South Beach Stats… Originally a rectangular oval similar to Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway has been reconfigured twice, most recently in 2003, to encourage better competition with a variably-banked, continuous-turn layout. Hornaday has led 126 laps at the speedway en route to one win (November 2008) as well as four top-five and 10 top-10 finishes in 12 starts at the Homestead, Florida track. Hornaday boasts an average start of 12.5 coupled with an average finish of 6.9 and has completed 100 percent of laps attempted (1739 of 1739).

Get to the Point… Following a22nd-place finish in the last NCWTS event, the Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway, Hornaday remained 13th in the 2012 NCWTS driver point standings.

“I know it’s all about the championship contenders this weekend, but for me, my season isn’t over just because I’m not contending for a title. It’s been a tough year to say the least, but we still have a lot to prove in the final race of the season at Homestead. We are in the process of getting plans ironed out for next year and it would be rewarding to go out on top, to give Joe and all the employees at JDM something they have struggled to find in the last two seasons, a win.”
