COLUMBUS, Ohio (June 27, 2024) – One of the biggest events of the year on the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series circuit, the JEGS NHRA SPORTSnationals returns to National Trail Raceway in Columbus, Ohio on July 10-11.

The race has enjoyed a storied history, but this year may be the biggest JEGS NHRA SPORTSnationals yet, offering the largest purse ever for the program.

This year’s event will offer more than $350,000 to the hundreds of racers competing, which includes more than $100,000 in contingency offerings. It’s also part of a huge doubleheader weekend that includes a North Central Division Regional event at the popular facility on July 12-13. Combined, it’s one of the biggest race weekends of the year for the standout drivers in the Lucas Oil NHRA Drag Racing Series.

The JEGS SPEEDweek doubleheader event will attract more than 600 competitors from all seven NHRA divisions across the country. Drivers in eight different categories will be competing for more than $400,000 at the action-packed weekend, laying its claim as one of the marquee events of the sportsman season.

“JEGS is excited to continue our partnership with the NHRA and the sportsman racers at the 2024 JEGS NHRA SPORTSnationals,” said David Salin, JEGS Director of Marketing and Sponsorships. “We are lucky to be a part of an event that commemorates the very racers that have developed the sport of drag racing.

JEGS, an industry-leading DTC, e-commerce retailer and distributor of high-performance automotive aftermarket parts and accessories, will have a strong presence on and off the track, with several Team JEGS racers competing at both the SPORTSnationals and regional event.

The week begins with a special racer appreciation breakfast served by the National Trail Raceway and NHRA staff, moving right into nonstop action on the track. That includes Stock and Super Stock Class Eliminations, as well as special shootouts added to the Wednesday schedule.

Also on the line is the one-of-a-kind copper Wally branded with JEGS for the winners at the JEGS NHRA SPORTSnationals, adding another level of prestige to the event. Event champions who double-up two years in a row will also receive the elusive JEGS Crown Trophy, yet one more incentive for drivers competing at National Trail Raceway.

“Each year we look forward to hosting this massive JEGS SPEEDweek doubleheader. It is an honor to host such a marquee event on the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series schedule,” National Trail Raceway owner Jay Livingston said. “Last year, we had such a great time getting out with our racers on Wednesday morning and cooking breakfast that we had to bring it back for this year. We’re excited for another great event and we can’t wait to see everyone.”

Among the 600-plus cars competing during JEGS SPEEDweek are the talented drivers in the Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car classes, giving fans 270-mph racing during the regional event. In all, fans will have the chance to take in four days of incredible racing

“As a longtime partner with National Trail Raceway, we are looking forward to hosting the event at this state-of-the-art facility,” JEGS Social Media and Events Manager Makenna Brown said. “Since it is located in JEGS’s backyard of Central Ohio, it adds to how important this event is to us. Magnus Racing Strategy Secures Podium Finish at Six Hours of the Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (June 27, 2024) – After a challenging 2024 season, Magnus Racing triumphantly returned to the podium in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The No. 44 Flex-Box Aston Martin Vantage GT3 team showcased exceptional race craft and strategic acumen, surmounting various obstacles to gain ten positions in Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen. Drivers John Potter, Andy Lally, and Spencer Pumpelly celebrated their achievement with champagne on the third step of the podium.

“The race had thrills, spills, and chills,” said Team Somebody John Potter. “The only thing more uncertain than the weather was the red flag officiating! The car ran great all day, and the Magnus crew did an excellent job on the stops. Andy and Spencer handled the weather uncertainty of their stints perfectly.”

The team’s performance on Sunday was a testament to learning from past challenges and applying those lessons to future races. In 2022, severe weather at Watkins Glen International led to a lengthy red flag period, causing the team to miss the minimum required drive time for Andy Lally. This year, with predicted storms once again threatening the race, Magnus Racing meticulously planned to ensure all three drivers met the required drive time, even in the event of a red flag.

John Potter began the race from 13th position and masterfully cracked into the top ten in the 21-deep GTD field before he concluded his driving duties. He handed off to Andy Lally for a single stint, setting the stage for their eventual podium finish. Spencer Pumpelly took over with just under two and a half hours of racing complete, clocking in his required drive time and skillfully navigating the Aston Martin through multiple cautions, incidents, and a brief squall. Lally returned to the driver’s seat for the final third of the race in fifth place, ensuring he met the drive time requirement despite a late red flag period. He crossed the finish line in fourth, but race control’s scrutiny of drive times altered the final results.

