Here We Go Again…The 2013 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season kicks off for Miguel Paludo and the Duroline Brakes and Components team in Daytona International Speedway on Friday, February 22. Crew chief Jeff Hensley returns to lead the No. 32 Chevrolet Silverado crew, with Chad Rainey coming on board as truck chief. While much of Paludo’s crew and fleet of Chevy trucks remain the same, one key element is decidedly different: With the addition of Harry Scott Jr. as co-owner, Paludo and his teammates will now race under the Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) banner.

Where History Was Made…The 2012 race at Daytona was one of domination for Paludo and the TSM organization. Paludo made history by becoming the first Brazilian to ever win a pole in one of NASCAR’s top-three series by laying down a lap time of 49.583 seconds (181.514 MPH). With teammate Nelson Piquet Jr. starting second and 2012 NCWTS champion James Buescher starting third, TSM swept the front of the field and set NASCAR’s first all-Brazilian front row. Paludo led 56 laps in the season opener, contributing to 81 of 109 laps led by TSM trucks. Paludo appeared to be the driver to beat until a massive crash took the Brazilian out of the race with 17 laps remaining.

Daytona Data…Paludo has two previous starts at Daytona. In his 2011 debut at the 2.5-mile superspeedway, the 29-year-old earned his first-career top-five finish, taking the checkered flag in fourth. Paludo’s wreck in the 2012 event resulted in a 30th-place finish, but the Brazilian led 140 miles before his night ended.

We Meet Again…Paludo and his TSM teammates James Buescher, Jeb Burton and Ryan Truex will be interacting with the fans all weekend at DIS. The drivers will be appearing at the Team Chevy Stage next to the Team Chevy Racing Display for a Q&A on Thursday, February 21 at 4:00 p.m. ET. The TSM drivers will also be participating in the NCWTS autograph session on race day from 4:00-4:45 p.m. ET in the Sprint FANZONE.

This Week’s Silverado…Paludo and the No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components Silverado team will utilize chassis TSM-212 this weekend at Daytona International Speedway. TSM-212 served as TSM teammate Buescher’s superspeedway backup truck in 2012, but has never taken the green flag in a race.

Watch and Listen…The NextEra Energy Resources 250 can be seen live on Friday, February 22 on SPEED.  Race coverage will begin at 7:00 p.m. ET, and the event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as Sirius XM Radio, channel 90.

Miguel Paludo on driving at Daytona International Speedway

“Daytona is one of my favorite tracks that we go to, and it felt really good to run so well there last year. I love superspeedway racing, and last year’s wreck was a just result of the track and that kind of racing. Qualifying on the pole and leading the most laps showed what a strong team we were, and I believe that we are an even stronger team now in 2013. Daytona is all about patience and teamwork, so if we can avoid trouble and work well with our teammates, I think we definitely have a shot at winning our first race.”
