Nelson Piquet Jr. on returning to Chicagoland Speedway

“My Chicagoland Speedway race was one of my best finishes of the 2011 season. The intermediate tracks seem to be a good fit for me. I didn’t get the result I wanted last weekend at Iowa Speedway, so I’m ready to get back on the track as quickly as possible. I know we have a good truck this weekend, and yet again I’m just trying to get my team the finish they deserve for all of their hard work.”

James Buescher on driving at Chicagoland Speedway

“Chicagoland Speedway has proven to be one of the best tracks on the circuit. You can run side-by-side all the way around the track, which is awesome for the fans. I am really excited to be racing for Fresh from Florida this weekend. Both my NCWTS and Nationwide Series car will have them as the sponsor, and I am confident we can have a strong showing on both Saturday and Sunday. We are bringing the same truck that won the race at Kentucky Speedway a couple of weeks ago and we are hoping for the same result on Saturday night.”

July 21, 2012

No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components Chevrolet News and Notes My Kind of Town…The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) blows into the Windy City for a Saturday night race under the lights at Chicagoland Speedway. Paludo has one previous start at the 1.5-mile oval, where he started ninth and finished eighth in the 2011 event. Paludo has competed in 17 NCWTS races at tracks 1.5-miles long, earning five top-10 finishes at tracks of that length. In the Middle…Turner Motorsports as a whole boasts strong finishes at NASCAR’s intermediate tracks. The NCWTS has visited six tracks between one and two miles in length so far in 2012, (Rockingham Speedway, 1.017-miles; Kansas Speedway, 1.5-miles; Charlotte Motor Speedway, 1.5-miles; Dover International Speedway, 1.0-mile; Texas Motor Speedway, 1.5-miles; and Kentucky Speedway, 1.5-miles.) and Turner Motorsports has brought home the trophy in half of them. Kasey Kahne went to victory lane in the team’s first ever NCWTS win at Rockingham, and James Buescher captured the checkered flag in a pair of wins at Kansas Speedway and Kentucky Speedway. This Week’s Silverado…Paludo and the No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components team will unload chassis TMS-216 for this weekend’s race at Chicagoland Speedway. This chassis made its debut at Kentucky Speedway last month where Paludo drove it to a fifth-place starting spot and a 12th-place finish. Diabetes Fact of the Week…Tobacco is harmful to health and is of particular danger to people with diabetes. Smoking increases your risk of various diabetes complications, including heart attack, stroke, nerve damage and kidney disease. In fact, smokers who have diabetes are three times more likely to die of cardiovascular disease than are nonsmokers who have diabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association. Smoking cessation has immediate positive effects. Talk to your doctor if you’d like help to quit smoking or using other tobacco products. Previous Race Recap…Paludo battled a tight-handling truck and frustrating restarts in the first of two 2012 events at Iowa Speedway, scoring a 13th-place finish in the American Ethanol 200. The result was his seventh-consecutive top-15 finish of the season, which allowed him to maintain his top-10 status in the NCWTS point standings. Miguel Paludo on driving at Chicagoland Speedway

“I think the thing I’m most excited about when it comes to Chicagoland is that we’re going racing back-to-back weekends for only the second time this year. Momentum is so important in this sport, so when you’re not racing every week, it’s a challenge. As far as the track itself, I really like the intermediate tracks and I run well at them. Turner Motorsports has already won two Truck Series races at mile-and-a-half tracks this season, so I’m very confident in our program and our ability to get to victory lane.”