Magnus Racing’s strategic foresight paid off when the No. 120 Porsche’s finishing driver failed to meet the drive time requirement, elevating Magnus Racing to third place.

Why You Need a Personal Injury Attorney in Las Vegas After an Accident

Photo by Scott Graham on Unsplash

Accidents are unexpected and can turn your life upside down. Dealing with medical bills, personal injuries, and insurance companies can be overwhelming. If you’ve been in an accident in Las Vegas, hiring a personal injury attorney is a smart move. Here’s why having a personal injury attorney in Las Vegas can make a significant difference.

Understanding Your Rights

After an accident, you have rights. However, many people aren’t aware of them. A personal injury attorney knows the law and can explain your rights clearly. They ensure you get what you deserve, whether medical care or compensation.

Managing Medical Bills and Expenses

Accidents often result in large medical bills. You might also face expenses for rehabilitation, medication, and sometimes even home care. A personal injury attorney can help you:

  • Work through medical paperwork
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers
  • Ensure that all medical expenses are covered

Dealing with Insurance Companies

Insurance companies are known for trying to minimize payouts. They have experienced adjusters who can easily exploit someone without legal representation. Here’s how a personal injury attorney can help:

  • Handle all communication with the insurance company
  • Negotiate a fair settlement
  • Prevent insurance companies from offering a lowball settlement

Proving Liability and Gathering Evidence

Proving who is at fault in an accident is essential for your case. A personal injury attorney will:

  • Collect and review evidence like police reports and medical records
  • Interview witnesses
  • Work with experts to reconstruct the accident scene if necessary

Calculating Fair Compensation

Determining how much compensation you should get can be complex. It’s not just about covering your medical bills. A personal injury attorney will consider the following:

  • Lost wages
  • Future medical expenses
  • Pain and suffering
  • Emotional distress

They will ensure that all these factors are included in your claim.

Filing and Managing Your Claim

Filing a personal injury claim involves many steps and strict deadlines. A personal injury attorney will:

  • File the necessary paperwork
  • Meet all deadlines
  • Keep you updated on the progress of your case

Representing You in Court

Most personal injury cases are settled out of court. However, having an attorney to represent you is essential if your case goes to trial. They will:

  • Present your case to the judge and jury
  • Cross-examine witnesses
  • Make compelling arguments on your behalf

Peace of Mind

Dealing with the aftermath of an accident can be highly stressful. Hiring a personal injury attorney will allow you to focus on your recovery while they handle all of the legal aspects. Knowing that a professional is fighting for your rights, you’ll have peace of mind.

No Upfront Fees

Many personal injury attorneys will work on what’s called a contingency fee basis. This means that you don’t pay anything upfront. They will get paid only if you win your case. This arrangement makes it easier for accident victims to get legal representation without worrying about legal fees.

Maximizing Your Settlement

Studies have shown that accident victims who hire attorneys often receive higher settlements than those who don’t. An experienced personal injury attorney knows how to build a strong case and will fight to get you the best possible outcome.

Local Experience

Choosing a personal injury attorney in Las Vegas is beneficial because they have local experience. They are familiar with local laws, courts, and procedures. This local knowledge can give you an edge in your case.

Get the Support You Need

Hiring a personal injury attorney in Las Vegas after an accident is wise. They will help you understand your rights, gather evidence, handle insurance companies, calculate a fair compensation, and represent you in court if needed. With a personal injury attorney by your side, you can focus on your recovery while they take care of the legal aspects, ensuring you get the compensation you deserve.

Don’t face this challenging time alone—get the support and experience you need to move forward. A knowledgeable attorney will be your advocate, fighting for your best interests and providing the guidance you need to handle the complexities of your case.

Insuring Your Vehicles: 4 Useful Tips to Have in Mind

Insuring your vehicle is an essential step to protect both your investment and your peace of mind. With so many options and variables to consider, navigating the world of auto insurance can often feel overwhelming. To help you make informed decisions, we’ve compiled a list of four useful tips to keep in mind when insuring your vehicle. Whether you’re a first-time car owner or looking to update your current policy, these insights will guide you toward finding the coverage that’s right for you.

