ADVANCE NOTES
· Pastrana at Daytona
o Travis Pastrana will make his second start at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) this weekend. The NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) season kicked off at Daytona, with Pastrana qualifying fourth and finishing 10th in his first NNS start at the track.
o Pastrana has been strong this season on the restrictor plate tracks. He followed up his 10th place finish at DIS, with a pole at Talladega Superspeedway. The No. 60 Ford Mustang was one of the fastest cars in the field until being collected in an accident.
· The Car
o Chassis RK-720 will make its debut this weekend at Daytona International Speedway.
o In honor of the Fourth of July holiday, the No. 60 Ford Mustang will don the same red, white and blue paint scheme that was used in both Texas and Charlotte earlier this season.
· Recapping Kentucky
o After laying down the fastest lap in final practice and qualifying second, Pastrana ran in the top-six for much of the Feed the Children 300 at Kentucky Speedway before finishing 15th in the rain-shortened race.
o He remains 14th in the NNS point standings.
· Valvoline Stunt Amplifier
o Valvoline, the manufacturer of NextGen™ recycled motor oil, gave fans the opportunity to view a collection of homemade stunt videos, and then vote on ways to make those stunts even more thrilling. This week Pastrana travels to Nitro City, Panama to amplify the selected stunt. Fans should stay tuned to youtube.com/Valvoline to see which stunt is chosen and how it is amplified.
QUOTE WORTHY
Pastrana on racing at Daytona International Speedway:
“Roush Fenway Racing has had the fastest restrictor plate cars so far this year. There is a lot of luck involved with getting a good finish, but if Trevor and I can team up again like we did at Talladega, I think we have a great chance to finish first and second. A win on Fourth of July weekend at Daytona would mean a lot for me, my team and my future in this sport.”
