EARLY INCIDENT LEADS TO A LONG NIGHT FOR WHITE AND JDM AT LUCAS OIL RACEWAY

Race: AAA Insurance 200

Location: Lucas Oil Raceway

Starting Position: 14th

Finishing Position: 26th

Owner Points Position: 19th

Huntersville, N.C. (7-30-11) – Jason White was off to a strong start in Friday night’s AAA Insurance 200 at Lucas Oil Raceway (LOR), but heavy damage sustained on a lap-one incident handicapped the No. 23 machine, relegating Jason White and Joe Denette Motorsports to a 26th-place finish in what may be the 17th and final NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) event at the famed 0.686-mile short track in Indianapolis.

Starting 14th, White’s track-best start at LOR, the veteran driver was confident going into Friday night’s 200-lap event. However, contact from the No. 20 machine in turn one, on lap one resulted in a three-car pile-up, leaving the No. 23 machine with heavy damage to the left rear quarter panel and splitter.

Limping around the track, White took every opportunity to make his way down pit road to repair the damage. As the race continued under record-setting-green-flag conditions, White struggled with the handling of his aerodynamically-challenged Chevrolet. Despite his best efforts, White held on to a 26th-place finish, six laps down to race winner, Timothy Peters.

Jason White Quotes:

“It was an unfortunate night for this entire GunBroker.com team. We spent the entire morning getting this machine dialed-in, fighting a loose condition. We were decent in first practice, made some changes in the second that didn’t help us and went back to the set-up we had in it during the first practice for qualifying. I was still a little loose in qualifying, but it was a solid effort. I knew we had something for them in the race.”

“I was on the high side going into one and the No. 20, on the bottom, got into my left side quarter panel and spun us. We suffered heavy damage on both the left rear and on the splitter. It ruined our night. It was just way too early in the night to be racing for the win. We had a good GunBroker.com Chevrolet and didn’t get a chance to show it.”
