AUTOGLYM HOT ROD DISPLAY AT THE CME TO FEATURE A TRIBUTE TO THE DEUCE AND THE MERC

The Canadian Racing Season Begins February 7, 8, & 9, 2014 at Toronto’s International Centre

(TORONTO, ON // FEBRUARY 5, 2014) The Canadian Motorsports Expo takes place this coming weekend – February 7, 8 & 9 – in Hall 5 of Toronto’s International Centre, across from Pearson Airport. The show celebrates the entire spectrum of racing, including stock cars, road racing, drag racing, vintage racers and more.

New for this year’s show, the CME will also feature some of incredible Hot Rods. The Autoglym Hot Rod Display, Presented by Boneyard Event Services marks the first time that Hot Rods have been included on the CME floor. According to the CME’s Mike Galipeau, the new feature is being applauded by racing fans and Hot Rod enthusiasts, alike.

“While the Autoglym Hot Rod Display will make up just a percentage of the CME floor, feature organizer Gary Challice has done an amazing job securing some fantastic machines,” said Galipeau. “The focus will be a tribute to the ‘Deuce’ (’32 Ford) and the ‘Merc’ (’49-’51 Mercury). Since we first announced it, the reaction has been really positive. Racing fans like Hot Rods, and vice versa. We’re grateful that Autoglym has stepped up to present the display, and to Boneyard Event Services who are going to dress it up in style.”

Discussing Autoglym’s participation at the Canadian Motorsports Expo, the company’s Canadian Brand Manager, Dave Lambert, said, “Autoglym is a household name in the UK and we want to become that in Canada, too. We have a lot of work to do to get there, but we’re very confident in the quality of our products.

“In addition to being the presenting sponsor of the new Hot Rod display at the CME, Autoglym will also have a booth,” continued Lambert, who will be on hand for all three days of the show, demonstrating Autoglym’s products, their ease of use and the quality results. There will be giveaways to show visitors and advice on auto detailing. As well, Autoglym will be unveiling a new product at the CME.

Autoglym is currently available across Canada at Canadian Tire stores, which carries 27 of the company’s products. According to Lambert, Autoglym concentrates its marketing efforts on enthusiasts who are willing to invest in the best car care products for their vehicles.

Feature coordinator Gary Challice said, “I’d like to thank Autoglym and Dave Lambert for sponsoring the hot rod display at the CME. As well, thank you to Kevin LeGallais of Boneyard Event Services for helping to present the cars in a way that will really make an impact.”

According to Challice, he’s lined up more than two dozen top-rate Hot Rods, including mostly ‘Deuces’ and ‘Mercs,’ with a few other impressive machines thrown in.

On Friday night at 6:00 p.m., Challice will host a discussion on the CME’s Inside Track Stage, featuring several of the participating car owners and hot rod experts. They are expected to include Bob McJannett, the founder of Performance Improvements, automotive enthusiast and legendary Canadian entertainer Don Francks and several others.
