Nationwide releases new television ad featuring Dale Earnhardt Jr.

‘It Takes a Nation’ broadcast premiere during the Daytona 500

Columbus, Ohio – Nationwide will air its latest television advertisement featuring NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. during the 2015 Daytona 500. The ad, titled “It Takes a Nation,” will make its television broadcast debut on Sunday, February 22, and air throughout the 2015 NASCAR season. It will be released on Nationwide’s @nationwide88 Twitter handle and the Nationwide88 Facebook page February 20.

The theme of “It Takes a Nation” is that success isn’t a solitary venture. Dale is able to do what he does today because of the support of those around him. Whether that’s his family looking out for him, his crew getting him ready to race, or Nationwide protecting him as his life changes, it takes a nation to get across the finish line.

“In this commercial, we show everyone who helps Dale succeed, including his No. 88 crew from Hendrick Motorsports, his crew chief Greg Ives, his sister Kelley Earnhardt Miller, his girlfriend Amy Reimann and many more,” said Matt Jauchius, chief marketing officer at Nationwide. “Nationwide has been a part of Dale’s journey for nearly 25 years, protecting what matters most.”

The ad will be Nationwide’s first commercial featuring Dale Earnhardt Jr. since becoming his primary sponsor and will feature the No. 88 Nationwide Chevrolet SS.

The 30-second spot was filmed at Charlotte Motor Speedway in late January 2015, and was developed with Ogilvy & Mather Advertising of New York.
