ADVANCE NOTES

·       Bayne at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

o   This weekend marks Trevor Bayne’s third start at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS); a track he hasn’t raced at in nearly two years.  Bayne has a top-five finish at NHMS in 2010, and a 13th-place finish in 2011.

o   While Bayne hasn’t raced at NHMS in two years, he does have recent track time with the No. 6 team participating in a team test session in late June.

·       The Car

o   Chassis RK-748 was last used in both Phoenix and Richmond this season.  In Phoenix, Bayne earned his first top-five of the season by finishing in fourth place.  In Richmond, Bayne had one of the fastest cars on the track and was running near the front of the pack when officials black-flagged him during a restart, forcing him to the back of the pack and leaving him with a 12th-place finish.

·       Recapping Daytona

o   Roush Fenway Racing made the strategic move to pull Bayne and teammate Travis Pastrana to the back of the pack to protect their cars in case of a crash.  “The Big One” never materialized, leaving Bayne little time to make his run to the front and landing him in 10th-place.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bayne on Racing in Loudon:

“It was great to get up to Loudon a few weeks ago and get a lot of laps at the track.  This car we’re taking to the track was real fast for us in Phoenix and in Richmond even though we didn’t get the finish we wanted there.  So hopefully we can build on that speed and come away with some more consistently strong finishes. There are really only a few points between me and the next few guys in the standings so this is our chance to make some big moves.”
