Real Results: Dyno Testing 200 Series Exhaust Upgrades

When it comes to getting the most out of your Toyota LandCruiser 200 Series, few upgrades deliver a more noticeable difference than a quality exhaust system. Whether you’re chasing more power, better towing performance, or improved fuel efficiency, upgrading your 200 series exhaust can completely change how your vehicle drives. But how much difference does it really make? To find out, we turn to dyno testing, where the numbers don’t lie.

Why the 200 Series Responds So Well to Exhaust Upgrades

The 200 Series LandCruiser is one of the most capable 4WDs on the market, built for reliability and strength. The Dyno Testing Process

Our testing was conducted on a twin-turbo V8 diesel LandCruiser 200 Series with standard tuning, using a 3-inch stainless steel performance exhaust system. The aim was to see how much difference the exhaust alone could make before any ECU tuning or other modifications.

Before the upgrade, the stock LandCruiser produced an average of 166 kW and 620 Nm of torque at the wheels. After fitting the new system, power climbed to 178 kW and 670 Nm, showing a clear gain across the entire rev range. The difference was especially noticeable in the mid-range, where the turbochargers could spool up faster thanks to the improved exhaust flow.

What the Numbers Mean on the Road

The dyno results tell an impressive story, but the real-world difference is even more noticeable behind the wheel. With the upgraded 200 series exhaust, throttle response feels sharper, particularly during acceleration and overtaking. The vehicle pulls harder through the mid-range, which is exactly where most drivers need torque, especially when towing or tackling steep inclines.

Turbo lag is reduced, and the engine feels smoother overall. Drivers also report that the LandCruiser holds gears longer under load, making towing caravans or trailers feel easier and more controlled. The improvement in exhaust note is another welcome bonus – deeper and more refined without being excessively loud.

Materials and Build Quality Matter

Not all exhaust systems are created equal. The best 200 series exhaust upgrades are made from 409 or 304-grade stainless steel, which offers excellent corrosion resistance and durability, crucial for Australia’s harsh conditions.

A high-quality exhaust system should also include heavy-duty flanges, welded hangers, and quality clamps to ensure a proper fit and long-lasting performance.

Sound and Comfort Considerations

One of the main concerns for 200 Series owners considering an exhaust upgrade is noise. The factory system is whisper-quiet, but most aftermarket options aim for a balance between performance and sound quality.

A well-designed 200 series exhaust won’t make your LandCruiser obnoxiously loud. It will simply enhance the tone. At idle, you’ll hear a deeper rumble, while under acceleration it produces a rich, throaty note that reflects the power under the bonnet. On the highway, noise levels remain comfortable, making it suitable for family touring or long-distance towing.

If you prefer a quieter experience, many manufacturers offer systems with resonators or muffler options to reduce drone while keeping performance gains intact.

Towing and Fuel Efficiency Benefits

For LandCruiser owners who tow caravans, boats, or work trailers, an upgraded exhaust can provide noticeable improvements. The increase in torque helps reduce strain on the engine and transmission, allowing for smoother acceleration even when carrying heavy loads.

Dyno data shows that improved exhaust flow leads to lower exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs), which is critical for maintaining long-term engine health during heavy towing. Reduced EGTs mean less heat stress on components, translating to better reliability on long trips through WA or the outback.

Fuel efficiency can also improve slightly, especially on highways where the engine doesn’t have to work as hard to maintain speed. While gains vary depending on driving habits, most owners report a small but welcome reduction in fuel use after the upgrade.

ELITE MOTORSPORTS LOOKING FOR VICTORY TO CLOSE OUT 2025 SEASON

POMONA, Calif. (Nov. 12, 2025) – Elite Motorsports enters the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals, the finale of the 2025 Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series season, with momentum. With points-and-a-half up for grabs at historic In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip the Pro Stock powerhouse is poised for a strong close, spearheaded by Aaron Stanfield in the Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage / Melling Performance / Janac Brother’s Racing Chevrolet Camaro.

Stanfield has navigated a challenging 2025 season with resilience, transforming early inconsistencies into late-season reliability. Stanfield will be chasing his first victory of the season to avoid his first winless year since competing in Pro Stock fulltime in 2020. The Elite standout has notched 20 round wins across 17 events, including runner-up finishes at the Sonoma Nationals where he came up short to father, Greg Stanfield, and the Texas FallNationals. He also visited the final quad of the fall Four-Wide Carolina Nationals and has five semifinal finishes on the season.

Sitting fourth in the Pro Stock championship points standings, Stanfield is only 38 behind third-place Matt Hartford and enters Pomona with a chance to tie a career best points finish of third (he previously finished third in 2024 and 2022).

