This Week’s Zaxby’s Toyota Tundra … John Wes Townley will pilot RAB Racing Chassis No. 54 in Friday night’s Kentucky 201 at Kentucky Speedway. This chassis last saw action at Atlanta Motor Speedway, where the 22-year-old driver brought home a 19th-place finish.
Townley at Kentucky … In two previous Camping World Truck Series starts at Kentucky Speedway, Townley has a 21st-place result to call his best. In his only NASCAR Nationwide Series start at the Sparta track, Townley finished 32nd in the 2009 running of the Meijer 300. Additionally, Townley has competed in two ARCA Series races at Kentucky Speedway, posting his track-best finish of fifth in May of 2008.
RAB at Kentucky… In addition to their NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at the Sparta, Ky. track earlier this year, RAB Racing has competed in three Nationwide Series events dating back to 2009. In addition to Townley’s 2009 start, RAB Racing with Brack Maggard fielded two additional Nationwide Series entries here since 2009, with drivers Sean Caisse and Kenny Wallace, respectively. The team’s best showing at the Sparta tri-oval is a sixth-place finish, which was posted by Wallace in 2011’s running of the Feed the Children 300.
After 15 Races… Over the first 15 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races of the 2012 season, Townley has accumulated one top-10 finish, nine top-20 finishes, an average starting position of 20th and an average finishing position of 19.6. Townley has completed 89.3 percent of the laps he’s contested (2,008 of 2,249) thus far.
RAB Racing in 2012… With 15 races completed in the 2012 season, RAB Racing’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series entries have recorded one top-five, two top-10 and ten top-20 finishes with drivers Travis Kvapil and Townley.
Get to the Points … Townley’s 15th-place finish at Iowa Speedway last weekend allowed him to advance one position, to 17th, in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series point standings.
