ADVANCE NOTES

·         Pastrana at Richmond International Raceway

o   For the first time this season, Travis Pastrana heads to a track that he has competed at before in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.  Pastrana made two starts at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) last year, including his first overall NNS start last April and his first start for Roush Fenway Racing (RFR), last September.  Pastrana finished 25th and 17th in those races, respectively.

o   Pastrana also has two starts in the K&N Pro Series East at RIR, finishing 33rd in 2011 and 23rd in 2012.

·         The Car

o   Chassis RK-766 returns to the track for the second time this season.  This chassis last raced at Phoenix International Raceway, finishing 28th after sustaining damage early in the 200-lap race.

·         Recapping Texas

o   Pastrana and the No. 60 RFR team headed to Texas Motor Speedway, sporting a new look with a red, white and blue patriotic Ford Mustang.  Pastrana qualified 21st for the 300-mile race under the lights.  He ran in the top-20 for much of the race until a mechanical issue sent him to the garage.  After the No. 60 team replaced the rear gear, Pastrana returned to the track 14 laps down to complete the remainder of the race.  He finished 33rd.

o   Pastrana is now 14th in the NNS point standings.

QUOTE WORTHY

Pastrana on racing at Richmond:

“I’ve raced at Richmond twice in the Nationwide Series before and it’s the first track of the season where I have any experience.  My goals for Richmond will be a lot different than the other races, because I already have the foundation of knowledge that is so crucial in making decisions about car set-up and race strategy.  We were fastest there in practice last year and qualified fifth, so hopefully I can find that speed again this year and combine it with what I learned in the race.”