“It’s been a tough year at Elite Motorsports, we’ve been honest about that,” Stanfield said. “But we’re ending the season well ahead of where we started. That’s a testament to the no-quit attitude of this entire organization. Everyone has buckled down and put in the work. If anything, we’re in a good spot for 2026. The goal is to go out with a win and in the best points position possible. Wouldn’t want to be battling out here with anyone else.”

Pomona has been a proving ground for Stanfield, where he owns a pair of Wallys from prior visits. He claimed victory at the 2023 NHRA Finals, outrunning Hartford in the final, he took home a win at the 2021 Winternationals when he defeated rival and now six-time world champion Greg Anderson and in 2022 he came up short in the Winternatioanls to teammate Erica Enders. Earlier this year at the Winternationals Stanfield qualified fourth but had an uncharacteristic first round exit.

Fellow Elite star Erica Enders, piloting the JHG / Melling / SCAG Power Equipment entry, enters the finale in sixth place, 15 points back from fifth and within striking distance of a fourth-place finish. The six-time Pro Stock champion etched more history this season with her 50th national event victory at the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. She’ll be looking for her third win at In-N-Out Pomona Dragstrip. She had wins in 2022 at the Winternationals and in 2014 at the Finals.

Veteran Jeg Coughlin Jr., behind the wheel of the SCAG / Outlaw Beer machine, brings unmatched experience to the Elite lineup as an eight-time winner at the Southern California facility (four at the Finals, three at the Winternationals and one at the specialty NHRA 50th Anniversary race in 2001). The five-time Pro Stock world champion is sitting eighth in the points standings with hopes a ninth victory in Pomona could move him into sixth.

Troy Coughlin Jr., driving the JEGS.com car, sits 10th in the points standings and is hoping his first win at In-N-Out Pomona Dragstrip will solidify his top ten standing.

Greg Stanfield and the Janac Brothers / The Rod Shop team are hoping a win this weekend (their second of the season) will push them from 12th into a top 10 points finish. A victory on Sunday would mark the veterans second at the facility, he also won at the Finals in 2011.

Rounding out the Elite charge are the dynamic Cuadra Boys Racing trio—Fernando Cuadra Jr., David Cuadra, and Cristian Cuadra—fielding their Corral Tequila / Corral Belts/ Cuadra machines. The brothers have been putting up fierce campaigns for who will be the first Cuadra to visit the winners circle. Running a partial season, the Cuadras are out of championship points with Fernando Jr. 15th, Cristian, 17th and David 18th.

Competition at the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals begins with four rounds of qualifying Friday at 12:30 and 3:00 p.m. and Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. before eliminations begins Sunday at 11:00 a.m. with Pro Stock first round at 12:05 p.m. Television coverage of the 2025 Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series finale will be on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) with qualifying shows Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET and Sunday at 11:00 a.m. ET. Eliminations will air Sunday at 5:00 p.m. ET with a special Post Race Show at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Nemschoff and Miller Conclude Super Trofeo Season Third in Championship

MISANO ADRIATICO, Italy (November 12, 2025) – The 2025 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season came to a close last weekend at Misano World Circuit, where Flying Lizard Motorsports celebrated a strong year-end result for drivers Paul Nemschoff and Marc Miller, who secured third place in the PRO-AM championship standings.

“As always, it is a privilege to compete internationally against some of the best drivers in the world in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series,” said Program Manager Darren Law. “We had well-prepared race cars and executed clean, competitive races. I am extremely proud of Paul and Marc for their dedication and resilience in maintaining their positions in the Drivers’ Championship. Securing a podium finish in any racing series is a significant achievement, and it was rewarding to bring that result home for both them and the entire team.”

North America Race One

The No. 114 Sparklefarts of Andy Lee led the charge for Flying Lizard Motorsports, taking the green flag from third place, while the No. 141 Lamborghini of Paul Nemschoff and Marc Miller started fifth, swapping their starting strategy from the No. 114. Unfortunately, a braking issue sidelined the No. 114 after two off-track excursions, ending Lee’s and Sparklefarts’ weekend prematurely. Nemschoff took the opening stint, maintaining a clean run through early traffic. Nemschoff handed the car over from fourth position during the mandatory pit window, but a brief delay in pit lane cost valuable seconds. Rejoining with a gap to close, Miller pushed hard in the closing laps, narrowing the deficit to the third-place runner but ultimately finishing just shy of the podium.

North America Race Two

Motivated by Saturday’s performance, Miller started Race Two from second in class and seventh overall. A clean three-wide start saw him defend his position and close on the No. 111 entry of Darius Trinka. Running strong through his stint, Miller stayed out late to take advantage of clear air before handing off to Nemschoff during the pit cycle.

