JASON BOWLES READY FOR INAUGURAL NASCAR NATIONWIDE SERIES RACE AT THE BRICKYARD THIS SATURDAY

(MOORESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA) July 24, 2012 – This weekend will mark the first time that the NASCAR Nationwide Series has ran on the most famous race track in the world. Jason Bowles and his American Majority No. 81 Toyota team will head north to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the inaugural race for the series on the legendary 2.5 mile oval. The excitement in the shop is building and everyone is looking forward to the Indy 250 this Saturday afternoon at 4PM EST.

Jason on Indianapolis…..“This weekend is one of the few that I circled on my calendar when the season started,” says Bowles. “With all of the history there and the great drivers that have raced and won there, I will probably have some goose bumps pulling out of the pits for the first time during practice. I started my career hoping to race there in an Indycar someday. Now seeing how that dream is over, I’m really glad I’m still going to be able to race there.”

Jason’s Favorite Indy 500 Memory…..“I think my best memory is seeing Buddy Rice win in 2004. He is a personal friend of mine and we grew up racing go-karts together so seeing him win was pretty awesome.”

Get Great Wings in the Indy area…..Wings Etc. is a family-friendly Restaurant & Pub, with a diverse menu featuring our Award-Winning Jumbo Buffalo Wings, Wood-Smoked Babyback Ribs, Cold Beer, great atmosphere, and that good-old-fashioned “vibe” that makes you want to come in and just hang out. As a sports-themed pub, they offer multiple, visible-from-everywhere flat-screen TVs, great sports packages on satellite television, and they always have our sets tuned to the best sports programming available. Wings Etc. has kid-friendly, arcade-quality video games, Daily Drink Specials, Daily Lunch Specials, and much more. Come out and see them at one of their over 20 locations across Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana.

Chicagoland recap…..Qualifying turned out to be the highlight of the weekend in Chicagoland last week. After struggling in practice with a loose racecar, Jason qualified the American Majority No. 81 Toyota into 17th on the grid. The car went the other way come race time, and was way too tight for Bowles. The team kept fighting however and were still able to bring home a respectable 23rd place finish.

New Segment – Employee Spotlight on John Monsam…..MacDonald Motorsports crew chief John Monsam has a long and storied history working in the sport. John began his career working with Reggie Ruggiero in the NASCAR Whelen Modified tour. Winning countless races there, John moved south to North Carolina in pursuit of a career in NASCAR. In recent years, Monsam has worked as a crew chief for the Wood Brothers, Kevin Harvick Inc., Roush Racing, and DEI. John has an enormous amount of knowledge in racing and his experience and leadership is a big part of the reason the American Majority No. 81 has been running so well of late.

Watch the race…..Fans can watch Jason race the inaugural Indy 250 this Saturday, July 28th. The race will go on the air live on ESPN at 4PM EST.
