PAUL MENARD QUOTES:
Menard’s Thoughts on Racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway:
“Going to Las Vegas (Motor Speedway) will give us the first true indication of how the new Gen-6 car is going to react. At all the tests we have done with the new car we’ve seen high speeds. It’s definitely been faster than the old car in race conditions. I think there’s a good possibility we might see a new track record in Vegas. We’re going to the track a day early to test on Thursday, so I really think we are going to learn a lot about how the Schrock/Menards Chevrolet is going to handle. What we gain from the extra day of testing will be crucial to our strategy for the rest of the weekend.”

KEVIN HARVICK QUOTE:
What do you think you’ll learn from the test on Thursday and the race in regard to the Gen-6 car?
“I think the cars are obviously really fast because they have more down force. Everyone’s anticipation of getting to Las Vegas (Motor Speedway) and getting all of the cars on the race track at the same time is pretty high, just for the fact that no one can tell you exactly what’s going on. You really don’t know what will happen until you get into 100 percent race conditions. The test on Thursday, and the race, will at least give us a direction of where we need to go after the weekend so we can work on things. It’s going to be interesting and we’ll see very fast, high speeds.”

Race Rewind 2012 … After spending a majority of the 2012 event from outside of the top 20, Burton and the No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet team bounced back for a 14th-place finish in the Kobalt Tools 400.
JEFF BURTON QUOTE:
What are your thoughts on driving the Gen-6 car at the first 1.5-mile track of the 2013 season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway?
“We’ve had a lot of 2013 test sessions at 1.5-mile tracks. There are going to be a lot of questions at Las Vegas (Motor Speedway) for every team. The new Gen-6 cars are really fast with a lot of grip. Goodyear is building better tires than they have ever built while the cars have more downforce and engines have more power than ever. Add all that up and it means we are going to go really fast. Las Vegas is a rough track and not very smooth anymore. There are just so many challenges and unknowns heading into Las Vegas and that’s what everyone is worried about. You can test all day long, but it isn’t the same as racing. Until everyone brings their best effort to the track, you really don’t know where you stand. We feel like we’ve had good tests, but things tend to be different come race time.”

BRIAN SCOTT QUOTES:
What do you think about Las Vegas Motor Speedway?
“I love Las Vegas [Motor Speedway]; I wish it were one of those tracks we raced at twice. Last year we were fast and were challenging for the lead, but got sucked around and wrecked. I love the track, and I think these Camaros’ will be really fast, all the numbers from last year to this year show that it’s a better car. Phil [Gould, Crew Chief] and this team keep getting better and better with each race. Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a really unforgiving track. The tire combination and the high banked, layout combined with the dusty asphalt makes it a slick, unforgiving track in the hot, Nevada Sun. It’s more slick and slippery than other tracks like Atlanta Motor Speedway, where you can control a pretty loose race car a lot more.”

Event Preview Fact Sheet
This Week’s AdvoCare Chevrolet at Las Vegas Motor Speedway … Austin Dillon will pilot Chassis No. 102 in the Las Vegas 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Winner, Winner … In Dillon’s lone Nationwide Series appearance at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, he posted a seventh-place finish after starting third in the March 2012 edition of the race. AUSTIN DILLON QUOTES:
What do you think about the new NASCAR Nationwide Series Camaro so far?
“So far, I love the Camaro. It looks a lot more like the car I have in my garage and that is the coolest part. The Camaro has a little bit of a different feel out on the race track, but not much. I think the overall balance is a little better. The car we have this year is faster.”
What do you think about Las Vegas Motor Speedway?
“I’ve had a lot of success at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I won there in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series my rookie year, so it’s a track that means a lot to me. I’ve also had some disappointment at Vegas. We wrecked on the first lap in the Truck Series before. I remember we battled a tight-handling condition during the NASCAR Nationwide Series race here last year and finished in the top-10. I think that was one of my first mile-and-a-half races in the Nationwide Series. We’ve learned a lot since then as a team and we are coming to this race with the same car we won both Kentucky races with last year so my goal is a win this weekend.”

“I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel of a (NASCAR) Nationwide Series car for Richard Childress Racing this weekend. To be able to race in front of my hometown crowd makes it even more special. TY DILLON QUOTES:
You have three NASCAR Nationwide Series starts under your belt. What are your thoughts going to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the first time in the Nationwide Series?
“I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of a NASCAR Nationwide Series car. I had a lot of fun racing at Las Vegas (Motor Speedway) last year in the (NASCAR Camping World) Truck Series. It’s a fast track and has a lot of room to pass. I’m honored to be able to represent WESCO for another season. I met some of their vendors last season at the track and hope to do so again throughout the year.”
