Texas Recap: Kimball finished 23rd at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). The finish came in his 24th careerIndyCar Series start and his third start at TMS. The Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing team started the race from the 16th position. After holding the spot for a total of eight laps, Kimball would battle for position on the 1.5-mile oval before an early on-track incident would cause him to retire from the race on lap 29 of the 228-lap race. Within the first 30 laps, the No. 83 FlexPen Honda made a half-spin, and took Kimball into the SAFER Barrier off of turn four resulting in contact with the car’s left-side.

Living in the Fast Lane with Diabetes: Follow Kimball’s live blog at www.CharlieKimball.com for race weekend schedules, post-practice thoughts, race day preparations, and behind-the-scenes photos.

Kimball Behind-the-Scenes: Kimball and the Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing crew is featured in a 60-second national television spot, which began running during the week of February 27 and will continue to air for several months. In addition, Novo Nordisk will be running videos about NovoLog FlexPen featuring Kimball and the NNCGR team at track-side events throughout the season.

Welcome to the Team: Novo Nordisk, recently expanded its motorsports initiatives to include an official partnership with INDYCAR as the official diabetes care sponsor of the IZOD IndyCar Series. Novo Nordisk entered the sport in 2009 as the primary sponsor of Kimball in Firestone Indy Lights and advanced to the IZOD IndyCar Series with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2011, where Kimball became the first licensed INDYCAR driver with diabetes to finish the Indianapolis 500.

In the Points: Following Texas, Kimball moves from 11th position to 14th in the IZOD IndyCar Series point standings with 132 markers, -124 points behind the leader.

A Perfect 10: Kimball has top-10 finishes in four of the seven IZOD IndyCar Series races this season, which already doubles his previously tally of two top-10 results in 2011.

Career at Milwaukee: Kimball scored a top-10 finish inFirestone Indy Lights at the Milwaukee Mile during his first attempt on the one-mile track in 2009. In his first IndyCar attempt at the track in 2011, Kimball would start 21st and finish 14th.

Kimball on Milwaukee: “I love the challenge that the Milwaukee Mile presents to IndyCar teams and drivers. Without a lot of banking, there’s not a lot of room for error. It creates some of the best racing all season. Passing is always challenging and the racing is so intense, which makes it fun for us on track. The Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing team will be working hard this weekend to add to our top-10 finishes and gain back some championship points.”
