would have to do is clean up the confetti to get the car ready for race No. 2. I don’t think that you can get into a race and play it conservatively. These drivers are the best around, so they know what their limits are and who they are racing. You have the mindset of playing it safe, but it’s not on the forefront of your mind. You just do what it takes to get a win.”

TYLER REDDICK, NO. 8 RICHARD CHILDRESS RACING CAMARO ZL1 1LE – 13th IN STANDINGS
AT POCONO, WHAT’S THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE WITH A DOUBLEHEADER RACE WEEKEND?
“You have to make sure you have a smooth weekend. If you have a really bad day on Saturday and don’t get any points, it’s really going to set you back going into Sunday. One, you now have no notes really compared to the field that ran the entire race on Saturday and then you’ll have to lean on your teammates. And then two, you’re going to a backup car. You’re not getting to work on the piece that you raced all day; you’re having to start from scratch and hope that you have a pretty good target or get within the target you’re searching for. We just had really bad doubleheaders at Pocono and Michigan. So, that’s going to be our goal; to race hard. We want to go get points and do this and that; but understand that Saturday is very important. You have to realize every risky decision and everything that you could do on Saturday that could be a risk potential effects what happens ultimately on Sunday, as well.”

DANIEL SUAREZ, NO. 99 COMMSCOPE CAMARO ZL1 1LE – 21st IN STANDINGS
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON POCONO?
“It was cool to get the pole there in 2018 and then we finished second in the race that weekend. At Pocono, it always helps to have a good starting spot. Pocono is a track where you can’t make mistakes on the track, and you can’t have mistakes on pit road. Everyone has to do their part to execute perfectly. “

WHAT DO YOU FEEL IS MOST IMPORTANT TO BE SUCCESSFUL AT POCONO?
“Track position is extremely important every weekend, but it’s especially important at Pocono. If you make a mistake, it takes so much longer and is so much harder to recover from. It’s a tough place for sure.”

ERIK JONES, NO. 43 MEDALLION BANK CAMARO ZL1 1LE – 24th IN STANDINGS
THOUGHTS ON THE DOUBLEHEADER WEEKEND AND HOW YOU PREPARE FOR THAT AS A DRIVER?
“Doubleheader races are cool. Last year was the first time we really got the chance to do that. It went really smooth as a group. It is always fun. Especially with not having any practice, a doubleheader gives you that chance to practice. The first race is a little bit of a practice race, going out there to get a feel for your car. If it is not 100 percent how you want it, you make better changes for the next day and have a shot to go out there and run a little bit better. I enjoy it. It is a chance to get out there and evaluate your Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE and have the opportunity to make it better.”

COREY LAJOIE, NO. 7 NATIONSGUARD CAMARO ZL1 1LE – 29th IN STANDINGS
“We’ll carry our momentum of 4 straight top 20s, which is a first in my Cup career as well as the team’s, into the doubleheader at Pocono. I’ve won there in the ARCA series and it’s one of the most unique tracks on the NASCAR schedule. Every corner takes a different style of attack. It will be important to have a good balance for all 3 corners. Having the chance to work on the car after the Saturday race to get even better for Sunday is important for our small team with limited practices. Looking forward to giving our NationsGuard Chevy a good run on both days.”
