Allgaier’s Comeback Tour: The Final Chapter – After making up nine points on fifth place two weeks ago in Texas, Justin Allgaier and the BRANDT team unfortunately took a step away from their goal in Phoenix with an 11th-place finish, setting them back seven markers. Now, it’s down to the season-ending race for Allgaier and crew to make up the deficit, and cement themselves as a top-five finisher in the NASCAR Nationwide Series point standings. In the situation of a tie at the conclusion of the 200-lap event at Homestead-Miami, Allgaier would be credited with the fifth-place finish due to his win in Montreal earlier in the season.

Allgaier at Homestead – Allgaier has made four starts at the 1.5-mile Homestead-Miami Speedway, scoring two top-15 finishes. He has an average starting spot of 17.2 coupled with an average finish of 18.0 with one lap led. Allgaier’s best finish of 11th came back in the season finale of 2010.

Welcome Back WinField – The BRANDT team welcomes back WinField for the second time this season, having made their debut on the hood of the No. 31 Chevy at Texas Motor Speedway two weekends ago. The Minnesota-based company offers top-performing seed and crop protection products. With unmatched agricultural expertise and performance as core company values, WinField brands match leading seed and crop protection products to help growers, dealers and other industry partners achieve the highest level of success. Their brands include CROPLAN® seed, WinField™ crop protection products, plant nutrients and other proprietary products.

Good Luck to Turner Motorsports’ James Buescher – On Friday night, James Buescher has the chance to make history for Turner Motorsports by winning the team’s first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship. Currently, Buescher leads second place by 11 points going into the season finale on Friday night. Buescher guarantees himself the championship, as well as the Owner’s Championship with a finish of seventh or better with no laps led, eighth or better with one lap led, or ninth or better with the most laps led.

BRANDT Aiding Victims of Sandy – Last week, BRANDT kicked off their Red Cross Campaign to help victims of superstorm Sandy which devastated areas up and down the eastern seaboard. BRANDT employees hope to raise at least $10,000 before the Thanksgiving holiday as the company bands together to help those in need.

This Week’s Impala – This weekend, Allgaier will drive TMS-327 in the season finale Ford EcoBoost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. No. 327 is a mile-and-a-half favorite for the BRANDT/WinField team, having been used previously at both Kentucky I (fifth) and Kentucky II (eighth), as well as Charlotte I (eighth), Atlanta (fifth) and Kansas (seventh).

Allgaier on entering the final race weekend of 2012:

“I’m obviously excited about the final race of the season and the opportunity we have in front of us as a team. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the year goes by, and it seems to get faster every season. We would love nothing more than to end 2012 on a high note in the BRANDT camp. We’ve had some ups and downs this season, but it’d be great to be able to gain back those points we need and finish where we’ve spent most of the season, and that’s in the top-five. I’m thrilled to be able to have WinField back on the hood this weekend also. I’d love to put on a good show for all those folks who are coming to the track to celebrate the conclusion of the season with us.”

2012 season comes to a close this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway… The 2012 season wraps this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway (HMS) with Brad Sweet behind the wheel of the No. 38 Great Clips machine. With 16 starts under his belt this year, the rookie has captured two top-10 finishes and only three finishes outside of the top-20. Teammate Kasey Kahne, who competed in 15 events throughout the year, amassed three top-five and nine top-10 finishes, in addition to capturing the pole in the inaugural NASCAR Nationwide Series event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Previous experience at Homestead-Miami Speedway… Sweet has two previous starts at HMS, both in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition. Driving for Stringer Motorsports and carrying the Great Clips colors, Sweet finished 27th in 2009 and 25th in 2010.

This Week’s Impala… The No. 38 team will unload chassis TMS-331 this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This chassis last saw track time at Texas Motor Speedway where Sweet finished 13th. Sweet also drove this chassis at Kentucky Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway, finishing 10th and 15th, respectively. Additionally, Kahne captured the inaugural NNS pole at Indianapolis Motor Speedway earlier this year in this same car.

Good luck to Turner Motorsports’ James Buescher… On Friday night, James Buescher has the chance to make history for Turner Motorsports by winning the team’s first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship. Currently, Buescher leads second place by 11 points going into the season finale on Friday night. Buescher guarantees himself the championship, as well as the Owner’s Championship with a finish of seventh or better with no laps led, eighth or better with one lap led, or ninth or better with the most laps led.

Who’s on the pit box?… Trent Owens, who has led James Buescher and Nelson Piquet Jr. to NNS victories this season, serves as crew chief for the No. 38 Great Clips team with drivers Kahne and Sweet. A former driver himself, Owens is a long-time fixture in the NASCAR garage. Over the years, the Darlington, S.C., native has been successful working with a variety of drivers with different levels of experience and has visited victory lane with both rookies and veterans alike including Buescher, Piquet. Jr., Mark Martin, Dave Blaney and Reed Sorenson.

Kahne and Sweet: a unique combination… Not only are Kahne and Sweet good friends off the track, but the veteran is serving as a mentor to Sweet as he makes the transition from open-wheel competition to stock cars. Sweet was handpicked by Kahne in 2008 to drive for Kasey Kahne Racing (KKR) where he has since experienced tremendous success in the World of Outlaws Series. Sweet will continue to compete on a limited basis for KKR when he is not behind the wheel of the No. 38 Great Clips machine in the NNS. You can expect Kahne to be very involved and present in the NNS garage when Sweet is behind the wheel of the No. 38, as he will closely monitor his progress and offer encouragement.

Kahne brought Great Clips their first win! From 2003-2005, Kahne and his sponsor, Great Clips, Inc., reached momentous milestones, including capturing Kahne’s first Nationwide Series victory in 2003 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. It was also Great Clips’ first win as a primary sponsor. In 2005, Kahne captured his second career win at Texas Motor Speedway before leaving the Nationwide Series to allow more time for his Sprint Cup Series efforts.

12 Years and Counting… Great Clips, Inc. is currently the longest-running sponsor in the NNS and has used the Nationwide Series as their primary marketing platform for the last 11 years. Their sponsorship began in 2000 with Akins Motorsports as they climbed on board to sponsor the team’s No. 38 entry with driver, Christian Elder. Mark Green piloted the No. 38 for one season before general manager, Doug Stringer, hired up-and-coming talent, Kasey Kahne, thereby solidifying Great Clips’ commitment to their NASCAR sponsorship.

Sweet on racing on the 2012 season

“Having the opportunity to drive the Great Clips Chevy this season for Turner Motorsports has been a dream come true for me. It has had its ups and downs, but this is a strong team and they supported me 100% all year. We have made big gains since the beginning of the season and I feel we have improved every week and just keep getting better. I wish the season wasn’t over because I feel like we have so much momentum going, but we will just take that into 2013. I can’t say enough about Great Clips and their support of me. I have met so many great people over this past year and their excitement about their racing program is just amazing. Thanks to all of the executives, franchisees, managers and stylists – it’s truly been a ‘great’ year!”
