The following is a medical update on Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires driver Michael Johnson of JDC Motorsports, who made contact with the Turn 3 wall in the opening practice session of the Allied Building Products Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on March 27, 2015.

According to Bayfront Medical Center spokeswoman Elena Mesa, Johnson was discharged from hospital care April 15.

Johnson also released the following statement:

“It’s great to finally be up and moving around and I’m looking forward to getting back home. I’m not in any real pain and I was beyond ready to be released. I can’t thank all of the fans, fellow drivers, teams, my sponsors and especially my family enough for the outpouring of support over the past few weeks. And to everyone at Bayfront Medical Center for the tremendous care they have given me, thank you. I’m on the road to recovery.”
