James Hinchcliffe’s 2015 IndyCar Livery Unveiled at Canadian International Auto Show

As part of the Honda Indy Toronto display at the Canadian International Auto Show, the livery for James Hinchcliffe’s Verizon IndyCar Series car was unveiled – well, sort of.

The IndyCar on display contains the livery that Hinchcliffe will be running, along with some minor touches to promote the IndyCar race in Toronto in June.

Following a season that saw him finish 12th in points with Andretti Autosport, Hinchcliffe makes the move to Schmidt Peterson Motorsports to drive their No. 77 entry with sponsorship from Spyder. Simon Pagenaud drove the No. 77 Honda last season, scoring a couple wins en route to a top-five career; Pagenaud will drive for Team Penske in 2015.

“It’s been a really great transition,” Hinchcliffe commented as part of IndyCar Media Day. “It all happened quickly after the season ended.  We’ve sat around waiting forever to get into the racecar.  You can get to know guys on the floor, but at the end of the day what matters is what you can achieve on the racetrack.

“Getting to work with Allen again, we worked together at Andretti, now he’s running my program.  Very experienced engineer.  Been around a long time.  That’s been a natural transition there.  A lot of mechanics I worked with either directly or indirectly when I was racing for Sam in Lights.  It’s been easy to get into the culture there.

“Obviously a much smaller operation from where I’ve been the last three years.  It’s cozy.”

If the car is underneath him, Hinchcliffe has proven to know how to get the job done, having won three races in 2013.

Below is a gallery, showcasing the new livery.
