Nelson Piquet Jr. on returning to Pocono Raceway

“I feel at home when I come to Pocono. Everyone is so welcoming and there are some diehard race fans in Pennsylvania. After a weekend off, I’m always more than ready to get back to the racetrack. I’m even more excited this time to see how the track has changed since it’s been repaved. I’m sure it will feel like I’m driving on a brand-new track. No. 31 Koike Aronson Chevrolet News and Notes

This Week’s Silverado… The No. 31 Koike Aronson Chevrolet Silverado team will bring chassis TMS-214 to the “Tricky Triangle” for Saturday’s 50-lap race. TMS-214 last saw racing action two weeks ago at Chicagoland Speedway where Buescher wheeled it into victory lane. TMS-214 has three victories so far in 2012 (Kansas Speedway, Kentucky Speedway, and Chicagoland Speedway).

Welcome Back… Turner Motorsports welcomes back Koike Aronson Ransome to the No. 31 truck for Saturday’s race at Pocono Raceway. Koike Aronson Ransome designs and manufactures one of the world’s broadest lines of welding positioners and thermal cutting products, as well as supplying portable and gas apparatus equipment. The company’s history goes back to 1946 when Chuck Aronson founded the Aronson Machine Company, a welding positioner manufacturer at which he invented and patented positioners that are still used today. In 1985, Koike Sanso Kogyo (est. 1918) of Tokyo, Japan acquired Aronson Machine Company to add a world-class welding positioner line to their well-regarded cutting machine line. The result was a single company that supplied the market with the best welding positioners and thermal cutting products in the world. Then in 2001, Koike Aronson, Inc. purchased a large competitor, Ransome Company, based in Houston, TX. The acquisition allowed Koike Aronson to offer the most durable, safest and largest variety of positioning equipment ever. Today the company is known as Koike Aronson, Inc. For more information you can visit their web site at www.koike.com.

Doing Work… James Buescher will visit the international headquarters of Koike Aronson, Inc.in Buffalo, N.Y. on Thursday, August 2nd. The racecar driver will spend time at the facility meeting employees and signing autographs before heading to the Pocono Mountains.

What a Comeback… James Buescher and the No. 31 Turner Motorsports team captured their third win of the 2012 season in dramatic fashion two weeks ago at Chicagoland Speedway. Buescher battled back from being two laps down to capture the victory. With the win, the 22-year-old driver now sits only 35 points back in the season-long championship fight.

James Buescher on driving at Pocono Raceway

“Pocono Raceway is a very unique track. Each corner is very different, which makes it challenging for the drivers and crews. You have to give up a little at one end in order to really get your truck to turn on the other. We are bringing our best truck this weekend and are hoping to continue to build momentum as we continue to battle for the championship.”

No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components Chevrolet News and Notes

It’s Tricky…The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) heads for the hills for the Pocono Mountains 125 at Pocono Raceway where Miguel Paludo will make his 40th NCWTS start. Paludo has one start at the 2.5-mile Tricky Triangle, finishing 19th after receiving rear-end damage and battling a tight-handling truck throughout the rainy event in 2011.

On A Roll…Turner Motorsports teammate James Buescher rallied from two laps down at Chicagoland Speedway to bring the team its fourth NCWTS win of the season. With four wins in the opening 10 races, Turner has captured the checkered flag in 40% of the events so far in 2012.

Meet and Greet…Paludo will be participating in the NCWTS autograph session at Pocono Raceway. The autograph session will be held on Friday, August 3rd from 1:00-2:00 p.m. ET following the conclusion of the series’ final practice session. The autograph session will be held in the midway of the Fan Fair area.

This Week’s Silverado…Paludo and the No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components team will unload chassis TMS-216 for this weekend’s race at Pocono Raceway. This is the same chassis that Paludo got behind the wheel of in the most recent NCWTS race at Chicagoland Speedway. Paludo led five laps and ran at the front of the field for a majority of the day before blowing a right-front tire, resulting in a 17th-place finish.

Diabetes Fact of the Week…Don’t forget, Frontstretch.com writer and NCWTS supporter Beth Lunkenheimer is participating in the American Diabetes Association’s Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes and she needs your help. Lunkenheimer has chosen to walk for Paludo and his son Oliver, and has set a goal of raising $1,000 for the ADA. If you wish to find out more or make a donation, please visit: http://stepout.diabetes.org then click the Donate button and search for Beth Lunkenheimer under participants.

Previous Race Recap… Paludo and the No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components team overcame a multitude of issues in Chicagoland, bouncing back from early contact with the wall to become one of the fastest trucks on the racetrack for much of the event. However, after leading five laps and proving that the No. 32 team was a force to be reckoned with, a blown tire in the closing laps thwarted the team’s valiant effort, relegating Paludo to a 17th-place finish.

Miguel Paludo on driving at Pocono Raceway

“I’m really looking forward to heading to Pocono with the truck we ran at Chicagoland. We’ve run that truck a few times, but last weekend we tried a new rear-end housing and it gave me a much better feel for what I was looking for. We’ll continue using the rear-end housing that we put in last week and that should help us a lot. Pocono has a very long straightaway and it’s very easy to lose five to ten positions if you lose your momentum at all. When you come out of turn one, the tunnel turn is almost right there and you have to hit it just right so you don’t lose momentum leaving it and heading to the big straightaway.”
