Who to watch for: Modifieds, #14 Davey Terry will be looking to put the bad luck of Capital City behind them and look for that elusive first feature win in the series. With win number one under his belt now #91n of Max Beyore could be a threat to win his second feature in a row. #61 of Dustin Jackson has shown signs that he is ready to compete for that first win. With a fast time reward and a second place finish at Capital City, the 14 year old could be celebrating in victory lane Sunday. #8 Gary McLean will be looking to make it a clean sweep at Kawartha in 2014. Tommy Robb has been a fixture at the front of the field in 2014, this Sunday could be his break out win. One wild card could be the possible entry of #57x of Andy Jankowick from New York, who at press time plans on being in attendance.
Super Late Models: #81 of Andrew Gresel remains undefeated at Kawartha Speedway, as he will be looking for his third consecutive win. Newly crowned Biederman Champion #17 of Kevin Cornelius will be looking to continue his winning streak in the series. #22 Glenn Watson will be looking for his first feature win in 2014 after impressive runs at Sunset Speedway. Rob Poole continues his consistent season and currently sits 3rd in the points. #2 John Owens will be looking to improve on his 4th place finish at the June 1st Kawartha event. #54 Mike Beyore considers Kawartha Speedway home and will be searching for his first series win this weekend.
Mini Stock Nationals: This event has been billed the premier mini stock event in Ontario. For the first event on June 1st, 33 of the top mini stock drivers signed in to do battle with 32 cars starting the 30 lap feature event. With a total of nine different speedways represented for this event, the fans got their monies worth. #35K of Andy Kamrath set the bar high, but in the month since round 1, drivers have been working and planning on how to dethrone the #35k from victory lane. With the top five finishers from round 1 representing five different speedways it is anyone’s guess who will be crowned Summer Rush II mini stock nationals champion this weekend. Fans will not want to miss this outstanding event!
DIRT Pro Late Models: In 2013 history was made at Kawartha Speedway as the first time ever the dirt cars from Brighton Speedway took the pavement. It was one of the most anticipated shows of the season and the drivers from Brighton did not disappoint. In practice the drivers where lifting that front left wheel off the ground coming out of turn four as the fans watched in amazement. By the time the feature came around the drivers where a bit more use to the track and were ready to get down to business. #25 Greg Belyea became the first ever winner of this event. In 2014 the stakes have been raised as the winner will now receive $500.00 to win the 20 lap feature event. The drivers all know what to expect and are excited to return to Kawartha Speedway this weekend. Seeing the Dirt pro Lates race, is one show fans will not want to miss.
