Stenhouse Jr. To Drive No. 6 Best Buy Ford in Sprint Cup Race at Charlotte

Best Buy to Sponsor No. 6 and No. 17 RFR Fords at CMS

CONCORD, N.C. (Oct. 4, 2012) – Roush Fenway Racing’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will pilot the No. 6 Best Buy Ford in the October 13th Sprint Cup event at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Stenhouse, along with RFR teammate Matt Kenseth, will form a formidable pair of Best Buy Fords, with Kenseth’s No. 17 Fusion also featuring the Best Buy blue and yellow for the event.

It will mark the first time that Best Buy has sponsored two cars in a single race, with race fans treated to both the present and the future of the sport with the unique ‘one-two punch’ of Roush Fenway’s first Sprint Cup Champion in Kenseth and its latest NASCAR Champion in the youthful Stenhouse.

“We are really excited to have Best Buy on board for next season,” said Stenhouse. “It’s awesome that we are getting a head start on that relationship this season and I can’t wait to have them ride along on the No. 6 car at Charlotte.”

“It’s pretty fitting that I made my first Sprint Cup start at Charlotte last season and now I’ll be making my first start with Best Buy on the car at Charlotte this season. Hopefully we’ll have another strong run and build on some momentum to take into next season when we go full-time in the Sprint Cup Series.”

The race will be Stenhouse’s third Sprint Cup event of the season and his fourth career Cup start. He made his debut at Charlotte in the 2011 Coca-Cola 600, and caught the attention of the sport’s upper echelon with a strong 11th-place finish. The 2011 Nationwide Series Champion will make the move to full-time Sprint Cup in 2013, where he will again team with Best Buy, taking the reins of Roush Fenway’s historic No. 17.

Roush Fenway Racing is the winningest team in NASCAR history, fielding multiple teams in the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series with championship drivers Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Trevor Bayne. Celebrating 25 winning years in 2012, Roush Fenway is the leader in NASCAR marketing solutions, pioneering motorsport’s first team-focused TV program and its award-winning social marketing campaign RickyvsTrevor.com.