Rejoining in third, Nemschoff faced a five-second gap ahead and three seconds behind. He maintained consistent pace to the end, holding off challengers to finish fourth in class, capping off the North America rounds on a positive note.

Lamborghini World Finals

In the weekend’s culminating Lamborghini World Finals, Nemschoff and Miller joined the combined PRO and PRO-AM grid, taking on 26 of the world’s best competitors in a pair of 50-minute races.

In Race One, Nemschoff started 14th in class, gaining two spots before handing the car to Miller. A late safety car bunched the field, and while chaos ensued in the closing laps, Miller kept it clean to finish 12th in class. The second race brought chilly morning conditions and a turbulent start. Miller, beginning eighth, skillfully navigated an opening-lap incident and climbed to sixth before handing off to Nemschoff. The Am driver delivered a composed and strategic run through traffic, advancing to third place in class at the checkered flag, giving the duo a strong conclusion to their international effort.

At the end of the weekend, Flying Lizard Motorsports celebrated a successful 2025 campaign, highlighted by third place in the PRO-AM drivers championship, a marked improvement from their previous two seasons together.

The team now shifts focus to preparations for the 2026 season, with program details to be announced at a later date.

PT Autosport’s Stallone captures the Mazda MX-5 Cup Shootout

MILLVILLE, NJ (November 12, 2025) – Max Stallone took the lessons learned at the 2024 PT Autosport Aspiring Driver Shootout to capture the top prize in last week’s Mazda MX-5 Shootout after leading every single session in which he ran and heading the speed charts on both days.

With a third-place finish in last year’s PT Autosport shootout, Stallone went on to earn five top 10 finishes in six GR Cup races this year before learning that he was at the limit of pro race starts to qualify for the 2025 Mazda MX-5 Shootout. Sidelining himself for the GR Cup season finale, he earned a spot in the MX-5 Shootout and went on to earn the top prize – a $150,000 scholarship to contest the 2026 Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin – in dominant fashion.

The 19-year-old Austin, Texas native has been racing a modified Spec Miata since 2023, running several Champ Car endurance races (with a win at VIR in 2024) as well as NASA and SCCA events. But the Spec Miata has little in common with the MX-5 Cup car, which has more power, ABS, and traction control – “it probably has more in common with a GR Cup car than a Spec Miata,” said Stallone. The first time Stallone drove the MX-5 Cup car was day one of the Shootout. Nervous? Yes – and no.

“The PT Autosport shootout really helped me handle the pressure,” said Stallone. “A few people mentioned that to me, which I hadn’t even realized, that I wasn’t really bothered by everything that was happening. The stressful experience in the PT Autosport shootout, and then how competitive GR Cup is – I jumped right into that environment in the middle of the season, when everybody was already firing on all cylinders. I’m not saying that the MX-5 Shootout wasn’t pressure packed, but I’d been there before, so I managed it well.”

Just a few laps into his first stint at the MX-5 Shootout, Stallone was up to speed, finding that the car suited his driving style. Even so, he was not prepared to discover that he had set the quickest time.

“I was shocked,” said Stallone. “I thought there was no way on earth I’d be the quickest in my first session. I’d never driven the car and you’d expect that I would start a little slow and catch up to them, but it was the opposite: I started out fastest and the other drivers closed the gap to me throughout the three sessions but didn’t go quicker. Totally not how I expected it to go.”

As day two progressed and he continued to lead, Stallone was careful not to let his thoughts get out ahead of himself.

“I knew I’d been the fastest, but I knew I wasn’t that much better than the other drivers so if I didn’t stay in it, my name would tumble down the order, so I had to keep my mindset right. And from the PT Autosport shootout, I knew that speed alone wasn’t going to win me the scholarship.

“And that was where the PT Autosport experience helped hugely, because I was able to give a good concrete example of other opportunities I’ve created for myself. Mazda also wanted to see how we presented ourselves, our ability to interact and talk with them, to be a good representative of the brand.”

The only moment of fear Stallone experienced came during the afternoon of day two. Three drivers headed out for the final session, but the driver list did not include Stallone – who had no idea if he’d blown it.

“I knew it was close,” said Stallone. “I knew how talented everybody else was and I knew how there was more to the final decision than just lap time. So I admit, I was a little confused, not sure where I put a foot wrong to have not been selected for that final session.
I think that in the end, they appreciated that I didn’t flip out, that I just handled it well.”

And when series announcer/Shootout host Shea Adam called his name?

“So many emotions. I was just standing in the back because I wasn’t sure where I stood. When Shea called Ethan Lampe in second, that’s kind of when it hit me and my brain started to shift and it kind of pulled me out of the fog that I was in. It was a surreal feeling; I don’t think I’ve fully processed it yet. I don’t think I even got that excited, because I was struggling to wrap my head around all of it, so I just hugged my dad.

