Jamie Cox Picked Up Second Feature Win In Series, But Fails Post Race Tech

Location: Delaware Speedway August 15, 2014
What won the race: Sixteen OSCAAR Hanover Holiday Modifieds signed in to race at Delaware Speedway. With the time trials and heat races setting the starting field #8 Gary McLean and #82 Justin DeMelo would lead the field to green for 25 laps of feature action. McLean and Demelo put on a fierce battle at the front until contact coming out of four almost ended the night for both drivers. McLean was able to continue but the #82 of DeMelo was done for the night. This handed the lead to #3 Jamie Cox who won last year’s event. A great battle for second took place between #91n of Beyore and #14 of Terry as they battled each other for the next seventeen laps, with Beyore taking second over Terry when the checker flag waved. Jamie Cox’s victory lane celebration came to an end in tech lane, as a motor infraction was found and the team was disqualified.
Drivers on the Move: #1 Barry Newman made his first start of the 2014 season on Friday night. After starting the feature event in 15th place Barry raced his way to the 4th place finish at the end of the race. #2 Matt Barton suffered front end suspension damage in the heat race and used every minute of the twenty minute intermission to be ready for the feature event. Hard worked paid off as the team moved up six positions in the feature event.
Bad Luck of the Event: #39m Dave McCullough made his first appearance of the season at his home track on Friday night. Unfortunately the teams night would come to an end after contact with the pit wall entrance coming out of turn four. Tommy Robb #88r also involved in the incident and where unable to make repairs in time to take the green flag in the feature.
