Texas Motor Speedway Advance | WinStar World Casino 350

Chassis Debut at Texas: Building up momentum for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship battle at his hometown track last weekend, Timothy Peters continues his drive for the title at Texas Motor Speedway this Friday for the WinStar World Casino 350. Peters will be debuting Red Horse Racing chassis 007 at Texas; one of the new-era RHR Toyota Tundra chassis built entirely by team fabricators at Red Horse Racing. After qualifying on the outside pole for the spring race at the 1.5-mile oval, Peters and crew chief Butch Hylton plan to bring a similar setup for this brand new Toyota Tundra to continue their recent speed and success.

“Our intermediate program has been improving each race this year, and it’s always fun to bring a brand new chassis to the track and show off how hard these Red Horse Racing employees work every week,” Peters claimed. “I know we’re going to have a fast Toyota Tundra and Joe Gibbs Racing engines to power to help us go for the win.”

Tundras in Texas: Prior to the weekend’s events, all three Red Horse Racing drivers and owner Tom DeLoach will visit Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas in San Antonio, Texas, for a visit with Toyota officials and team members on Wednesday, October 31. They will tour the facility to meet TMMTX team members, as well as see how production Tundras are assembled. The drivers will also take assembled Tundras to the TMMTX test track.

Arthritis Foundation On Board: All three Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundras will carry a special logo for the Arthritis Foundation at Texas Motor Speedway to help promote the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis. The Arthritis Foundation in the Texas Region will hold its Jingle Bell Run/Walk in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area surrounding the track on December 8, 2012. Arthritis affects one in every five adults and 300,000 children, and is the nation’s leading cause of disability. For more information, visit Arthritis.org.

Previous Race Recap: Returning to his home track for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway, Timothy Peters showed his strength at the .526- mile short track early in the weekend. Peters backed up the fast, consistent laps he produced in both practice sessions by claiming the pole position in qualifying and set a blistering pace from the start of the 200 lap main event. By dodging all of the typical short track trouble all afternoon, Peters held his ground in the championship battle with a seventh place finish.

Chassis History: The Red Horse Racing fabricators and No. 17 crew have prepared a brand new Red Horse Racing chassis, number 007, for this weekend’s events at Texas Motor Speedway. Built from the ground up at Red Horse Racing, this Toyota Tundra was designed specifically to excel at intermediate race tracks similar to Texas.

What are your thoughts heading into Texas?

“I like Texas. We’re taking a brand new Tundra so that’s even more encouraging. We ran really well there in the fall last year so we’re going back just like that, except with a new chassis. It’s always cool when you take a new truck to the track and show off all the hard work the Red Horse Racing team has put into building these Tundras. We’ve got three races to go out and gather as many points as we can and try to pull this thing off.”

The fall race is shorter than the spring; does that change your strategy at all?

“The truck will drive different than it did in June because it’s going to be much cooler this time around. We took what could have been a bad day and turned it into a decent day in the spring, which was good for us in the big picture. But as far as driving goes, you don’t really change it up much. There are characteristics that you know about turns one and two versus three and four, but you just try to keep a good balance on it during the day because it makes drastic changes at night time.”

About Red Horse Racing: Founded in 2005 by former Mobil Corporation executive Tom DeLoach and NASCAR veteran Jeff Hammond, Red Horse Racing aims to be a professional racing team that strives for excellence on and off the race track. Red Horse Racing hopes to build and maintain solid, mutual relationships with its partners to win races and championships and to represent itself in a professional manner.
