Eleventh Annual 2015 Darlington Car Hauler Parade

FLORENCE, S.C.  – The 11th annual Darlington Car Hauler Parade & Festival presented by OneMain Financial returns on September 3 to the Florence Civic Center. This year’s event offers new race-related games for the kids and a chance to win a VIP ticket package to the 2016 race weekend.

The fun ignites at 4 p.m. at the Florence Civic Center, featuring entertainment and live music by Painted Man. Kids play all afternoon for FREE on the KidsZone inflatables and new race themed-games. They’ll love the demonstrations from ScienceSouth and the robotics team from Williams Middle School. The GameTruck® will bring a wide selection of games for Xbox360, Wii and PS3, and can accommodate up to 16 players at one time!

This year’s event will provide race fans the opportunity to register to win a pack of tickets and hotel stay to next year’s race! Be sure to register for your chance to win the ticket package which includes two tickets to the 2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series race, two tickets to the Sprint Cup Series Southern 500, pit pass, access to the hospitality village, and a hotel package provided by Hilton Garden Inn of Florence.

There will be a variety of concessions for purchase like Kona Ice® and Freckles & Giggles homemade ice cream. Julia Belle’s will be serving up hamburgers and cotton candy to benefit Camp Pee Dee Pride.

Kids and adults alike will love the airbrush tattoos, even a semi-permanent logo of the track “Too Tough to Tame.”

Don’t miss your chance to grab a picture with Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s showcar, the number 88 car with the paint scheme to match the car he will be driving in the Bojangles’ Southern 500 race at Darlington Raceway.

Fans will enjoy the exciting silent auction full of great NASCAR items and race memorabilia. Perhaps the most exhilarating items up for bid will be the chance to ride in a NASCAR big-rig through the parade! This year, the proceeds from the Silent Auction will benefit Darlington Shares.

The main attraction, however, are the NASCAR transporters. Fans can make their way through a sea of NASCAR transporters, and take pictures with their favorite team’s hauler.

“The Florence area looks forward to the Darlington Car Hauler Parade each year,” notes Holly Beaumier, director of Florence Convention and Visitors Bureau. “The crowds gather for a chance to welcome NASCAR to the area, and they have a chance to get up close and personal with the racing team members. The presenting sponsor OneMain Financial will be bringing a show car to add to the excitement.”

At 7 pm, the parade of NASCAR haulers will leave the Florence Civic Center and make the 12-mile drive to Darlington RaceFest on the Darlington Square, where there will be added entertainment. The transporters will continue through Darlington to greeted with a fireworks display at the track “Too Tough to Tame” where they can begin preparation for the Bojangles’ Southern 500 race.

As if it couldn’t get any better, admission to the Darlington Car Hauler Parade is free! For more information on the Darlington Car Hauler Parade, please visit www.darlingtoncarhaulerparade.com
