Richard Petty Motorsports Drivers Head to Martinsville with Petty Family on Their Mind

CONCORD, N.C. (March 26, 2014) – With heavy hearts, Richard Petty Motorsports will head to the Martinsville (Va.) Speedway this weekend.

STP will return as the primary sponsor of the No. 43 Ford with driver Aric Almirola and DEWALT will be the primary sponsor of the No. 9 Ford driven by Marcos Ambrose.

Dale Inman, who the team asks for respect at the track, will serve as Grand Marshal on Sunday for Martinsville Speedway.

A statement from Marcos Ambrose:

“My deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences go out to Richard and the entire Petty family. Lynda’s strength, commitment to family and dedication to helping others was immeasurable. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with with Petty family during this difficult time.”

A statement from Aric Almirola:

“The Almirola’s are praying for the Petty Family.  It was so sad to find out Mrs. Lynda passed. We were lucky enough to know her a little and know how special she was.”
