JF Dumoulin Back in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at ICAR

Trois-Rivières (Québec, Canada), June 30th, 2014 – Behind the wheel of the #04 Bernier Crépeau/ Bellemare/ Manac/ ACASS, Jean-François Dumoulin will take part in the event of the NASCAR Canadian Tire series on the ICAR road circuit in Mirabel this weekend.

In 2012 and 2013, the mechanical team has demonstrated the competitive potential by finishing in seventh and eighth place, respectively. This year, the older of the Dumoulin brothers is aiming for the Top 5.

Buying a new 2013 Dodge Challenger has required a lot of adjustments throughout the winter, and the mechanical team has worked tirelessly to optimize the settings.

“I’m very happy to come back on track in the NASCAR Canadian Tire series this year, in front of our partners, friends, and supporters. Since it’s a new car, the objective is also to test it on-track in order to be ready for the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières event. ICAR is a circuit that I know, and we performed well back in 2013. The competition will be great, and our goal will be first and foremost to qualify as close to the top five as possible to be able to compete strategically,” shares the driver of the #04 Bernier Crépeau/ Bellemare/ Manac/ ACASS.

2014 season: His job has allowed him to drive all sorts of cars that were all very powerful, and often praised by experts in motorsports media, notably the McLaren 12C/GT Can-Am Edition, a primer in North America that belongs to the MIA Autosport team.

“My priority is and will always be that of a car racer, it is my life. I have it in my blood, as some would say.”

From mechanics to the track, Jean-François Dumoulin has always known what he wanted to do.

“The feeling I get when I’m on the track is something I can’t explain. I become one with the car with only one goal in mind: to perform.”

This year, with the #04 Bernier Crépeau/ Bellemare/ Manac/ ACASS, Jean-François Dumoulin plans to participate in two other events on road circuit of the NASCAR Canadian Tire series: Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières (August 7-10, 2014), and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (August 30-31, 2014). We are also evaluating the possibility of organizing a race on the St-Eustache Autodrome oval circuit (July 26 2014).

“We cannot set aside the financial aspect, which is at the heart of this field. It’s the reality and it is thanks to the incredible support (financial and more) of people in Mauricie, among others, that my brother and I are here today,” shares the one who will defend the colors of his partners with determination this weekend.

Competition has been great, and since the beginning of their career, the Dumoulin brothers have relentlessly performed, whatever the series was. It is always with pleasure and passion that Jean-François and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin find themselves together on the track.

Qualifying will occur on Saturday July 5th at 4:30 PM, and the green flag will be waved at 2:30 PM on Sunday July 6th, 2014 (30 laps – 63.37 miles).
