Venturini Motorsports Celebrates 2013 Season; Daytona Testing Next Up on the Schedule

Concord, NC (December 17, 2013) – The 2013 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards officially concluded its 61st season this past weekend as teams and drivers celebrated in Indianapolis at this year’s awards banquet.

Highlighted by Frank Kimmel’s unprecedented 10th series championship, Venturini Motorsports (VMS) driver Justin Boston accepted the Scott’s Rookie of the Year Award as well as the third place (overall driver standings) trophy.

VMS made history by finishing the season with three cars in the top-10 standings.

VMS’s No.15 car finished second in the owner point standings and collected a season high six victories with a compilation of four different drivers including, John Wes Townley (Daytona), Kyle Benjamin (Elko & Salem), Erik Jones (Berlin) and Brennan Poole (Michigan & Springfield). AJ Henriksen, Nelson Canache, and Caleb Armstrong also contributed behind the wheel of the No.15 in ‘13.

Justin Boston finished the season standings third driving his No.25 ZLOOP Computer and Electronics Recycling Toyota and Milka Duno capped off the trio with an impressive seventh place season finish in her No.35 CanTV-Milka Way Toyota Camry.

Daytona Int’l Speedway Testing Roster

Just days after celebrating this year’s accomplishments, VMS and ARCA turn their attention to offseason testing at Daytona International Speedway starting Friday, December 20th. The scheduled 3-day test will include some familiar faces along with a couple of newcomers testing with VMS.

Leading the way for VMS is defending Daytona race winner, John Wes Townley, driving the No.15 entry along with 2013 ARCA Rookie of the Year, Justin Boston, behind the wheel of his familiar No.25 machine. Former VMS driver, Mark Thompson rejoins the team as well as first time drivers Leilani Munter and NASCAR K&N’s West Series standout Michael Self. Michael Self finished fourth in last year’s NASCAR K&N West Series point standings.
