No. 2 Rheem Chevrolet Silverado
NASCAR Truck Series Race 5 of 25 – Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway
CALE GALE BEHIND THE WHEEL: The NASCAR Camping WorldTruck Series roars back to life this weekend at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway for the Bully Hill Vineyards 200. The No. 2 Rheem Chevrolet Silverado, fielded by Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI), will be back on-track with Cale Gale behind the wheel. Gale has yet to make at Truck Series start at the superspeedway, but that doesn’t mean he’s a rookie to the track.
Over the last five years, Gale has gathered six career starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at the 1.33-mile facility. The young driver posted his best finish during the March 2008 race, taking the checkered flag in the eighth position. It has been more than two years since Gale has competed at the concrete track in Music City, U.S.A.
TRUCK SERIES SUCCESS: The KHI team is no stranger to Truck Series success at the superspeedway. KHI has participated in 12 events at Nashville and has led 146 laps at the track.
In August 2009, four-time Truck Series Champion, Ron Hornaday gave KHI its first and only win at the track driving the No. 33 Chevrolet Silverado. Over the last seven years KHI drivers have collected a total of six top-five and nine top-10 finishes.
HIP-HIP HOORAY: The Truck Series could not succeed without the continued support from the broadcast channel SPEED. This weekend SPEED will celebrate the 200th truck race broadcast. Since being involved in the Truck Series starting in 2001, KHI attributes much success based on the continual coverage and support from the SPEED organization. Thank you, SPEED for all of your hard work and helping make the Truck Series.
CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 2 KHI team will utilize chassis No. 042 this weekend at Nashville Superspeedway. This chassis previously competed at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway in the Too Tough To Tame 200 on March 12. Elliott Sadler piloted the KHI entry to a seventh-place finish in the event.
PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Kevin Harvick piloted the No. 2 KHI Chevrolet Silverado to a fourth-place finish during the Kroger 250 at the famed Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. The KHI co-owner qualified in the third position for the 250-lap event and overcame a two-lap deficit to post the top-five finish.
THOUGHTS ON NASHVILLE:
How will your Nashville Nationwide Series experience play into the Truck race?
“I’ve raced at Nashville quite a few times. Seeing as I haven’t raced in the Truck Series in over two years, it makes me feel very comfortable knowing that I’m going back to a track where I’ve got a lot of experience.”
What is your favorite aspect of racing at Nashville Superspeedway?
“It’s just a fun track. The concrete surface gives you a lot of grip, but the best part of the 1.33-mile track is that it has some of the same feel of a short track.”
