Spencer Gallagher Set for NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Debut at Rockingham Speedway

Gallagher Scheduled to Make Seven Starts in 2013 with Gallagher Motorsports and Allegiant Air
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 9, 2013) – Spencer Gallagher will make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) debut this weekend piloting the No. 21 Allegiant Air Chevrolet Silverado in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway.Gallagher Motorsports and Allegiant Air officials announced earlier this year that Gallagher would compete for the 2013 ARCA Racing Series championship after a successful 2012 campaign. To further progress Gallagher’s racing career, team officials have added seven NCWTS starts to the 23-year-old’s busy season, reserving his rookie status for 2014.

Gallagher logged his first NCWTS laps during a test session at Rockingham Speedway on April 5.  The Las Vegas, Nev., native quickly got up to speed, working closely with crew chief Dave Hirsch on the truck’s finite handling. Gallagher made a total of 60 laps at the 1.017-mile oval in preparation for the 200 laps he faces this Sunday.

In addition to this weekend’s scheduled start at Rockingham, Gallagher will drive the No. 21 Allegiant Air Chevrolet Silverado at Kansas Speedway April 20, Iowa Speedway July 13, Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway September 28, Martinsville (Va.) Speedway October 26, Texas Motor Speedway November 1 and Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway November 15.

Spencer Gallagher, Driver of the No. 21 Allegiant Air Chevrolet Silverado:

“This is really an exciting time in my career and I am honored to have the opportunity to make my move into the ranks of NASCAR, especially in the Camping World Truck Series. We (Gallagher Motorsports) had a strong end to our 2012 season in the ARCA Racing Series and planned another run at the title in 2013. The addition of the seven NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races only helps with my overall career objectives to one day race fulltime in NASCAR. I can’t thank Allegiant Air enough for all of their support and I look forward to making their season a memorable one.”

Dave Hirsch, Crew Chief of the No. 21 Allegiant Air Chevrolet Silverado:

“After finalizing our initial plans for the 2013 season with Spencer (Gallagher) and Gallagher Motorsports, we wanted to work on the addition of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series to our schedule. The series provides a great platform to expand upon Spencer’s young career and helps set him up to hopefully make a run at the 2014 Rookie of the Year title. We had a successful test at Rockingham (Speedway) last week and I believe Spencer will fair well in this weekend’s debut.”
