Gary Elliott Motorsports Pre-Season Press Release – Modified

Gary Elliott Motorsports is proud to announce they will be competing in the 2014 OSCAAR Modified division. The team has purchased the #91 Modified of Mike Westwood, and is looking forward to running all 15 scheduled races in 2014.

The primary sponsor on the modified will be Lincoln Welders, with the Quaker State brand also as a major sponsor.

It was always Gary’s dream to run in the NASCAR Whelen Series if that class ever came to Ontario. He has lots of open wheel experience spending 42 seasons as a member of the Vintage Modifieds that included 33 consecutive seasons from 1972 to 2004. Gary went to Late Models in 2005 but kept the Coupe, running it as many nights as possible. His tenure in the open wheel Vintage Modified class produced two Championships and 30 feature wins.

The Vintage Mod was sold this past winter opening the door to race in the fastest growing class in Ontario, the OSCAAR Modifieds.

Gary will enter his 46th season, racing both the #36 Modified and #36 Late Model. Crew members Bob Pereira and Matt Smith also will join the modified team for this endeavor. You can see the modified at the 8th Annual Canadian Motorsports Expo February 7th, 8th and 9th at the Toronto International Center.
