ADVANCE NOTES

Wallace at Phoenix International Raceway

Saturday marks Bubba Wallace’s first NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR).

In his two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at PIR coming in 2013 and 2014, Wallace earned finishes of 20th and sixth, respectively.

The No. 6 team brings a new chassis to PIR.

On the Car

The No. 6 Mustang carries the Ford EcoBoost colors this weekend in Phoenix.  Ford EcoBoost technology combines smaller overall size with turbocharging, direct injection and variable valve timing to bring customers outstanding performance and fuel economy.

Recapping Las Vegas

Wallace earned his first top-10 finish of the 2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday.  Wallace and his Roush Fenway Racing team adjusted on his No. 6 Ford EcoBoost Mustang throughout the race and overcame a one lap deficit, ultimately earning a seventh-place finish, his best of the season.  With the result, Wallace is fourth in the championship standings.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bubba Wallace on racing at Phoenix International Raceway:

“Phoenix is a place that is really, really line-sensitive.  All-in-all it’s a fun race track that provides good racing.  It hasn’t been one of my stronger race tracks, but I’ve survived there.  This season, knowing the team I have behind me and what we are bringing to the race track, it makes you excited for those race tracks that either you haven’t been to or that you’ve struggled at because you know things will turn around.  I’m excited to get to Phoenix and see where we stack up.  It’s a short track – the first of the season.  I feel like I can hold my own on short tracks.”