1. Understand Your Coverage Needs

Before diving into the myriad of auto insurance policies available, take the time to assess your specific coverage needs. This involves understanding the mandatory insurance requirements in your state, as well as considering additional coverages such as collision, comprehensive, and uninsured motorist protection. Evaluating factors such as your vehicle’s value, your driving habits, and your personal risk tolerance can help you determine which coverages are essential for you.

It’s also wise to think about your financial situation when selecting coverage limits and deductibles. Lower deductibles may result in higher premiums, but they can provide greater financial protection in the event of an accident. Conversely, higher deductibles can lower your premium costs but require more out-of-pocket expenses if you have to file a claim. Balancing these considerations will enable you to tailor an insurance plan that aligns with both your needs and budget. Whether you’re looking for motorbike coverage plans or auto insurance, understanding your coverage needs is a crucial first step. Consider discussing your options with an insurance agent who can guide you through the process.

2. Shop Around for the Best Rates

When it comes to auto insurance, not all policies are created equal, and prices can vary significantly from one provider to another. To ensure you’re getting the best deal, it’s crucial to shop around and compare quotes from multiple insurance companies. Utilize online comparison tools and consult with independent insurance agents who can offer unbiased advice and present you with a range of options.

Remember, the cheapest policy isn’t always the best. Pay attention to the reputation of the insurance company, their customer service, and the specific terms and conditions of their policies. Reading customer reviews and checking ratings can provide valuable insights into an insurer’s reliability and overall customer satisfaction.

3. Take Advantage of Discounts

Many insurance companies offer a variety of discounts that can significantly reduce your premium costs. Common discounts include those for safe driving, having multiple policies with the same insurer (such as home and auto), and driving a vehicle equipped with safety features like anti-lock brakes or an anti-theft system. By inquiring about all available discounts, you can maximize your savings without compromising on coverage.

Consider enrolling in a defensive driving course, which not only enhances your driving skills but may also qualify you for a discount. Maintaining a good credit score can also lead to lower premiums, as many insurers factor credit ratings into their pricing models. Taking proactive steps to fulfill discount criteria can yield long-term financial benefits.

4. Regularly Review and Update Your Policy

As time goes on and your circumstances change, your auto insurance needs may evolve. It’s important to regularly review your policy to ensure it still meets your needs and offers adequate protection. Major life events such as purchasing a new vehicle, moving to a different location, or adding a new driver to your policy can impact your coverage requirements.

Reassessing your policy annually or when significant changes occur allows you to make necessary adjustments and stay adequately insured. Additionally, staying informed about any new discounts, coverage options, or rate changes can help you continually optimize your policy. By routinely keeping your insurance up to date, you can ensure that you are always receiving the best value and protection.

Insuring your vehicles requires careful consideration and ongoing attention. By understanding your coverage needs, shopping around for the best rates, taking advantage of discounts, and regularly reviewing and updating your policy, you can feel confident that you have the right coverage to protect both your vehicles and yourself.

Tips on Protecting Your Rights After a Car Accident

Photo by Per Lööv on Unsplash

With an estimated 6,000 vehicle crashes annually, there’s a chance you’ll be involved in a car accident at some point in Seattle, WA. Don’t start panicking or searching for ways you can avoid accidents when hitting the roads—you don’t need to become a hermit to avoid being involved in a car accident.

Practicing safe driving habits like obeying all traffic laws can go a long way towards keeping you safe. However, if you’re involved in a vehicle crash, do you know what to do? The steps you take after an accident can help protect your rights and ensure you can receive compensation for your damages.

What You Should and Shouldn’t Do After a Vehicle Crash

Unfortunately, you’re not a statistic. You’re involved in a vehicle collision and you’re not the at-fault driver, which is good news for your accident claim since Washington is an at-fault insurance state. This means you turn to the driver responsible for the accident insurance company for compensation.

If you’re responsible for the accident, usually your insurance covers the damages. This includes your damages, along with those sustained by other motorists involved in the accident.

