Sadler Finishes 11th at Texas Motor Speedway

Fort Worth, TX. (April 10, 2015) – Roush Fenway Racing’s Elliott Sadler finished in 11th-place during Friday night’s NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) race at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). Sadler qualified in the 13th position for the scheduled 200 lap event. By lap 50, Sadler worked his way into the top ten. With fast pit stops and great mid-race adjustments, Sadler made his way up to the eighth position. In the closing laps, Sadler battled back and forth and crossed the finish line in the 11th position.

“I’m proud of everyone this weekend,” Sadler said at the end of the race. “The guys worked their tails off during the off weeks. We unloaded off the truck fast on Thursday and we carried that momentum into Friday. The car handled well, but we just couldn’t dial in to the best set up until the closing laps of the race. The good news is, we are staying consistent and in a long season, consistency pays off. I’m also happy to see we moved up one position in the point standings.”

Sadler started the NXS race at TMS from the 13th position. Within 15 laps, Sadler moved his No. 1 OneMain Financial Ford Mustang forward two positions into 11th.

The yellow flag waved on Lap 16 and on Lap 63. During both cautions, Sadler came down pit road and the crew made similar adjustments by adding four tires, racing fuel and the crew worked with air pressure changes and track bar changes. Each stop, Sadler wanted to work on his entry going into the turns and his exit coming out of the turns.

On Lap 167, the caution flag waved again. Sadler came down pit road and the crew executed a great stop by adding four fresh tires, fuel and a wedge adjustment. With another fast stop, Sadler was able to restart in the eighth position.

On the restart, Sadler was caught up in traffic and was forced to run three wide for a few laps. This three wide racing resulted in Sadler dropping back a few spots. Sadler spent the remaining laps battling in the 10th, 11th and 12th positions. Sadler pushed hard and crossed the finish line in the 11th position.

The No. 1 OneMain Financial Ford Mustang will return to the track next Saturday at Bristol Motor Speedway, on April 18th.