“I am so very thankful, just a ton of gratitude – to Mazda and MX-5 for this incredible opportunity, and to PT Autosport for helping to put me into this position. I’m looking forward to next season, to running in this insanely competitive series. I can’t wait for Daytona in January!”

For PT Autosport management, including team principal Jason Myers, Stallone’s win came as no surprise – though Myers did acknowledge the way fate had stepped in to align Stallone’s 2025 racing campaign.

“We couldn’t be more proud of Max,” said Myers. “We were extremely impressed with him at our Shootout last year, making the decision not to put him on the top step mainly because we wanted to see what he would do this coming year, hoping he would be ready to battle for the Shootout win in 2025. As fate would have it, that didn’t happen and he ran those six GR Cup races with us this year when we needed to fill that seat. As we watched him on track, we wondered if we’d erred in not declaring him the winner of our Shootout last year but if we had, he wouldn’t have been eligible for the Mazda Shootout, so everything happened the way it was supposed to – sometimes the universe has a plan! We know he will succeed, given his work ethic, which we really respect. We look forward to continuing our support of Max as he enters the IMSA Whelen MX-5 Cup for the 2026 season.”

DALLAS GLENN RETURNS TO IN-N-OUT BURGER POMONA DRAGSTRIP LOOKING FOR PRO STOCK REDEMPTION

POMONA, Calif. (Nov. 12, 2025) – The 2024 NHRA Pro Stock world championship was a race for the history books, and one Dallas Glenn will never forget.

He missed out on his first championship by a .002-second margin to his KB Titan Racing teammate and six-time champ Greg Anderson, but at this weekend’s 60th annual In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals at famed In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip, Glenn has a chance for redemption at the final race of the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season.

Coming into this weekend’s event, Glenn and his RAD Torque Systems team have eight wins on the season, including four in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs. Entering the final event of the season with a 92-point lead over Anderson, Glenn has a calm outlook for Pomona and is ready to get to the track.

“I definitely feel way more relaxed and way less nervous,” said Glenn. “I was a wreck last year, even though I felt like I was still driving well. Now, having another year of experience has definitely helped. I know I need to go up there and do my thing, and just take it one round at a time.”

Last season, Antron Brown (Top Fuel), Jack Beckman (Funny Car), Anderson (Pro Stock) and Matt Smith (Pro Stock Motorcycle) won the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals while Brown, Austin Prock (Funny Car), Anderson and Gaige Herrera (Pro Stock Motorcycle) each secured world titles. The 2025 race will again be broadcast on FS1, including eliminations coverage starting at 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 16.

It’s the sixth race of the playoffs and the 20th race of the season and Glenn has his mind focused on making this year’s In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals one he remembers for a different reason. To clinch the title, Glenn would just need to win the first round of eliminations if he can keep the points gap above 90 heading into raceday.

Should that 90-plus point lead hold heading into eliminations, Anderson would to need to win the -N-Out Burger NHRA Finals, a race he has won nine times, and Glenn would need to lose in the opening round for the reigning champ to repeat. Some drivers might be there for a quick and clean race, while others might be there to cause complete chaos. To have the best racing experience, join a lobby that fits how you want to race, or find a group of players who align with your racing preferences.

Online Mode is solid enough. There isn’t a way to create private lobbies other than setting a player limit and having your friend join before anyone else. You’re also stuck waiting a minute for the race to start; however, the soundtrack is good and allows for a reprieve between matches.

Another thing is that the options for adjusting settings also seem limited in multiplayer, or maybe just a knowledge check. The settings seemed to change randomly, and adjusting AI difficulty didn’t appear to be an option; however, expert Mode was sometimes enabled and sometimes not, depending on various settings.

Final thoughts

The presentation in the game is top-notch, and the tracks are all unique, and even the fans in the stands look and sound really impressive. The car handling is pretty sweet and gets even better after some races, and you can purchase better parts. The AI is pretty tame for the most part, though. I’d like to see more roughing up after some contact from you or other drivers; it might look and feel more real, but that’s just my opinion.

The team radio is decent, notifying you of potential gaps or cars approaching on either side. Each track looks very real, and the lights and darks, and the glaring sun at times make you feel like you are actually there. The damage done during the race is not only felt in your car’s performance, but also felt in your garage after each race. If you race hard and recklessly, you will have a hefty repair bill and see your hard-earned race earnings depleted by the cost of fixing chassis, engines, suspensions, or body parts. If you are unable to fix or replace everything, it will affect your next race.

All in all, NASCAR 25 is very realistic and absolutely great. If you are a pro or even a novice, give it a try; there are game options for everyone to enjoy.