So, you’re not the at-fault driver and are planning on filing a claim to help recover your losses. This typically includes any expenses relating to your injuries, along with property damage. You can also list other damages like lost wages and mental anguish.

Your attorney can help you compile a list for your claim. Before you get to the step where you start listing your damages, there are a few things you should do.

Visit a Healthcare Provider

Not all car crashes require a ride to the hospital in an ambulance. Sometimes injuries are minor or you may feel like you’re fine. Even if you don’t think you sustained any injuries, you still want to make an appointment with your healthcare provider.

Some injuries, like soft tissue ones, can take days or even weeks before they start showing noticeable signs and symptoms. The last thing you want to do is file an accident claim only to discover you’re going to incur medical expenses.

You’ll need your medical records to prove your injury claim. Without medical files, you can’t provide the insurance company with the necessary proof.

What you don’t want to do is announce at the accident scene that you’re injury-free. Go ahead and decline the ambulance ride but let everyone know your caregiver will examine you. If you tell everyone you’re fine and then try to submit an injury claim, the insurance company can try to use your initial statements against you.

Take Pictures if Possible

No, you’re not taking scenic pictures—these images aren’t going into a keepsake album. Instead, you want to try and document the accident scene. The more evidence you have to support your case the harder it is for the insurance company to dispute your claim.

Take pictures of your injuries and property damage, and try to get a few pictures of where the involved vehicles ended up. Sometimes, being able to show where the vehicles ended up after the crash can help support your version of events.

Don’t worry about taking photos of the other drivers or getting close-ups of their vehicle damage. Try to keep a safe distance. Emotions tend to run high after an accident and you don’t want to end up in an altercation with an upset driver. Let the authorities take care of this part of the evidentiary process.

Get Repair or Replacement Estimates

Chances are you have some property damage after an auto accident, and even a minor fender bender can throw off your vehicle’s suspension or alignment.

Take your vehicle to a couple of repair shops, as insurance companies like having options when it’s time to pay out an accident claim. Don’t be surprised if the insurance adjuster goes with the lowest repair estimate—this is normal and a reason why you’re collecting more than one estimate.

If your vehicle is beyond repair, head to the Kelley Blue Book website, as this is the resource most insurance companies use when they’re determining vehicle value. Also, don’t be surprised if you learn your vehicle is worth less than you thought.

Automobiles start depreciating the second it’s driven off the lot. However, knowing the value of your vehicle can help speed up the claim process. There’s one less thing for you to get stuck negotiating over with the insurance adjuster.

Get a Copy of Your Accident Report

Your personal injury claim isn’t going to go very far if you can’t prove the accident occurred. This is when your police accident report comes in handy.

Your accident report contains a lot of vital information like the contact information for the other involved driver. If any witnesses were present, their information is also included in the accident report.

Your attorney is probably going to want to interview any witnesses. Their testimony can help support your claim. The defendant’s insurance company is also going to talk to any witness, so be careful what you say.

Anything you say to the witnesses can be used against you by the defendant’s insurance company. Your statements may not invalidate your claim but they can decrease its value.

Pay Attention to Filing Deadlines

As long as you’re only filing a claim, there’s only one deadline to pay attention to. You want to file your claim before the statute of limitations runs out.

In Washington, you have three years to file a personal injury claim. The clock starts ticking on the date of the accident. Once you file a claim, you can stop worrying about the statute.

If your claim has progressed to a lawsuit, there will be additional deadlines. These deadlines are set by the court and it’s your responsibility to meet each one of them.

Consult With an Experienced Accident Attorney

If you’re filing a personal injury claim, consulting with an experienced accident attorney is crucial. Your attorney can help you navigate the legal process, including negotiating with the insurance company.

If any issues arise, your attorney can handle them, allowing you to focus on what you’re supposed to be doing—recovering from the accident. With professional legal support, you can be confident that your case is in capable hands, ensuring you receive the compensation you deserve.

Greg Van Alst Returns to Berlin Raceway Looking to Close Points Gap

MARNE, Michigan: ARCA Menards Series veteran Greg Van Alst escaped the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course last weekend with a top-10 finish.

