This Week’s Zaxby’s Toyota Tundra … John Wes Townley will pilot RAB Racing Chassis No. 47 in Saturday’s American Ethanol 200 at Iowa Speedway. This is the same Zaxby’s Tundra that Townley raced to a 20th-place finish at Rockingham Speedway in April.
Townley at Iowa … In his only previous NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Iowa Speedway, Townley and his RAB Racing team were able to overcome a pre-race setback that saw them go to their backup Toyota Tundra due to a practice crash to record a 20th-place finish in July’s American Ethanol 200.
Are You Experienced? … In addition to his previous Camping World Truck Series start at Iowa Speedway, Townley has made a combined three starts in ARCA and Nationwide Series races at the .875-mile oval, posting a track-best finish of 12th in 2008’s ARCA Prairie Meadows 250.
RAB Racing at Iowa… In addition to fielding an entry in July’s Camping World Truck Series event RAB Racing has competed in every Nationwide Series event at the .875-mile speedway dating back to the inaugural race in 2009. The team’s best showing at the Newton-based track is a sixth-place finish, which was posted by Wallace in 2011’s running of the John Deere Dealers 250.
After 14 Races… Over the first 14 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races of the 2012 season, Townley has accumulated one top-10 finish, eight top-20 finishes, an average starting position of 20.3 and an average finishing position of 20th . Townley has completed 88.3 percent of the laps he’s contested (1,809 of 2,049) thus far.
Get to the Points … Though Townley and RAB Racing didn’t get the result they hoped for two weeks ago at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the finish allowed Townley to hold steady, at 18th, in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series point standings.
Your Point Is… As we head into the 15th race of the 2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season, RAB Racing currently occupies the 18th position in the owner’s points standings.
