Landing in Kentucky…This weekend, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) makes its only stop of the season at Kentucky Speedway. Justin Allgaier will make his second NSCS start at Kentucky on Saturday night. In his first NSCS start at Kentucky last year, he finished 24th. Kentucky marks the final primary race for the Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.) this season. However, F.O.E. will appear on the No. 51 Chevy as a co-primary for two remaining TBD races. Allgaier also has seven XFINITY starts at Kentucky, with 29 laps led.

Tweetup…Justin will attend the Kentucky Speedway tweetup on Saturday, July 11. The tweetup will occur at 3 p.m. EDT at the edge of the Quaker State grandstand on the hill outside Turn 4.

Fraternal Order of Eagles Convention…Following the race at Kentucky Speedway, Justin will appear at the Fraternal Order of Eagles International Convention in Milwaukee, Wisc., on Monday, July 13.

Daytona Race Recap…The NSCS completed its second stop of the season at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) last weekend. Rain plagued track activity Saturday and Sunday, with qualifying being canceled on Saturday. The starting lineup was set based on Friday’s first practice speeds, earning Allgaier the 21st starting spot. Rain also delayed the start of the 400-mile race for several hours. After running as high as sixth at DIS, Allgaier was caught in a last lap melee coming to the start/finish line and finished 18th in the TradeMark Nitrogen Chevy.

Justin Allgaier on Kentucky Speedway:

“I really like Kentucky [Speedway]. The track is so unique because of its bumps, which makes it very challenging to drive. You set your car up to be good in the corners, and then the bumps that affect the handling so much. The slicker the track is, the more I like it. We have some extra track time on Wednesday to try different packages for NASCAR. They’re trying to improve the racing so that it’s better for the fans. Hopefully, everything goes well at the test and NASCAR likes what they see. I’m glad to have Fraternal Order of Eagles back on the car this weekend. I’m going to see a bunch of the members at their convention in a few days, so hopefully I put on a good show for them Saturday night.”

Crew Chief Steve Addington on Kentucky Speedway:

“Our mile-and-a-half program continues to improve as the season progresses. We’ll see how Wednesday’s test at Kentucky goes with the new rules package NASCAR has given us. Obviously, the more track time we can get, the better it is for Justin and for us as a team to gather information. I know Kentucky is one of Justin’s favorite tracks, and we want get a great result for Fraternal Order of Eagles.”
