Ford Finishing Results:
4th – Ryan Blaney
8th – Chris Buescher
9th – Elliott Sadler
11th – Darrell Wallace Jr.
14th – Ryan Reed
20th – Dakoda Armstrong

RYAN BLANEY – No. 22 Hertz Ford Mustang – HOW MUCH DID THINGS CHANGE WITH THE CAR THROUGHOUT THE DAY?  “It changed a bunch.  We got a couple new tracks there with it raining and kind of started all over, but our Hertz Ford Mustang wasn’t bad.  I felt like our long-run speed was OK, we just lacked a little bit of short-run speed and that’s really hurt us.  We couldn’t make up the time that we lost and we were so concerned about saving fuel there at the end.  I didn’t know if the top three could make it.  They were running pretty hard, but I guess apparently they made it, but it wasn’t a bad outing here.  It was a good, solid finish for us and we’ll build for next time.”

ELLIOTT SADLER – No. 1 OneMain Financial Ford Mustang – YOU WERE SO CLOSE TO WINNING WHEN THE RAIN CAME, BUT IT DIDN’T WORK OUT.  “I’ve never had much luck with the rain.  I’ve always been on the wrong side of that going back to the 2009 Daytona 500.  I’m proud of my guys.  We were just on the splitter way too much.  They tried to fix it at the beginning of the race and then we lost some travel again.  We’ve been battling that and have to work on it a little bit.  I see the splitter is almost gone, but the car drove good.  We tried some new stuff this weekend.  Phil did a good job and we took some chances.  I think we held on pretty good there at the end to be on two tires.  We held on a long time, so I’m proud of my guys.  We learned some stuff this weekend that I think we can take starting next weekend at Charlotte.”

DID YOU KNOW YOU WERE IN TROUBLE WHEN THE RACE RESTARTED?  “I knew we would be in trouble with two tires.  I got a really good restart and tried to hold them off.  We thought more rain might have been coming.  I was trying to hold Regan off, but they were just too good on four tires.”

CHRIS BUESCHER – No. 60 Lilly/American Diabetes Association Ford Mustang – “It wasn’t a bad day for our Lilly Diabetes Mustang.  Our guys worked really hard.  We had really good pit stops.  The race didn’t play out the way we needed to.  We needed to be on the outside lane for one restart, but we ended up on the inside for every single one and that was terrible.  The inside hasn’t worked here lately, so it was just a product of that and probably cost us some positions.  Once it got rolling nobody could really pass much, but it wasn’t a bad day.  I feel like it was a good points day for what it’s worth, but I just wish we could have gotten a little bit more.”

SOME JUGGLING IN THE POINTS RACE WITH TY HAVING SOME PROBLEMS AND REGAN WINNING.  THESE GUYS KEEP COMING AT YOU.  HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT YOUR POSITION?  “We know there’s plenty of racing left and this thing is far from over.  We knew the 9 and the 3 would be there and the 7 has come on pretty good here lately, so there might be some different races for us to watch out for, but if we just go out here and run our own race and try not to worry too much about the points we should be in good shape.”
