This Week’s Hefty® Reynolds Wrap® Camry … Crew Chief Wes Ward has chosen chassis No. 12 out of the TriStar Motorsports stable for this weekend’s running of the STP 300 at Chicagoland Speedway. This chassis was last run by Mike Bliss and the No. 44 team at Dover Int’l Speedway. It posted a 33rd-place finish after an electrical issue forced an early departure from the event.
Chicagoland Fast Facts …This weekend will mark Eric McClure’s 184th career NNS start and his seventh at Chicagoland Speedway, the home track of Reynolds Consumer Products. In six starts, the Virginia driver has completed 87.2% of the total laps and has an average finish of 29.3. McClure’s best finish at the 1.5-mile D-shaped tri-oval came just one year ago where he posted an 18th-place finish.
Improving Average Finish of Season…Since his accident at Talladega Superspeedway in May, the 33-year-old driver has improved his average finishing position by 4.5 positions. In the four races since his return, McClure has posted three top-25 finishes and has an average finishing position of 21.75.
Personal Appearances: McClure will be making two appearances leading up to Sunday’s STP300 at Chicagoland Speedway. The first is located at Jewel 3124 (1537 N Larkin Ave, Joliet, IL) from 2:00pm – 3:00pm on Thursday, July 19. The second one, also on Thursday, July 19, is for Chicagoland Speedway’s season ticket holders and it will be from 5:30pm – 6:30pm on pit road. There the driver will do a Q&A session with the fans and will sign autographs.
