ADVANCE NOTES

·       Bayne at Road America

o   Trevor Bayne had mixed results in his previous two outings at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. In 2010, Bayne started 20th and drove his way up through the pack to a top-10, finishing 10th.  The next year, driving for Roush Fenway Racing, his car overheated leaving Bayne in 31st place.

·       Bayne’s Success on Road Courses

o   Bayne found success on several road courses, including winning the pole at Gateway Motorsports Park in 2010, then finishing third in the same race.  In 2011, Bayne scored another top-10 by finishing ninth at Watkins Glen.

·       The Car

o   Chassis RK-775 was used by the No. 6 team during both road races in the 2012 Championship season.  At Road America, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. drove RK-775 to an 11th place finish; at Montreal he came in 12th.

o   Valvoline NextGen will return as a sponsor on the No. 6 car at Road America this weekend.  The NextGen paint scheme was also on the car at Phoenix in March.

·       Local Connections

o   The trip to Elkhart Lake will be a homecoming for Pit Supporter Jon Dhein.  Dhein’s hometown of Chilton, WI is a short 30-minute drive north of Road America.
QUOTE WORTHY

Bayne on Racing at Road America:

“I’m excited to get onto the road course at Road America.  It’s always a challenge because you have to set up the car so differently and you have to adjust your driving style, but my team and I went out to Miller Motorsports Park back in May to get some practice on a road course so hopefully we’ll be ready to get out there and keep our momentum going.”
