Armstrong Ready to Conquer the ”Monster Mile”

No. 43 WinField Team Looking to Improve on Last Year’s Dover Top-20 Finishes

This weekend, Dakoda Armstrong will compete at Dover International Speedway (DIS). Armstrong comes to the “Monster Mile” with strong momentum following a good performance at Charlotte Motor Speedway. In six starts, the Richard Petty Motorsports XFINITY team hasn’t finished outside of the Top-20 at DIS. With fast corner speed and a slick racing surface, Dover compliments Armstrong’s sprint car background. He hopes to capitalize on that experience during his fifth race at the track. Currently, Armstrong sits 15th in the XFINITY Series Championship Point Standings.

Armstrong has four prior starts at Dover International Raceway between the XFINITY Series and Camping World Truck Series. Armstrong earned his track best finish of 16th at the spring XFINITY Series race in 2014.

“Dover is a really interesting track. It’s only a mile long but is very fast with steep banking and a concrete surface. That combination is tough on both teams and drivers. The tires fall off quickly, and it becomes tricky to drive. Success here is all about maintaining corner speed and drive off. Luckily, the team has a good history here, and I enjoy racing here. We have some good momentum coming from our finish at Charlotte. I think we are close to having the car figured out and can put together a string of good finishes in these next few weeks. If we can stay out of trouble and continue to do things right on pit road, we’ll get the finish we’re looking for this weekend.”

In addition, Dakoda Armstrong wheels the No. 43 WinField Ford Mustang full-time in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. The team is headquartered in Mooresville, N.C.
