CASSILL ‘TOYING AROUND’ AT MICHIGAN

BROOKLYN, Mich. – Landon Cassill will be shooting for his second top-10 finish of the Xfinity Series season in Saturday’s Great Clips 250 at Michigan International Speedway.

Cassill sits 15th in Xfinity driver points entering the season’s 13th race. This week he’ll drive the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller No. 01 Chevrolet with sponsorship support from nearby Ann Arbor-based Buddies Toys.“I have a wealth of experience at Michigan,” said Cassill, who has driven in nine Sprint Cup and two Xfinity races at the fast two-mile track. “The best thing about the track is that the racing surface is so wide. You can run fast in just about any groove.”
The Michigan race is the first of 11 Xfinity races scheduled in June, July and August as teams prepare for the tough summer stretch.
Practice at MIS is scheduled at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Friday. Qualifying is set for 10:15 a.m. Saturday, with the race to follow at 1:30 p.m.
