ADVANCE NOTES

·       Bayne in Michigan

o   Trevor Bayne has strong qualifying runs at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) and increasingly better finishes.  During his three NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) starts, he qualified second, seventh, and eighth.  He finished fifth during his last run at MIS in June, 2011.

o   Bayne is one of the strongest passers at MIS, averaging 40 quality passes (passing a car running in the top-15 while under green flag).  He’s also one of the fastest drivers late in a run, ranking sixth (last 25% of laps run since a pit stop).

·       The Car

o   Chassis RK-782 first ran on the track at Texas Motor Speedway in April.  After running midway through the pack early in the race, Bayne and the No. 6 team got the chassis tuned in and had one of the fastest cars on the track before an unrelated wreck threw grass onto the grille causing the car to overheat.

·       ROUSH CleanTech

o   For the first time this season, the ROUSH CleanTech paint scheme will be on the No. 6 car.

o   ROUSH CleanTech is a propane autogas company specializing in developing reliable and cost-effective alternative fuel powered products for Ford trucks and vans, school buses and taxis.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bayne on Racing in Michigan:

“I haven’t run a Nationwide car there since they repaved it, but the Sprint Cup cars are unbelievably fast.  While testing the No. 21 Wood Brothers car there a couple weeks ago, there was one groove so hopefully that will widen back out.”