This weekend, the Anderson, Ind. native treks to Berlin (Mich.) Raceway eyeing a top-five finish for his team in Saturday night’s Berlin ARCA 200.

It’s been two years since Van Alst last graced the tight short nestled in the small city of Marne, Michigan, just outside Grand Rapids. On that memorable June night, Van Alst showcased his prowess with a commendable eighth-place finish, a testament to his team’s relentless pursuit of the ARCA Menards Series championship at the time.

More than 24 months later, Van Alst returns to the iconic short track, his determination burning brighter than ever. He is ready to do whatever it takes to inch closer to that championship lead and deliver his second career ARCA Menards Series victory, making the upcoming race at Berlin Raceway a potentially pivotal moment in his season.

“I feel really good heading to Berlin after our positive finish last weekend at Mid-Ohio,” said Van Alst, his voice filled with gratitude towards his team. “I am not a road course racer by any means, but the relentless hard work by my team allowed me to drive the hardest towards the end of the race and bring us our third top-10 finish of the season.

“We’ve dusted off, and now we’ll go back to Berlin – a track where I felt we were OK in 2022- and see what we deliver. Short tracks are a big opportunity for us to earn top-five finishes.”

With five career top-five ARCA finishes, most recently on a short track at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway last September, the former ARCA | CRA Series champion knows that delivering his team their second top-five effort of the season will not only reward the team with much-needed points but also give his family-owned team a nice boost.

“Other than Iowa, it’s been a pretty decent season for us,” explained Van Alst. “If we aren’t inside the top-10, we’re right there just outside the top-10 inside the top-15. That’s good, but not great.

“That being said, there’s still a lot of racing left, but we’re trying to chase an ARCA championship on a shoestring budget with a lot of heart and determination – so to be second in the championship standings is a great achievement for our team.

“Over the next month, it will be hard to close the gap because Andres (Pérez de Lara) is so good, but we feel that with our short-track program, we can compete with Rev Racing and the other powerhouse ARCA team and keep us in the hunt.”

With one of his 22 top-10 ARCA finishes delivered at Berlin Raceway, Van Alst says he believes his Anderson, Ind.-based team can return to the track and be better than they were in 2022.

“Berlin is a very unique short track,” explained Van Alst. “You feel like you are always turning. There’s little time to relax. The backstretch doesn’t have a wall and provides a little extra room for racing if needed, but it’s just hitting the balance right, especially for later in a run.

“We had a good setup – but what we learned a couple of years ago, we can apply more notes to our setup and I think we can inch closer to the top-five and keep ourselves there for 200 laps.”

This weekend, the family-owned team welcomes back CB Fabricating as the primary partner of the team’s No. 35 Ford Fusion for 200 laps of action.

Headquartered in Anderson, Ind., CB Fabricating offers a complete list of fabricating from design, laser cutting, CNC punching, forming, welding, powder coating and assembly.

In addition to CB Fabricating, Zaki Ali (Injury & Criminal Trial Attorney; 1-888-649-1-ALI) and Top Choice Fence will serve as associate partners for Van Alst’s 47th career ARCA start.

“We have the same great partners like Chris Barkdull and CB Fabricating that keep us going,” added Van Alst. Without the support of CB, Zaki Ali, and Top Choice Fence, who have also been around for all eight

races this year, our second trip to Berlin might not have been possible.

“We’re still focused on completing the season. We could always use more support, but I know that running well and cutting our points deficit presents the opportunity to bring in new partners as the series approaches the halfway point of the year.

“We will keep digging and go to every race with our best intentions and hope that we’re able to deliver the results we are looking for.”

With eight races complete, Van Alst remains second in the ARCA Menards Series championship standings, 37 points behind championship leader Andrés Pérez de Lara, with 11 races remaining this year.

Since 2002, Van Alst has 46 ARCA Menards Series starts to his credit, one win, five top-five and 22 top-10 finishes.

The Berlin ARCA 200 (200 laps | 88 miles) is the ninth of 20 races on the 2024 ARCA Menards Series schedule. Practice begins Saturday, June 29th, from 4:35 p.m. to 5:20 p.m. General Tire pole qualifying in a timed session will begin a short time later at 6:00 p.m. The race is set to take the green flag later in the day shortly after 8:00 p.m. ET.
