FUEL PUMP PARKS CASSILL AT AUTO CLUB
FONTANA, Calif. – After four solid races to start the season, Landon Cassill ran into the gremlins in Race Five Saturday at Auto Club Speedway.
Cassill parked his Flex Seal Chevrolet 108 laps in the 150-lap race after fuel pump problems, finishing 35th.
Cassill had finished no worse than 21st in the schedule’s first four races and had scored a solid 12th in the previous week’s race at Bristol, Tenn.
Cassill now is 14th in series driver points.
“There’s not much you can do about that kind of problem,” Cassill said. “It’s tough to not get to the end of the race, but you’ll have those issues from time to time. The thing to do now is get ready for the next one.”
The series moves on to Texas Motor Speedway near Fort Worth for an April 4 race.
Kyle Larson won Saturday at Fontana, scoring his first series victory.
