WATERTOWN, Conn.—August 16, 2013— David Gravel continues to recover from a double ear infection and a bout with mononucleosis and will miss the two scheduled World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series events this weekend at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., and Nodak Speedway in Minot, N.D. Gravel will rejoin the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series when he is cleared by doctors to return to action.

The native of Watertown, Conn., is currently eighth in the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship standings and was victorious on the opening night of the Knoxville National last weekend. Along with his win at Knoxville, he also picked up a victory at I-94 Speedway in Minnesota in May.
