Breast Cancer Awareness at Charlotte

Racing for a cause near and dear to the hearts of all at Tommy Baldwin Racing, both Dave Blaney and JJ Yeley’s Chevrolets will be turned pink this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Dave Blaney will be driving the No. 7 Breast Cancer Awareness Chevrolet for Saturday night’s Bank of America 500. A cause close to the heart of the 7 team, Owner and Crew Chief Tommy Baldwin’s mother is a breast cancer survivor.
JJ Yeley will be behind the wheel of the No. 36 United Mining Equipment/Susan G Komen Chevrolet. Breast cancer has personally touched the Yeley family, his mother-in-law is a survivor of the disease.
To show your support in the fight against breast cancer, please join us this weekend in wearing pink as we honor those who lost their battle, those still fighting and to raise awareness for a cure.
At the track: Join JJ Yeley at the Speedway Children’s Charities track walk on Saturday afternoon at 1:20 pm. Yeley and his family will join fans as they walk around the track supporting local children.
Blaney by the numbers: Blaney currently has 26 starts at the 1.5 mile track, with an average finish of 27.3.
Blaney on Charlotte Motor Speedway: “I am looking forward to getting behind the wheel of my No. 7 Breast Cancer Awareness Chevrolet. I am looking forward to getting out on the track and helping to support NASCAR in their efforts to help raise awareness. I have two daughters of my own, so this weekend is all about them. As far as the team, we are looking forward to finishing out the season with the same momentum as last weekend, fighting hard until the end.”
Yeley by the numbers: JJ Yeley has eleven starts at Charlotte with two top 10 finishes. His average finish is 28.5.
Yeley on Charlotte Motor Speedway : “I am excited to get behind the wheel of my No. 36 United Mining/Susan G Komen Chevrolet this weekend. We have a pretty cool paint scheme, and couldn’t have teamed up with a better organization than Susan G. Komen to help raise awareness about breast cancer. This weekends race I will be supporting not only my mother-in-law Karen, who is a survivor, but my daughter Faith, who I hope one day will live in a world without cancer. I am looking forward to getting out on the track and continuing the push to finish out the rest of the season strong for everyone at Tommy Baldwin Racing.”

About Tommy Baldwin Racing
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Crew Chief Tommy Baldwin formed Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) in 2009. Baldwin utilized a declining economy to open a NSCS team with a stringent budget. The team worked to build to full-time competition, and by the 2011 season, the team’s third season, TBR competed in every race and locked the No. 36 Chevrolet in the top-35 in NSCS Owner Points. Dave Blaney drove the No. 36 Chevrolet to TBR’s highest finish of third in the October 2011 event at Talladega Superspeedway. In 2012 both cars fielded by TBR finished in the top-35 in points.
Based in Mooresville, N.C., TBR will compete in the NSCS in 2013 with NASCAR veteran Dave Blaney driving the No. 7 Chevy SS and JJ Yeley piloting the No. 36.
